It’s a very decent game. A budget game definetely and not a triple A title, but it is the very top of budget games level.

The voice acting is exactly what you expect from a budget title, a very hilarious at times, but it keeps a decent level mostly.

The gameplay is a simple mix of beat’em up and top down shooter (depending on which character you play) with some small RPG enchancements like items and skills.

If you go to it open minded and close an eye to small bad things like clunky AI and sometimes annoying moments when you fall down and die, then you can get around 6 hours of fun arcade like mayhem. Also there the controls are not changeable (but I found them easy to learn and handle).

The character customization alone makes this game worth the price of admission. But, if you don’t like souls-likes and the honestly pretty generic story and characters don’t entice you, this game is a hard sell. The game is honestly very pretty and the costumes are sick, though. Plus, if you don’t like souls-like games because of the difficulty, this one’s relatively easy when you have an ai companion with you. But real gamers play without a companion after the first playthrough. Anyway, i recommend this game while its on sale for anything above, say, %25.

Pretty nice anime Soulslike. I just finished the main story, played all the depths maps which are some lite equivalent of the Chalices in Bloodborne (except one i guess) and even beat the first of the 3 DLC’s called Hellfire Knight ( i was/am level 159 and it was still F’ing hard).

Apart from the difficulty of the DLC the rest of the game was not really as hard as i expected it to be based on what i read about this game, but very pleasant and fun to play anyway. Pretty similar to Nioh when it comes to enemy placement/ambushes.

Massive

Massive

Here i am with another review

Introduction

Massive is a top down shooter game for PC, Mac, Linux and mobile devices. It is a pretty straight-forward game, you pick a character, pick a weapon, shoot aliens, repeat. You have a nice amount of alien weapons to choose from.

Graphics

It is a pixel art style game, wich gives it a retro theme. It is beautifly drawn and high quality. Guns have good detail and characters have nice clothing,

Gameplay

You have 2 modes: Adventure and Survival. In adventure you kill aliens in order to get to the boss in each stage. Each stage has approximately 5 levels before the boss appears. Also to make it less repetitive, each level is randomly generated so everyone has a unique expirience. In survival… well the title says it all, kill endless waves of aliens until you die. Multiplayer is slowly being implemented but come soon.

I’m really glad I ended up getting this game! ‘Massive’ is a blast to play! (No pun intended…lol) Good, quick action that keeps you on your toes…and it’s fun! Good for short-term and long-term play too…whichever sets the mood. Definitely recommend, and there’s frequent updates and GREAT developer who is awesome at communicating, as well as being very attentive to player comments. PLUS, there’s a group for the game, where you really get great insight into what the developer is aiming for (no pun intended…lol) in updates and player needs. Totally can’t miss (Again, no pun intended…lol) with ‘Massive’ on every level!!

Summary

An arcade twin-stick slash and shoot game that’s asset flipped from “Gun Brothers” and “Massive”.

Rating

Not broken, but has a long way to go to become something that sustains my attention for more than a few minutes of gameplay. At $10, I just can’t recommend it at this time.

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile

SO! First question you guys might ask yourselves when looking at this game:

Q: “Is the gameplay any good?”

A: Yes. BIG yes. So far, gameplay wise, it’s the best side scrolling beat’em up I’ve ever played. The gameplay is fast paced, smooth, and VERY satisfying. Both with controller AND keyboard. Feels like Smash bros but tighter and more visceral.

NOTE: For the keyboard though, you’re gonna want to go into your options, and switch your, “Blood Warp” ability to the, “F” key. You’ll know what I mean once you get the Blood Warp ability. (You get it within the 1st 5-10 minutes of playing)

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is the sequel to The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai. They both were Xbox Live Arcade games. For some reason, only this one was ported over which is disappointing because TD:VS is an awesome blood pumping beat’em up. The story is told in comic book style comment bubbles and stills, which is fine considering the 2D style to the game. You don’t necessarily need to play the first one to understand the story of this game. Its recounted numerous times during the cutscenes.

There are two playable characters Yuki (The Prisoner) or the Dishwasher. Both have their own arsenals of weapons at their disposal but operate mostly the same as far as movement and dish magic. Dish magic is 4 special abilities that can really change the tide of battle in your favor. There are also beads you can equip that add various effects to the character you choose. Both characters will share any health or magic upgrades you purchase, but the weapon upgrades are unique to the individual character. A floating robot acts as a vendor throughout most levels to purchase character upgrades and items.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

I’d suggest to start the game as an elementalist for zooming adventures & farming fate points & use it as your crafting character(% reduced enchanting costs items) and then make a phlogistoner as your second character for farming gold & get you going through the hardest difficulty levels to earn that juicy 200 fate daily limit & then have fun doing whatever the heck you’d like to do, because you are probably going to be rich as hell that way.

Pros:

  • Main story is great to follow.

This is my, perhaps, final review of this game - I followed it from the very start, until this unification to one, complete and even better game.

A short description:

It’s an aRPG, in the full meaning of what aRPG is, and what it should be like. It resembles, reasonably closely, to Diablo 2. It offers a classic hack’n’slash experience, levelling, item hunt and character progression. In addition to this, rather uncommon to the genre, story is excellent, and game could even be played as an adventure. Ridiculously funny and witty, game follows a number of cliches - protagonist is a Monster Hunter, which (ever accompanied by his sharp-witted and even sharper-tongued ghost companion Katarina), comes to a fictional land of Borgovia, to rid it of a great evil - a group of scientist who took over the land after his father defeated ruling Vampire Princes. But the story just starts to unroll…

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III

Firstly, this is an EARLY review, written on the very first day of release.

[And then updated excessively week after, with some 70h of gameplay]

And to say this first, game is not FULLY completed - you can play story and scenarios up to level30. More features (Neverending Story, levels up to 60, probably a few completely new features). If this bothers you, wait a while, instead posting negative review.

Rather than continuing leveling from VH2 - (characters can be imported, but they don’t keep levels and items, they DO keep glory points and are given Epic item at start), the game offers whooping SIX classes, some redesigned builds from earlier games, but some rather unique to the whole genre, as is strength-based-stealth class I play.

Real player with 157.9 hrs in game

I’ve now beaten the game with the Constructor and Elementatlist classes and I’m still going. I’ve tried out the Bounty Hunter and Phlogistoneer. I expect I’ll finish the game with the Phlogistoneer next, it and the Constructor are my favorites so far. The Bounty Hunter is a fun unique diversion, but feels ill handled for spawning mobs that a few enemies can throw at you - probably better to play in multiplayer. The Elementalist became quite enjoyable as soon as I added Frost wall to my skillset.

Gun Brothers

Exciting and fun

Beautiful scenery and visual art. I played for a long time right the first time.

You can play for a long time without getting tired because the game changes all the time. the enemies are all over the map and each new corner is a surprise.

The game works well and is wonderful to have games like this online.

Some monsters are silly and others are aggressive leaving everything more fun.

The art is very well made and the colors please me a lot.

I recommend the game to anyone who wants to have fun and enjoy a good pixel art.

Do not buy this game. It has about 6 gun in total and is very buggy, sometimes the levels are broken and don’t end, other times the portal spawns in an non-accessible location. The game has about 3 different level themes and loops them over and over with no increase in difficulty. There is practically no progression system in this game. The multiplayer is also very buggy, but made for a so bad its good type of thing, kind of, but I also feel like that was just me making the best of buying a horrible game.

LOVE this game! Horror and Mario Party combined, PURE PERFECTION!!

Real player with 15.2 hrs in game

Mega Monster Party is great to play with friends! I love the fact that you can use your phone as a controller, like this all your friends can join without having to buy expensive controllers. The input delay from phone to screen is non-existent which makes the experience very smooth and enjoyable. There are 40 minigames and 5 different & detailed maps, this makes the game very replayable. The minigames are somewhat easy to play against the AI but the challenge really comes when you play against (or with) your friends and this game is clearly meant to play in a multiplayer setting. If your friends aren’t around, playing with Parsec or Steam’s remote play works pretty well. I like that you can choose how many turns your game will have. Like this you can somewhat control the duration of your game which can be between 45 minutes and 3 hours for 1 map. I would go with something in the middle because you will not be able to see the full maps within 45 minutes. I adore the character design, all characters have their own animations and personality, I personally love Lupin (the werewolf) and Rowena (the witch). The price is great for what you get. Overall, I would recommend the game if you want to have a fun time with your friends or family and don’t want to spend a huge amount of money. The social aspect and accessibility is really what makes this game entertaining and worth giving it a try.
