Soul Reaper

Soul Reaper

Soul Reaper quickly hooks player attention with an effectively deployed progression system, and does a fine job in offering multiple avenues to keep engagement levels high. While enjoyable for the most part, its grindy nature can render it tiresome, and the current lack of proper side quests beyond feats leaves something to be desired. Still, it’s a good debut, and a fresh ambassador for the RPG genre that leaves a lasting impression by defying convention.

Really nice, and fast paced; monster-catching strategy RPG. The game has aspects of idle-game style gameplay, however the strategy comes from squad optimisation, gear socketing, and order placement (there are ‘row bonuses’ available, but those’re kinda beyond me at the current time of writing, lol).

I made a fairly in-depth, but still very early, impressions video; available here:

Really looking forward to discovering more monsters, and more strategic optimisation in the hours and days to follow.

Dream Quest, Desktop Dungeons, Slay the Spire - if you like those you’ll probably enjoy this game! I’m loving it so far.

As of this review there’s plenty of bugs but nothing that ruined the game. If that bothers you perhaps wait a bit.

Even in EA, it’s already fun. The mechanics of the skills and spells are an interesting mashup. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this game goes and am happy to support now.

EN: If you like rogelikes, this game is a must for you. The aesthetics are beautiful and controls feel smooth. I love raider’s interactions between them. The main mechanic of the Game is well executed, alongside with the RNG, which feels fair, though sometimes you would like to smash your keyboard because you’ve failed an 87% shot chance. I cannot wait to reach the goal of the game and unravel its secrets, alongside with its easter eggs. Thank you so much, again, OP Team. Looking forward to know what else you are capable of doing :)

Great game, if you just like the combat in turn based tactical games, minus the over world and doing research.

Instead upgrades are droped, looted or crafted and permanent upgrades are made before the start of each run, making up for the rogue-light side of the game even when you die, you can use the currencey you made while playing to make meaningful upgrades.

Each biome has 3 levels on the 3rd level is a boss fight, as many other rogue-like/lights each biome has a theme and adjusting your gear and playstyle for each biome can make or break a run.

Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower

Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower

429.4h (2021Nov16). The final Trial. Stage tells Power 78+, in fact there are summoners, two lvl 44 (power 88) and one lvl 45 (power 90). I understand that people might think, this is a waste of time. That I needed that number of hours is not the point. The point is, the final chapter of the main campain is labeled ‘Power 80+’ This suggests, 4**** champions might do it. Fubar (you know what I mean, if you saw ‘Saving Private Ryan’)

260.1h and counting (2021Aug29). The Warhammer universe is permanent at war, good vs. evil, whatsoever. Warhammer Silver Tower provides fantasy and roleplaying (what you probably would expect from a Warhammer game), presented in a quite modern tile based menue. So you have to put in a little phantasy of your own to bring fantasy alive.

Straightforward turn based game with nice quick play cycles. It is fairly intuitive so you can get stuck in quickly and the graphics are good. Lots of interesting characters to acquire, but getting them takes a lot of grind and they are generated randomly so you can end up getting the same one you don’t want several times :(

It is a great time waster and I like that you play for a little or as long as you like without having to worry about remembering information between games.

Some satisfying moments when using special powers and blowing up in game objects to take out monsters.

i have been playing the game for several months now. there are no problems with this game. everything works properly. technical support is outstanding. i had a problem starting the game because of my system setup is unique and the game itself gives you info on how to contact support. an impressive first for me. the game tells you what is wrong with it and how to fix it. nice. simple fix takes seconds just enter a special code and it fixes itself to work on my system. never heard of that before. top notch game support.

so it says to purge drill rigs to relocate and various other commands that do not have options associated with them. how exactly does this work? do i write my own script to implement these dynamics that supposedly exist or do i just accept the fact that the game is not only broken but not even complete?

Wanted to hold off reviewing it until I beat +15. If you’re looking for a new deckbuilder, I’d recommend this one. I’ve played Slay the Spire, Monster Train, and a few others, and this one really made me want to thoroughly complete it. There is enough variety and unique combinations that really makes each run fun and challenging. It’s not perfect (I’ll talk about that below), but it’s worth the coin.

Positive:

*Gem system adds a fun element that makes some not so useful cards viable.

*The large deck angle adds more ways to build around bad cards.

I unfortunately can’t leave a positive review. I am a linux user. Before buying this game, I checked and saw that the game worked fine with steam compatilibity tools, so I bought it. The game was working perfectly. Then they added an update, which added some random visual bugs (slightly annoying but nothing major) as well as some random game crashes (around once every 1h30 of play for me, but since I’m slow and runs were about 2h30 that was quite annoying). Then the last major update hit, claiming some bugfixes. Cool. I do not experience any bug anymore since my game doesn’t even launch anymore. I’ve tried switching the compatilibity modes, proton versions…etc… to no avail, the game doesn’t launch anymore.

This is another GREAT game by Orfeas. I played the demo at Aldorlea, but waited for the game to come out here on Steam.

This game has so much going for it: great graphics, full screen, secret rooms to discover, great story, visible enemies who don’t respawn (yayyy), several game modes, including Story mode as the easiest mode, and Nightmare as the hardest mode, and - something I haven’t seen before - you can choose “Followers on/off, which means that if you go for off, you won’t see the other characters trailing behind you, which always annoyed me in other games.

interesting game - beautiful graphics with secret rooms and extra special secret rooms - a skill tree allows the player to build up each character and there is plenty of places to gather monies for items- a detailed quest guide helps with the game- story wise - an interesting one. the help sheets available do help with the game but detailed maps would be helpful in some of the caverns as would a portal to be able to return to same place after voiding out instead of having to repeat going through again. battles are not that hard in the normal mode as long as you have plenty of items. would recommend this game
