Super Trench Attack!

Super Trench Attack!

Little top-down-view “ala 8bit” shooter game with cartoon animation. Yep, another one. Thank God, at least there are no zombies in that game, unlike many of her sisters!

Pro part:

Game’s short, easy to beat on gold with achievements, the price is not high even without discounts Steam so rich for. If you’ve seen the video from the store page, you’ve seen all that that game have for you. Shoot it if you’re not up to some bigger hits for a moment, and just want to make some clicks with your mouse and get some achievements for it. Easy breeze of victory, you know?

Isometric twin-stick shooter with occasional on-rail missions, in setting similiar to World War I and with solid portion of humour. The game is a little similiar to Cannon Fodder, but it has much more than that. I was pleasantly surprised when the game wasn’t just set of levels. Here we have a fully functional camp that we’ll visit between missions, buy weapons and gear, listen to chatter of other soldiers, play blackjack or check our status. It offers a nice break between missions and I was impressed that idling soldiers constantly have something new to say.

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land

H. P. Lovecraft entertained us with stories of madness and the unknown back in the early 20th century. Known for his works of ‘The Shadow out of Time and ‘At the Mountains of Madness’, his other work, ‘The Call of Cthulhu’ is what this game is based on (obviously). Now a registered trademark of Chaosium Inc, this game is centred on The Call of Cthulhu RPG. Originally made for the iOS, the ported PC version is quite reasonable, despite its apparent handset limitations as there are no real extra features to take advantage of the PC. Yet it’s entertaining enough to finish due to its tactical nature.

Enjoyed it. Definately a throwback to 90’s style controls. For its price its fun enough to play through. Looking at the complaints mentioned, I myself did not actually get any of the described errors, although this may be due to it already getting fixed by the time I brought the game.

As for the control issues mentioned, it is answered by playing the tutorial mission, as already said by previous comments.

I do advise playing this on hard though, to get the challenge that some others are demanding. For the price paid it was able to keep me entertained to the very end, and was a fun introduction to the cthulhu mythos.

Nature Park

Normally I would even play more before reviewing, but this isn’t even playable due to the many bugs. I ran into invisible walls, immortal monsters, bodies going through the floor, sound disappears on the loading screen, crashes on launch,.. but the graphics do seem beautiful! But then Game Guru provides good assets.

Imagine a default demo map included with the GameGuru engine used, but plagued with invisible walls and a handful of terrible looking creature assets. The creatures die and then pop back up with infinite health.

As bad as GameGuru games are, this has to be one of the absolute worst GameGuru games ever exported.

The price of $24.99 USD is absolute insanity, but this trash wasn’t uploaded onto Steam to sell copies here, it most definitely was uploaded just to sell keys on key selling websites to make a quick and easy profit.

This is more of a game of skill and a computer game in one. I have never played anything like this before. This game is addictive once you get into it and spend the first two hours actually reading the intructions and doing the training. The colors are very bright and this title is best played in the dark with the sound turned up. When you play this game it grows on you and you want more and more because what starts out as so simple in theory is very very hard in reality. This is like climbing a tree in hell that has been oiled with the souls of a weaker player. This game needs a leaderboard so players can talk smack to each other on how far they can make it. I say to give it a try and see if you manage to break something around the house after falling down and down and down again. The price point makes this game very affordable and I think we can all agree that we have spent way more on less fun and challenging titles……….give the little guys a chance.

Aircraft Evolution

Aircraft Evolution

Control a plane that flies towards your pointer, drops bombs and fires missiles so you can wipe out hordes of enemies.

Its a close one here, the controls work fine, its quite neat getting new planes and upgrading them, and the variety of bombs and missions is pretty solid.

but it feels a lot like a mobile game that had microtransactions and wasnt balanced quite correctly when it was ported back to PC. Things go at a fair clip through the first part of the game, but around chapter 2 the difficulty ramps up faster than your money does and you end up in a sort of grind, particularly because even with the best plane in the game your bombs never do that much damage and there are a lot of enemies.

Aircraft Evolution is a casual indie sidescrolling shooter that follows in the footsteps of the 1987 classic Wings of Fury. In my opinion fans of WOF game most likely wont be disapointed acquiring Aircraft Evolution as it does a great job at it. The gameplay of Aircraft Evolution is pretty much about bombing the living hell out of the enemies of differnt eras of the history of airplanes and fending off attacking airplanes in different missions while upgrading and buying new planes. In the current early access build the plane is controlled with the mouse and 3 keyboard keys (z,repair -x,fuel-space,speed) and its rather simple to master. The graphics are hand-drawn and really nice to behold. I bought the game for 3.99 euros and feel i got great value for the money. I’ll rate the game 8/10.

Rouge Patrol

Rouge Patrol

The war between Rouge and Bleue has gone beyond either nation’s capacity to wage it. First they drafted the men and then boys… women were conscripted in turn. Now, with all spent - and surrender unthinkable - the grinding machine of war has turned to girls.

Fourteen years old, Sergeant P.G. Tails has lost everything to Bleue and will stop at nothing to achieve their destruction. But, as she leads her unit into the unending conflict, she begins to realise that the price of revenge may be paid, not by her, but the girls she has come to love. Worse, she carries a secret that puts her in more danger from her friends than her enemies…

Description

Rouge Patrol tells an epic and heartfelt story about friendship, loss, and a young girl’s conflicting drive to avenge what’s been taken while preserving what remains. You will take on the role of Sergeant P.G. Tails and, through a fusion of visual novel and stat-raiser mechanics, explore a branching and perilous narrative.

Each member of Rouge patrol has her own history and interrelationships. But, as their commanding officer, your choices will determine their future. Form friendships with any or all of them, but balance socialisation against the pressures of maintaining your found family’s ability to survive the missions you lead them into.

Featuring:

  • Ten main characters and multiple sides, all with over thirty unique poses

  • Full HD CGs, backgrounds and sprites

  • Separate health, morale and relationship systems that impact characters' appearance and behaviour

  • Multiple story branches

  • Individual stat management for the whole patrol

  • Levels, exp, ability tests, perks and all that good stuff

  • Four branching romances

  • Tragic friendships!

Badiya: Desert Survival

Badiya: Desert Survival

Only for the EA fans, I will say that.

I personally love these kind of games and have quite a few, but this setting… I just had to have it.

Something absolutely different than other games in the same genre. Those who have played Minecraft (or similar games) know that usually the hardest “world” to survive is the desert. This is all set in the desert, so I think has huge potential of being different and challenging! Also, although at the moment not implemented just yet, there’s going to be sea (and sailing on it), pearl diving, and if I can believe one of the trailers I’d say “Stranded Deep-esque” beaches.

I reveived a key for free, keep that in mind when reading my review.

This review is for alpha 1.9, I will update as the game progresses. I am giving a thumbs up with the following caveats.

1. The game engine is still unstable, though not terribly so. It seems every NPC encountered increases the chance of crashing so make sure to save before visiting any point of interest (area with npc’s). When the game gets laggy save, quit to the main menu and reload.

2. Unfortunately, related to above, the mechanic to save requires building a lean-to. This is not horrible, you can carry the wood around with you, but I hope the devs read this and implement a temporary quick save function until the engine is more stable.

NAVYFIELD

This is the father of all naval games, yes it may be grindy but that’s all MMOs.

Pros:

FANTASTIC ship customization(no custom paints or skins but you can fully customize your weapon load, ammo, etc)

Friendly graphics that are still appeasing but easy on low end PCs

Great sounds/music

Sim-cade gameplay (combines realistic and arcady style of play) You can choose if you want to set your gun angles by ourself instead of the auto aim function, along with things like belt armour, deck armour, etc.

Huge selection of ships in which some can be remodeled into more powerful or different ships of it’s class (ex: The Admiral Hipper CA can be remodeled to Prinz Eugen)
