Combat Mission Black Sea

Combat Mission Black Sea

Combat Mission is a unique wargame that offers solid presentation while giving you granular detail to allow for interesting solutions to tactical problems. It fairly accurately allows you to simulate anything from Platoon to Battalion sized engagements at a high level of detail.

Presentation

While the animations and graphics do look a bit dated they get the job done. Where Combat Mission really excels at though is in the we-go mode that allows you to review a turn from multiple angles. This means that you can watch every engagement that is happening on the field and catch all of those cool moments. Where in other games if you aren’t looking then you’ll be left wondering “how did this tank get knocked out”.

Conditional recommendation only.

Black Sea in certain cases seem to be more unstable than Shock Force 2. I think it’s important for newcomers or potential buyers to take note of the fact that while the game itself is much better than it looks in terms of gameplay and depth, in certain instances it can either wind up unstable (crashes) or become very problematic performance-wise. It’s a toss-up whether you’d have to tinker with the game, i.e. setting up antivirus exceptions, overriding application settings for your GPU, or some other tweaks to not only get the game running, but also get the game to a stable point where crashes are few and far between. A zero-crash experience may or may not be achievable, and the factors that play into said crashes can vary so wildly from system to system as far as I’ve both experienced and researched.

New Combat Mission convert here. 8/10 would get my tank platoon massacred again, and again. This is a very good tactical wargame, if a dated engine at a steep price-point. The game is unforgiving though. Ironicly the NTC “training” campaign is the most unforgiving IMO. Forces you to learn the hard way I guess. If you want great graphics look elsewhere, and be prepared to deal with some buggy input lag too. But if you can get over that, and the (realistic) poor pathing choices your tank commanders sometimes make, the gameplay is really good. Now it just needs the rest of NATO and the Pact to be great.

Gomoku Let’s Go

Gomoku Let’s Go

Honestly been eyeing it this whole time and I think the developer has made a pretty solid game, and also offers quite a lot of support and constant updates. I hope the devs make a Go game in the future because what they have going with this one is proof enough they can go beyond Gomoku and into the 19x19, it’d be pretty dope I think.

This game is sooooooo fun with friends, literally the only thing I could ask for is a mode with multiple boards so multiple friends can play at the same time. Please please please make more games like this, make go, make shogi, I will buy them for everyone.

OIL PATCH SIMULATIONS

OIL PATCH SIMULATIONS

i have been playing the game for several months now. there are no problems with this game. everything works properly. technical support is outstanding. i had a problem starting the game because of my system setup is unique and the game itself gives you info on how to contact support. an impressive first for me. the game tells you what is wrong with it and how to fix it. nice. simple fix takes seconds just enter a special code and it fixes itself to work on my system. never heard of that before. top notch game support.

so it says to purge drill rigs to relocate and various other commands that do not have options associated with them. how exactly does this work? do i write my own script to implement these dynamics that supposedly exist or do i just accept the fact that the game is not only broken but not even complete?

Only just started ( i understand it’s an older game - 2013 moved from Matrix to Steam ) and i love the options given - lots of settings to choose and customize your gameplay experience - clean presentation on map , ultra wide screen support , different units ( ranging from battalions to divisions ) - the abbility to switch to nato symbols + fog of war = a winning combination for me - hope the AI is competent enough ;-D - totally recommended for ww2 turn based fans !

Police Shootout

Police Shootout

WELCOME TO SAN ADRINO

Your name is Scott Price and you just started your first shift as police officer in a small city of San Adrino. You moved here from a bigger place where street gang fights are everyday life.

SO LET ME ASK YOU…

Why did a policeman like you – the one who was doing well in a big city suddenly wants to take a chance in a place like this? What are you looking for here? What is your reason? Or maybe… What is your secret?

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE GAME…

Start your adventure with “Police: Shootout” and meet not only the main character (Scott Price), but also everyone who is important to his story. As a good policeman, you will answer even the most difficult calls. A shop robbery, or even a hostage situation - you have to be prepared for anything! But remember – it’s only up to you how you approach a specific situation.

WHAT KIND OF COP YOU WILL BE? WHAT IS YOUR STYLE OF SOLVING THE CASES?

There are many possibilities to do this right - sometimes the use of a gun is necessary, and sometimes a well-chosen argument is the best possible weapon.

Each of these situations brings you closer to finding what you’re looking for… And of course to be a better cop! The correct approach to the calls will allow you to expand your experience - the higher it is, the more benefits you’ll get. Your skills will grow the way you want, and this will allow you to complete new missions faster and more efficiently.

LET’S GET TO WORK!

Are you ready to step in and get it right? Don’t wait any longer, the first call is waiting for you!

Just play the game and see for yourself!

Can’t give this one a good review, sadly. The bits and pieces seem nice, but it doesn’t make for a fun gaming experience.

The art and music is perhaps the best aspect of the game, the controls work fine as well.

That said the game feels very under-documented, and the games do not seem very fun or balanced, I win every time without even knowing what I am doing.

Perhaps the biggest weakness is that you cannot gain experience points except in multiplayer, and I have never been able to find anyone else to play it with.

Power Pushout

Power Pushout

Power Pushout is a turn-based strategy game with martial arts elements set in an epic asian environment. Choose your warrior and master figures and fight with them in a wild battle over the control of the game board. You can either push your opponent off the ground or conquer the opposing towers to decide the game. But be careful that your enemy doesn’t sneak past your troops like a ninja and usurp victory.

MAIN FEATURES

  • Defeat your opponent with cool finishing moves, sword assaults and kung fu kicks are on the agenda.

  • Choose your warrior and master figures, and combine their Power Points to destroy your opponent’s pieces.

  • Use the included map editor to create your own Zen garden. The smart placement system helps you get results quickly under full control.

  • You can trigger Earthquakes or add Super Crystals to surprise your opponent.

Super Crystals provide your character with extra power or a greater range of movement.

  • Power Pushout offers you four different game modes:

    Classic, Normal, Destruction and Football.

Each mode can be played online or locally versus a friend or an AI, which is based on machine learning and smart heuristics.
