Talk to Saki

Just like Talk to Aya and Talk to Yuno I really like this game. I wish that new dialogues will be added. It will be really nice if all three will become a more complex and interactable game.

So this is sort-of a companion to Talk to Aya. In this case, you are talking with Saki (who happens to be Aya’s best friend). Saki is a more outdoors/energetic type. So there are different keywords you must try, and times to access the “game” to get the achievements.

You Can Kana - Learn Japanese Hiragana & Katakana

You Can Kana - Learn Japanese Hiragana & Katakana

Thank you for your game. I like it a lot, Your game has a great potency. I help me a lot on the journey remembering Hiragana and Katakana. By the way, I have some reviews after 20 hours as newbie Japanese learner.

1. Can you develop an timeless mode? We would like to read correct first, speed will follow later, and yes, we need time to read and also learn the meaning of the word as well instead of rushing to the other words or they will disappear.

2. A horizontal mode to change between the default vertical one would be great.

Real player with 46.7 hrs in game

TLDR:

Recommending this to anyone looking to hone their hiragana and katakana reading comprehension and speed.

Disclaimer:

I got my key for free.

I was fortunate enough to get to make some UI suggestions here and there.

I had been studying Japanese prior for quite some time.

Wanikani, Genki 3rd Edition, and Anki.

You Can Kana is a great addition to the other learning tools as it’s the only one really drilling you in the basic alphabets.

I personally struggled a LOT with Katakana.

Now with You Can Kana I feel i’m far better equipped in dealing with the archaic translations from English to Japanese via Katakana.

Chimpology

Chimpology

Chimpology is a retro pixel button mashing game where you must hit the keys corresponding to “1” and “0” in sequence. Get the numbers right and you can progress. Enough mistakes and you lose. For some reason they decided that despite having “0” and “1” keys on your keyboard, they should be “z” and “m” because apparently these guys never saw a keyboard before.

There’s no other gameplay to speak of here. Graphics are ugly. The developers seem to have put more effort into explaining why their terrible game works the way it does (chimpanzees or something) than actually developing a game people might enjoy. Totally not worth $3.

Cook, Serve, Delicious!

Cook, Serve, Delicious!

I want to start here: I love this game. The review that follows may sound critical at times but only because this is an “Icarus” game for me, i.e. it fell apart only because it got so close to the sun.

I’ve heard some people complain that the game is too difficult, but I disagree. The difficulty felt a lot like Guitar Hero. Do you remember how you could barely keep up with songs on easy or medium the first time you played? But after trying a song on hard a few times, suddenly going back to medium felt like a cake walk? CSD is a lot like that. You can barely keep up with the small customer queue and simple orders at first, but you get used it and CSD has a wonderful, smooth difficulty curve. Eventually, you’ll find yourself humming along quite nicely with an 8 person queue and all kinds of complex recipes.

Cook, Serve, Delicious is not your average restaurant sim. Instead of waiting tables and clearing checks, you’re more of a line cook who owns a small restaurant in a business tower. Your main goal is to achieve what every chef wants, a five star restaurant. Each day, customers order off your customizable menu and you prep and cook their food by hitting the corresponding keys to each item, such as ‘L’ to add lettuce on a burger. This sounds relatively simple but can certainly become challenging when the clock is ticking and customers are getting impatient.

Ecstasy Elf Shotenken -Naruru’s Sexy Adventure-

Ecstasy Elf Shotenken -Naruru’s Sexy Adventure-

Very short and not much adventure or RPG-elements, game takes place in a small town without much locations to explore and without character progression.

Art-style is cute and there are silly elements in the story, but it is over before it really begins.

If you get this in a sale then it can be worth it.

Remember to patch.

Good sexual content doesnt justify a lousy game, but a lot of DLSite devs think thats the case.

Really weak and short sadly, I did like the fighting system and the art, but I wish they would have expanded more on that and also made it more difficult later on tho, it was piss easy.

The game tells you that you shouldnt do anything lewd to get the happy ending, but it literally doesnt matter, in the last fight you can choose the ending you want, whether MC got defiled or not.

Some parts of the game arent translated, its a nice touch imo, but feels a little half-assed.

Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered

Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered

Definitely recommended!

It’s fun, it’s cute, it joggs the brain. Whether you’re super brain or fuzzy old me, it’s playable by everyone who can spell English words.

You play as Grimm, a little reaper who is on a quest to get pizza. You venture through various locations where you have to beat up monsters by spelling words from 15 available random letters.

Along the way, you free shopkeepers who sell you stuff for the gems you earn; upgrades, special abilities, books, potions, weapons. There’s even two more characters to unlock that you can play with, with different stats (but all upgrades, special abilities, and stuff transfer)

Fantastic little word game, which can be described as a scrabble-meets-RPG (or to be more precise: monster mashing in a fantasy setting with basic cRPG elements, if you like).

As in original scrabble, you are building words from letter tiles, but instead of accumulating points, you are using them to defeat your opponents. There is loot, potions, various unlockables, character development and… yes, there are quests! (scrabble-like, mainly about building specific number of words meeting specific criteria).
