It came from space and ate our brains
** CLICK VIDEO AT THE END FOR A GIVEAWAY OF THIS GAME **
Introduction
It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains is a top down shooter where you fight waves of aliens trying to eat your brains. I was skeptical with going into this game because of the blocky style graphics, but I was pleasantly surprised. It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains has plenty of different guns/upgrades, maps, powerups, and different aliens. Along with the six maps currently there is more on the way and 4 different difficulties that are vastly different. The only real issue with It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains is the fact of the camera gets blocked by map structures, but this issues is far and in between. Triangle Studios really has a hidden gem with It Came From Space, and Ate Our Brains, from the unique graphics style to the fun multiplayer.

Some games dont look like much at first, but keep you coming back for more and more without realizing why. This is one of them.
With so many top down shooters and alien themed games on Steam, why is this so good? Because the aliens are pink and glow in the dark? Thats actually cool too , but here is why you should get this game:
Game play / Game mechanics: the controls are very smooth , so is the scrolling / gameflow and motion in general, creating a very pleasing game experience. For top down shooters with “twin stick” controls ( move with one stick , aim freely with the other ) this is critical. Not many people realize but this is usually what decides whether the game is great or terrible in this genre.

Final Days
I have been an pre alpha tester of this game and personally know the developer so please keep this in mind when reading my review.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the testing of this game. It is a simple game mechanic and style that is done very well.
It’s multiplayer is of a very high calibre and I have had some awesome moments while playing with larger groups doing silly things like charging into a room together then relaising how badly you are out number fleeing and closing the door behind you with other members of your team still in a room with a horde :)

Game is entertaining, stable, and well-done for a solo developer. Music is good.
Multiplayer hosting requires a bit of extra work to set up (uPnP or port forwarding), I can see this being a problem for some, but if I managed to do it, you probably can too. Community is rather microscopic, but the bots are actually quite decent. [EDIT: See developer response 25 Jun 2019; Thanks Mike!]
The game is not very expensive and there’s a free demo, so no reason not to try the game at least.
I’m partial to Last Stand game mode, given I like games like Nation Red and Versus Squad, but the other modes are also very good.

Shadow Walls
A good indie game. It is not really a horror game but an action game. There is an atmosphere of suspense through sound, but the theme is action. The difficulty is well balanced, which is very rare in the indie scene. Today, I arrived in the last phase, I believe there was a short time to finish, but it is not easy. There is a good progression of the difficulty that increases gradually and peaks in the last phase, of course. My only criticism is the flashlight, which in fact is useless, just decoration. The developer has a style that can be recognized in other works and knows how to do a good level design, this is very good. And finally, the game has an originality, something also difficult to achieve today with so many titles. Congratulations.

Very nice game to play and with a lot of challenge. It is undoubtedly a great deal for the price. If you are looking for a fun and challenging experience, this game is for you.

Undead Blackout: Reanimated Edition
I wasn’t holding out much hope for Undead Blackout, but I can say in all honesty that it managed to underwhelm me even beyond those minimal expectations.
Graphically, the game is very dark. It’s nearly impossible to see anything, which tells me that the “gimmick” for this game is nothing more than a poorly done game of, “Hide & Seek.” While I will admit that it was a bit creepy the first time I enountered a group of zombies standing with their backs to me, that only works once. It ceases to be interesting when it’s overdone.

I reccomend this ONLY IF you’re ok with ‘top down’ view. This wasn’t for me but it’s still an ok game. Here’s my Lets Play

Destropolis
Proof that a twin-stick shooter can be a work of art.
Destropolis' minimalist art style is bolstered by intelligent gameplay with precision weapon and skill mechanics, and persistent level progression across play sessions.
The aesthetics and gameplay are elevated by LukHash’s beautiful synthwave soundtrack and the integration of tempo manipulation with Bullet Time works to create a beautiful example of digital love.

The new update is lit.
My old review was still recommended, but I listed a litany of complaints and it was very negative overall.
That old review is wrong, so it’s gone. Of course I still recommend the game, it’s a blast.
So many things have been tuned, changed, and improved across the board.
It’s a bit easy to start now, but it’s sooo fun. Explosions everywhere. More guns, better guns.
If you want a chill game to zone out after a hard day, this is your ticket.
You get to be the conductor of a ballet of destruction, good luck have fun.

Over 9000 Zombies!
Over 9000 Zombies is a top down 2D shooter that is in development, and what was given to us on day one was great in my opinion, it is simple, it’s easy to get into. Alot like Nation Red without the absurdly overwhelming difficulty to start out on. You collect scrap that zombies drop to fortify where you wish to dig in at, you can also build turrents and find new weaponry that zombies may drop. There are also an absurd ammount of zombies on screen at one time, there is veriations of zombies among the horde that don’t feel so rehashed. A massive assortment of weapons that you can pick up that carry from game to game to make you stronger aginst the zombie threat plus new weapons to pick up ontop of that.

Looking to invest your time in a short game that, despite being just that, is also very entertaining? Well, Over 9000 Zombies! brings many things to the table - over 9000 different helpings in fact (just kidding).
–——————————————————-
Through a retro styled theme, Over 9000 Zombies! does what many other zombie survival games can’t. It brings thrills and fun into the realm of an already bloated genre that verge on impossible, annoying, complex, or expensive. For the low low price of $1,49, and for a two-pack no less, you will most certainly be entertained for long periods of time. Take a step back into the late 1990s. Experience gaming through its purest lens. This is honestly a great little title that you can play with any friend.

VERSUS SQUAD
I’m big fan of Shoot ‘‘em up with Twin Stick Shooter. I’ve played them since my childhood. My favorite games was Alien Phobia series (1, 2 and 3) and Crimsonland. Nation Red was like Crimsonland but just much better in every way possible. This could be called sequal for it since it’s made by same guy.
Versus Squad is game which is made by one guy who listens players. Even though this is not in early access game is ever evolving. New thing come from time to time. If you don’t believe me check recent updates!

Versus Squad: An addiction in a nutshell.
I bought Versus Squad during the summer sale with the notion that it would be a “fun 4 dollar game”, but it turned out to be a lot more than that.
Versus Squad is one of those games that can easily become an addiction. From the outside looking in the game might seem repetitively simple. “Build Here. Kill Here. Die Here.”, is how games like this normally are and once you establish that the game can become stagnant fast. Versus Squad isn’t like that. While this game isn’t overly complex it does have enough complexity to keep you playing.

ATOMINE
ATOMINE is a two-stick shooter set in procedurally generated levels with a minimal polygonal look to it.
Pros:
-Great mechanics and flow. Controls feels smooth and easy to get a hang of.
-Polygonal design style along with use of bright colours and slight minimal feel is aesthically pleasing.
-It is challenging and requires some fast thinking, but it isnot too difficult to progress.
-It has Steam Achievements and trading cards.
-Many, many weapon upgrades which keep the game interesting and refreshing.

This game has some great potential, but unfortunately is full of bugs and is barely playable in its current state. There are several bugs in the actual gameplay, but more frustratingly, in the graphics rendering as well.
Most seriously, when there are too many objects on the screen (particularly many XP pickups or projectiles), the framerate drops through the floor (~5FPS) and movement becomes extremely glitchy. I have been unable to progress beyond the second boss because at some point, inevitably, I will reach a room with too many XP drops or bullets and it will lead to an untimely death.

Nation Red
Nation Red is a top down Zombie Shooter. And a good one!
In several different Game Modes like Barricade (you need to hold a point, have some support from Sentry Guns or Soldiers) Survival (show them how long you can keep going) or the Classic endless mode. Every Game Mode offers you a different Challenge.
On top of that, there are tons of different power ups you can pick up, that will drop randomly from your enemies. While you’re playing you gain Experience and Level up, with every Level up, you get access to a wide Range of skills you can choose from, to optimize your Character in a way you want to play the level/game. Through that, the game offers a wide range of variations to try out and experiment with. The game also offers a variety of boss monsters you encounter randomly throughout your current play trough. Which all have their own strength and weaknesses. You can change the difficulty at any given time. As stronger as you make your enemies, the more experience you will get from them.

Definitely very good game, Top-Down it’s not maybe my prefered genre, but I really enjoyed this game. I have just done 100% achievements! It was fun :)
As achievement hunter I can recommend this game too, ‘cheevos were challenging and innovative (achievements in this game = ideas of people who play it - you can suggest in steam discussion), but nothing what you wouldn’t be able to do, especially when you have some hours behind you. I have finished all achievements in around ~50 hours, all without 3 cows, which means killing 500k, 750k & 1kk zombies and generally it was the most boring part of this game when I have finished everything else (killed ~330 000 when I was done with rest achievs.). Unfortunately Multiplayer will be dead till the end of this year, I had problems now with finding players, sometimes was lucky, mostly weekends evenings.
