The Falconeer

The Falconeer

Alright, here’s the dealio, I saw this game before it was released and was instantly enamored by open world flying and dog fighting mechanics (something I’ve dabbled in before and liked). I followed it very closely until it released and bought it almost immediately when it was available. At first I used a controller to play the game, unsure if keyboard and mouse worked (my preferred method), it was a bit wonky and the controls took some time to get used to. While the game says its not keyboard and mouse supported I play it keyboard and mouse anyway, my fingers are not suited for basic controller controls so when it can be keyboard and mouse that is my go to any and every time regardless if its made for it or not. Using my preferred control system does increase my enjoy-ability to play the game (because duh I can actually PLAY the game this way).

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.

Above the clouds, freedom must be boundless… or not, as The Falconeer shows us. Our falcon makes it only just above the clouds. Most of the time we fly either very close to the ground or at cloud height, but not much higher. That makes sense, because it’s damn cold up there and the oxygen is a bit scarce.

Amidst The Darkness

Amidst The Darkness

Amidst The Darkness is a truly terrifying first-person survival horror game developed and published by Loneminded.

Dragged, bloodied and bruised into old dilapidated worker halls, Amidst The Darkness follows the story of a sadistic entity - known informally as The Being. Trawl your way through old abandoned halls and sewers in a bid to find an escape.

No matter where you go, or the route that you take, The Being will unpredictably follow your every move. Creeping closer step-by-step, inch-by-inch until it is within reaching distance. The crows scarpering from their nest nearby, or that unmistakable slow-moving silhouette in the distance - it beckons upon thee.

Features

  • Immersive First-Person Horror: Navigate through chilling, immersive environments

  • Truly Unsettling Story: Experience and uncover the story of old workers and The Being.

  • Unpredictable Enemies: Each playthrough will play differently with help from the unpredictability of AI.

  • Full Gamepad Support: Prefer sitting back and enjoying the experience? Now you can - Amidst The Darkness has full controller support.

This game is highly recommended. I thought it was no difficulty, but I died countless times and suffered a lot. In short, this game verygood has passed the customs in two hours. Now it is playing hard core difficulty. We must buy it to play.

Myastere -Ruins of Deazniff-

i’ll give it 5/5, its pretty difficult to control the character while mid-grapple but once you get the hang of it its all easy, also it would be cool if we can store health potions.

The English translation was likely done by a computer, but the Umihara Kawase-style rubbering action is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. If you love Umihara and need more like I do, you’ll enjoy this game. For anyone else, probably stay away.

AccidentHouse

If there ever was a game to excite the heart and give you constant twists and turns this is it. I have studied this game for over 20 minutes and have mastered the horrors of Accident House. I really can’t state the euphoric high that comes with mastering this game I look forward to speedrunning it at AGDQ in the future. I achieved 100% achievements and let me you tell you this gem is worth every penny.

As to be expected with an early access game, its a bit broken. Hallways and rooms are too small to dodge monsters. Turning off your flashlight to hide is only useful up to the second key, after that you they can and will find you. Health doesn’t regenerate so you have to rely on checkpoints because unless you are lucky, you will eventually get hit one too many times. One positive thing I can say is the first jump scare did in fact genuinely scare me, which is very hard to do. The dark atmosphere and gliding/slow motions had me distracted JUST enough. It has potential, but needs some tender love and care to be something more. At its current state, its just more frustrating than scary.

Volcanoids

Volcanoids

It’s a bit more objective oriented than the usual craft/survival game I’m familiar with, especially with the cyclic nature of needing to dive underground with your mobile base during the frequent disasters. Having it as a mobile base was rather refreshing compared to other settings where the base is in one location and that tends to make resources convenient or not. The version I played was a while ago, and at the time battle was rather simple, and there didn’t seem to be too much benefit to use any weapon aside the hand mortar and grenades but I have to emphasize that was during the version I played.

Gun play is fun, and it’s exciting to see your ship being built bigger and bigger. The hot keys were a little weird at first but not unacceptable. Overall, I like it.

Plushie Dungeon

Plushie Dungeon

Plushie dungeon is game about difficuilt time management, where you must choose between your Bossie and your Plushie. Idea is to make the game complex enough that you will have to know what is your priority before every action. But as time goes far, priorities will change..

Ah, who turned of the light?! Well, me!

Plushie Dungeon is game with the dungeons, obviously. So be prepared for darkness and things that crawling in it. You can put the fire on, but even fire is not going to last forever. Every time you sleep ( or you try to hide yourself in the MENU ) fire goes off everywhere.

Slime Sprint

Slime Sprint

The Basics:

Sprint through lava ridden dungeons and attempt to achieve the best time possible in this arcade style, challenging 2D platformer. With 30 levels and 120 medals to achieve, becoming the best will be no easy task. With integrated steam achievements and leaderboards, there is plenty to play for in this challenging platformer.

Levels and Obstacles:

The levels in Slime Sprint consist of three stages. Firstly a dungeon theme with many spikes and lots of lava to avoid. Secondly a snow level with added icicles and slippery platforms, then finally the third set themed around meadows with harder jumping obstacles, flying rocks and more spikes. While the stages start reasonably easy, worry not, they become much more difficulty the further you progress into the game. If you get stuck on a specific level, don’t threat, you can always skip it and come back later.

Medals and Coins:

Each level has 4 medals: bronze, silver, gold and diamond, but only the truly worthy can beat the hardest time and achieve the diamond medals. Earning medals will reward the player with gold to buy new skins and trails, although this will not make the levels any easier, at least you can attempt to achieve greatness in style.

Leaderboards:

With built in Steam leaderboards, you can see your position in the global community and how you compare with the best. Your score is calculated by multiplying your level time by one hundred, so the lower the score the better. You can also see how you hold up against those on your steam friends list.

Skins:

With 10 skins to unlock and more coming, there is a skin for any style. Pick up gems and complete levels to earn gold to spend in the store.

Trails:

Trails refers to the dust particles that follow the player when jumping and changing direction. Earn gold to unlock more styles of trail along with bigger and longer trails. Be sure to try and match your trail and skin, we wouldn’t want you looking unfashionable.
