This game is as advertised. My son always wants to join in during the few times I get time to game. Being able to help him develop some computer skills and have fun at the same time is worth it.

This game sucks. Do not buy it. My 3 year old knows his geography. I bought it for the geography puzzle, but the game will not allow him to play any of them until he beats the baby games, which bore him. So, i fully wasted $12.99. my 3 yr old is not distracted at all. The baby is screaming and i fucking HATE this computer game passionately.

Adventures of Bruce

Adventures of Bruce

This is a fantasy-themed match 3 / jigsaw puzzle mashup.

Players that like match 3 blast games, may appreciate a different take on match 3. You are not merely collecting, but also attempting to solve for a pretty pattern.

It has input accessibility and difficulty settings which can make the experience not only accessible, but therapeutic (the easiest setting). This game can be played with keyboard only, or game-pad only (2 button mode supported), or of course with touch or mouse.

Overall a pretty solid platformer. Great boss design, honestly. I wish there was a boss rush mode in the game. Very visually appealing artwork, and a very catchy soundtrack. Only major complaint that I’d have is the difficulty spike in the second to last level is pretty steep, only to fall off significantly come the final level.

It is actually a very nice game, once you get into it. Provides very fun gameplay with a beautiful soundtrack, and I like the fact that it has local co-op to make the game more fun and a bit easier with the extra help. The game has a lot of potential to improve and add new things in further updates. I would personally recommend a third player local co-op option, and I think some other people would too. Thou I do understand that it would have to squeeze the players health and weapon stamina bars, making them very small. Hopefully there is an alternative solution to this problem. My second suggestion is just to add some new enemies, and maybe a weapon too. But all in all, so far this has been an extremely fun game for me and my friends to play together, and I hope that there will be updates very soon:)

This game is very fun and hard to master but once you get the hang of it. The game somehow becomes even more challenging as you try to beat the it under 10 minutes I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a casual play-through. I’m looking forwards to further development in the future.

Simply Puzzles: Junctions

Simply Puzzles: Junctions

a simple to learn but hard to master puzzle game. Nothing more, nothing less.

They are not kidding with the title, the game is REALLY simple to learn. Simpler than say sudoku, even simpler than minesweeper, but with similar levels of complexity when you get really into it. The game has 100 levels for you that start of pretty small that you can do in about 5 minutes, to eventually ballooning to puzzles that take 30 minutes or longer. As far as I could tell you really did not need to ever guess, but there were definitely some puzzles where it felt like you had to guess. I would rate the medium levels very highly, being enjoyable to figure out but not too easy, but the higher levels tended to drag. Maybe you can figure out a better way, but I found myself needing to try a long branch of possibilities just to eliminate a single move that really ground the game to a halt.

This is a fun collection of Gokigen Naname (Slant) type puzzles which should be quite enjoyable for anyone who enjoys logic puzzle games. There’s 100 of them, all of which are available from the start of the game, so if you get stuck on one, you can always just skip forward a bit, if you like. The game’s definitely worth it for the asking price. The Linux version worked like a charm, too!

Apart from simply figuring out the various axiomatic deductions throughout the game (I hadn’t played this particular kind of puzzle before, so it was new to me), the levels are all more or less the same – there won’t be new mechanics or anything like that. Mostly the levels just get bigger as you progress through. The difficulty curve is a little bit sporadic; I found that I’d get stuck on one for a little while but then blow right through the next few.

Family Mysteries 3: Criminal Mindset

Family Mysteries 3: Criminal Mindset

Each chapter in this Artifex Mundi series features a different protagonist. The unifying theme is (tragic and at times disturbing) family secrets and a mystery to unravel. FM3: Criminal Mindset is one of the better new AM games, although it is still light on challenge. The plot is bizarre and a little spooky, and includes biomedical psychology (of the scifi-light horror genre) and conspiracies within conspiracies. That said, if you suspend your disbelief, there are some interesting HO scenes, better than (recent) average puzzles, and the protagonist is intelligent and very likeable.

A little light on hidden object scenes, although there are plenty of mini-game puzzles. Hidden object scenes and mini-game puzzles are not randomised, the solutions are the same for each playthrough.

There are a couple of tricky puzzles, what makes the game overly difficult however is the “Unmistakable” achievement which is supposed to pop after completing a hidden object scene without any mistakes. Sadly however it is bugged and actually pops when you complete a scene in less than 60 seconds without any mistakes, and due to morphing objects and items hidden behind or within other items, it makes for a very difficult achievement to earn as a result.

ARIA CHRONICLE

ARIA CHRONICLE

Really good turn-based RPG game with a lite Darkest Dungeon exploration style. Less punishing than DD but is damn fun nonetheless. Here are my opinions.

Good things:

  • Classes are cool and non feel as if their skill sets are useless. Roles (DPS, healer, support, mixed, etc) are somewhat still a thing but can mix and match as one prefers (at moment, I have been 3 playthrough including Arena with different mix of classes). DLC invoker is weak imo but someone might find a combo that work well.

Real player with 102.1 hrs in game

It’s a very fun little game.

The gameplay loop in battle is focused on buffs, debuffs, timing burst windows and sustaining your party only when necessary. It can take a bit of time to get used to things like action order - which is based on speed and can be manipulated to set up burst, elemental weaknesses and secondary elemental effects, and the prevalence of strong debuffs that can shut your party down completely if you ignore them. Of specific note is the poison debuff, which in other rpgs is a ticking dot, but here is a 3 turn countdown which instantly kills the afflicted character. Another strong one is electrocution, which prevents the use of skills, and since the entire game is based around skills, it’s one to cleanse immediately (until later on in the game where you get some gear that actually makes you stronger while electrocuted!) Definitely get used to checking your tooltips.
