Alien Death Mob
This is one of the fastest and most relentless twinstick shooters I’ve played! There are a lot of levels, powers ups, and enemy types. I especially dig that each level looks very unique and has its own layout.
Staying alive can be difficult, but the game doesn’t penalize you much for dying. Scoring is way more important than surviving, and you are encouraged to collect score multiplier items as quickly as possible even if you have to die to do it.
I love that the power ups get dropped out of little cars that drive across the screen.

Alien Death Mob is a brutalist construction of the twin-stick masterworks before it, which it smelts and reforges into a true arcade experience recontextualized for the home computer.
It asks you not to “win”, but to “shoot”. It asks you not to “finish the level”, but to “get points”. When you get points, you collect stars. With stars, you can play new levels. That’s the foundation of Alien Death Mob, a lovingly crafted showcase of the purest, hardest, most transparent materials with which a game should be made.

Bacon Rebellion
Its worth its price of $4 but it doesn’t try to be worth anything more than that. No extra gamemodes, no multiplayer, no customization options to change gameplay, and no support for modding. This game was supposedly put on the backburner for 7 years and it was just dropped onto Steam with no marketing. Its likely that the developer just wanted this out of development limbo. Adding the fact that there’s only been two small updates in the past few months, its clear that there’s no more plans to add anything to this game any further.

Breakpoint
Introduction
Breakpoint is a twin stick slasher, a new take on the twin stick shooter genre, it’s similar to Geometry Wars but with melee weapons instead of a gun. Raise your multiplier and score big!
Gameplay
You have to destroy the enemies to collect points and charge your weapon by picking up the stars destroyed enemies leave behind. There are twelve different types of enemies, the little green ones only leave stars behind but most of the others leave stars and a multiplier or weapon behind. There are five different weapons you can wield.

satryn deluxe
Satryn Deluxe is a fun reimagination of Robotron/Llamatron, an 8-directional twin stick shooter. Shoot all the baddies and collect friends to increase your multiplier. When you die you lose a life and half of your friends. Every 75,000 points a new powerup will spawn.
The levels are procedurally generated, the RNG is a bit strong with levels varying in difficulty and some containing much more friends than others.
It may or may not be the best to way to play it but the game does support (a one handed) controller+mouse in addition to the standard keyboard+mouse and dual stick controller. Which is nice because my dual stick is out of service for the moment and I don’t want to use the keyboard to move my character.

(Revised below.)
A love letter to Robotron 2084 and a great companion title for twin-stick purists who can tolerate only a little spin on a classic. Nice enemy variety and number of weapon drops will keep you engaged. The action is tight but this burns a little slower than its grandfather, quickly allowing new players to play for twenty or more stages after only a handful of runs. That’s okay; this isn’t a greedy arcade machine trying to eat all your quarters as quickly as possible. The late game challenge ramps up nicely and lingering around on one stage is clearly discouraged. All in all, this should be one of those ‘one more go’ games that will keep you up when you should be in bed.

Scoregasm
Very fun twin-stick shooter, amongst the best I’ve played.
The goal is to survive long enough, all while trying to get the best score, hence the name. If you’ve gotten enough points, you can enter some Frenzy mode, where enemies go all out and further increase your score. Depending on your performance, you unlock paths to new levels, categorized by difficulties.
The big twist in the controls is the Close Range Pulse Attack, an explosion that destroys enemy ships and bullets, which uses your energy bar that can only be replenished by letting it recharge or blasting away enough bullets, absorbing their energy. This explosive attack is of utmost importance in your success, as it can get really tense when enemies start cornering you as you desperately try to manage your energy, and there’s an heavy risk/reward factor, which helps boosting your score further. It’s a very fun mechanic.

I recommend this but with one major caution, the score tables are not and have not been functional for approximately three years. Does this make it a bad game? For me no, but this is considered by many to be an essential feature of this type of game. I did contact the developer about this and he responded quickly and did say that he still intends to fix this, but three years really is a long time for anyone to wait. Still I have to credit Charlie for this!
The game itself is good. Not one of the absolute best twin stick shooters in my opinion but well above par for the most part. For casual twin stick players it may well appeal far more than some other twin stick games that I would consider better. If you are just after a fun casual blast then download the demo and if you like it and are not bothered by the high scores issue then get it, you probably won’t regret it.

GraveRun
Early access from 2016 so have to assume this is probably all we get. A bit of a shame really as it has a lot going for it. it’s a really fun little twin stick zombie shooter with a bunch of neat mechanics, upgrades and cute pixel graphics. Seems primarily designed for multiplayer/co-op but it’s great fun solo too. Unfortunately probably owing to early access the campaign is pretty short, still pretty fun though.
Some games that don’t get finished you shrug and move on, some are missed that little bit more, this is one of those that had some real promise to it so it’s a shame we didn’t get to see a bit more it even now.

Fun game to kill time, easy to play and get addicted to. Pixelated graphics, smooth gameplay, many different combinations of weapons allows you to regulate the difficulty of playing the game, some are stronger and synergize better with certain weapons. Although coop is recommended, buying the game at full price is not so.

Cosmoscope
Brilliant wee game!
The progression is done really well. New enemies and abilities are dealt to you at a nice pace and the ways to counter them are intuitive. The game brings in new situations and changes dynamics with each new chapter, which keeps it fresh and builds upon your existing knowledge. It has a really unique concept I haven’t seen in any game before with the Kaleidoscope but still has a really retro feel. Like arcade games of old!
Plus the soundtrack is amazing, not distracting but really sets the mood and keeps you in the zone!
