Batora: Lost Haven
Batora: Lost Haven® combines the features of a hack & slash and a twin-stick shooter in a nonlinear interplanetary story-driven action RPG.
What boundaries would you cross to save your home?
Avril used to be a regular 16-year-old girl, not what you’d call a natural-born hero.
Until a mysterious event devastated the Earth, and she lost everything she cared for.
Now she’s the only one who, with the physical and mental powers that she has been gifted, can attempt to save her planet!
This is how her cosmic journey starts: soon enough, Avril will learn that the line between good and evil is thin. It’s up to her to decide whom to believe: her choices will change the destiny of the universe.
KEY FEATURES

Embers of Mirrim
This is, hands down, the most fun I’ve ever had playing a platformer. The controls are crisp, the mechanics are unique and well thought-out, it’s visually attractive, and the music is great. The single biggest complaint I have about this game is that it’s too short. I finished it in about 5 hours. I would love to have seen the kinds of puzzles they could have put in a longer game.
The difficulty curve isn’t bad. It’s hard enough to be satisfying, but doesn’t get hard so fast that it’s frustrating. There is one puzzle that uses a mechanic that isn’t used anywhere else in the game, and it can be difficult to figure out what the game wants you to do, but other than that, the mechanics have good clarity and the puzzles are fairly intuitive.

I’ve been craving a linear platformer and this really scratched the itch. While I enjoy metroidvanias, I feel like I ’ve been inundated with them of late and I wanted something a little simpler and straightforward, like the NES platformers of yesteryear.
Embers of Mirrim is a very polished puzzle platformer with heavy emphasis on platforming and navigating between sections and light emphasis on puzzle elements. The splitting mechanic adds variety, and the game continues to introduce other small elements to keep the game fresh throughout.

The Last Cadet
A mission gone wrong, an ancient monster awaken!
A private military company is hired to escort a laboratory team in a submarine to recover a valuable specimen near an abandoned deep sea facility. As the laboratory team and part of the military personnel explore the target site, things go wrong almost immediately. An ancient monster attacks the submarine and sinks it, ruining the submarine’s communication links. A mere cadet, John “Flash Pan” Pinback is the team’s last hope at survival as the only escape route is a mini-sub that’s in bad need of replacement parts, which Flash Pan can find and fix. Meanwhile, Captain Valeria Buenrostro must search the submarine and target site to save her squad members while dealing with constant sabotage from an unknown source.
Twin-stick action-driven survival horror in a 1-bit, deep sea metroidvania!
Play the individual stories of Flash Pan and Captain Buenrostro to discover the truth behind the ill-fated mission and unravel the not so abandoned deep sea facility, all the while surviving the wrath of an ancient monster and a submarine filled with mutated versions of electric eels, jellyfish, and sharks.
Make the most of available resources and dive into an array of weapons with unique ways to use them!
Light is scarce with the only sources being the few working lamps, resident bioluminescent marine life, and the deep sea suit. Use twin stick controls to survive the horrors that are drifting in the darkness with multiple weapons, some of which can be used in unique ways like dashing with the harpoon gun, high jumping with the shotgun’s recoil, and busting open stuck doors with a flamethrower-like welding kit.
Play with a friend and sink together into a world 20,000 pixels below normalcy …
Couch co-op experience with multiple modes as Flash Pan and Captain Buenrostro. Take on waves of enemies coming at you at full strength or complete missions together from clearing enemies from specific areas to scavenger hunts.

Nazi Labs
I mean its an alright game when it’s on sale anyway but the main reason I got it is because I wanted to collect the trading cards to make the badges that this game had. The game itself does in fact keep me entertained though I really wish it still had its badges…
Sorry although the game itself is alright I’m really upset that it doesn’t have its badges anymore…
-Maybe bring the badges back for this game??

You occasionally get lots of drops on the first few stages which really helps and got me to the end. This is a pretty basic game but it has a bad b movie charm about it, enough to keep me entertained.

Great storytelling and multiple endings
Rogue Star Rescue
Rogue Star Rescue is a fun top down twin stick shooter that really shines when it comes to multiplayer. There are a variety of guns, each with a fairly unique feel, to find and use to blast through the levels. The main story mode features a variety of levels connected in a branching map (think Starfox 64). Each different path has a potential way to reach one of the 32 different endings. This coupled with the randomized room layouts, guns, and items gives Rogue Star Rescue a fair bit of replay-ability. The core gameplay loop is fun, and there are multiple higher difficulties where enemies are more numerous to keep things from feeling too easy. There is a whole trap system, but that only comes into play during boss battles at the end of each stage. There is a wave survival mode focused around those boss rooms if you want to focus on the tower defense aspect of the game.

This is a great multiplayer game. I had plenty of fun with friends on this one. It can be challenging but not alright unforgiving. A good game to pickup for professionals looking for a slightly more relaxed time and some laughs, or for a new player to this genre to pick up this style of game.
There is multiple routes, a few characters, unlockables, and difficulty selector for one to want to replay the game multiple times. There was some quirky moments like somehow I’m inside a room and my friend will teleport into the room and land right into enemy fire, or on rare occasions where the door won’t open for them at all causing me to have to clear the room by self. Overall, no too devastating bugs that is a deal breaker. I am sure they will be smoothed out over time.

I, W.O.M.A.N.
I, W.O.M.A.N. is a Twin-Stick Arena Shooter with a Sci-Fi theme and story. With a quick-to-start design, you can start blasting robots within seconds of loading the game. Use a variety of futuristic weapons and power-ups to fight rampaging robots using your keyboard or game controller.
Start by customizing your Weaponized Operational Military Android Network (W.O.M.A.N.) character. Your task is ensuring the safety of the humans kept aboard the spacecraft in suspended animation. Unfortunately, a computer virus of unknown origin, for now known as The Malware, is taking over the ship’s service bots. As a W.O.M.A.N., you are independent of this ship’s internal network, and you operate autonomously, which allows you to fight off this intruding threat. Your only hope of saving the humans in stasis is to repel the rogue robots from that section of the ship, then work your way to the Bridge to reboot the Central Computer, which will theoretically purge The Malware.

Check out this awesome retro shooter. Apparently most people have been completing it in 2-3 hours but I’m 3 hours in and only 1/2-2/3 through the game. Gameplay is simple but a little unusual (in a good way). Really have a lot of fun with it!
The best way I can describe this is as a “top down metroidvania” with bullet hell elements. Exploring is as fun as clearing rooms. Retro graphics are simplistic but well done. Challenging and very fun.

NEAR DEADline
I love this game so much! I have been loving it ever since I played it back on newgrounds, it controls like dogshit but I still love the gameplay! I especially love the into cutscene and all the sprite work in the game, very cartoony and lovable!
Also the coding is nice, this is for you, brandy. Still never got credited for the clown animation. 9/10

“Password incorrect; Password should be vali:d”
7.5/10 — A lot of self-mockery and humour — indicating we shouldn’t take this free piece to_o serious — but definitely worth my time!
PS I’m not the artist here, but if you are, check this out! I assume it’s not just another joke ;-)
