Pillars Of Protection

Pillars Of Protection

Pillars of Protection is a team-based tower defense game. Towers can move and take on complex movement patterns over time. You can play online multiplayer in PvP or PvE modes. Build a base to protect your core from the onslaught of incoming monsters. Play as a shooter, melee, mover, or healing hero. Join or create a team to work synergistically to overcome the hoards of monsters.

At the core, this game is a tower defense game where you must survive rounds of monsters. Towers can change location and you can define a position path for any tower to follow. You can strategically define paths and coordinate various towers to work systematically together. There are healing towers, stun turrets, defensive turrets, and boulders.

Can’t resize things, and in fact if you try using unity command lines to resize it yourself and window it, it MAXIMIZES ANYWAY. The in-game option to window it doesn’t let you change the resolution, so you just have a giant bordered window. Why the fuck would they not only exclude basic options but refuse to let you resize it with unity’s built in tools?

Element TD 2 - Tower Defense

This game has most of what you’d ever expect out of a Tower Defense and more.

  • There is a campaign that as of writing this contains two chapters(more coming) with plenty of achievements tied to it that you can go for if you want a bigger challenge, it will most likely take some figuring out either way, especially if you want to clear it on Very Hard. You get points for clearing missions and use those points to customize your loadout for each mission. I enjoyed this part of the game more than I expected seeing as I’m not much of a “campaign guy”, but there it is, the developers did a great job on it.

If you have ever liked tower defense games this is for you. It has everything; challenging campaign with achievements, hints if you work for a living and can’t devote endless hours to devise the best strategy, hints that you can also turn off if you like the hard path. You can change the modes from easy to insane, multiplayer with leader boards, a variety of maps, and they are changeable to your style and preference of play. I normally play everything from WOW, Diablo and Starcraft to Steam games like Blackthorne Arena and Ultimate General to Civ6 in a given week, but that has stopped since I found this. I was consumed with beating everything through Chapter 3 and getting 4 stars on each part of the Chapters and all of the achievements. Absolutely the best game for this price on Steam today. I want to do Chapter 4 now but since the patch I am even more interested in replaying all of the first 3 chapters again. That says it all right there. This game is just fun and I haven’t even tried the multiplayer yet because I didn’t think I was good enough until I mastered the chapters in the campaign first. Oh and it can be paused while online so you don’t have to worry about spending 45 minutes into a survival game and right when the ronalds hit real life interferes and you either have to pause the game or lose everything. The creators thought of everything in this game. My highest recommendation for anyone that likes this genre.

Great game to play with friends!

I’ve played the first 3 levels on hard difficulty with 2 other friends, but we will definitely continue playing all levels.

Pro:

  • Fun and hectic gameplay

  • Levels feel unique and bring new challenges

  • Hard difficulty feels well balanced

  • Smooth experience overall, no hiccups while playing

Negative:

  • Graphics are outdated, but this does not impact the fun gameplay at all

  • Some objects were hard to see (like turrets), maybe this could be improved with more contrast or saturation

I don’t think I can review this game without comparing it to Overcooked. If you like Overcooked and if you like tower defence games, then Forge Squad might be worth your time!

It is not quite as intuitive as Overcooked; e.g. as humans we know pizza belongs in the oven, but we don’t know how to forge runes.

However, once you get the hang of it, there are some things about Forge Squad that offers more depth than Overcooked!

For example, Forge Squad offers more scope for cooperation than Overcooked. You don’t just focus on your own personal task; a number of crafts require multiple players for optimal execution. Nice!

lol this game is FREAKING AWESOME the more I play it the more I love it,

seriously (not sarcasm) this is easily one of the best games on Steam,

takes fps ‘skill’, has all kinds of upgrades and weapons and turrets and barricades to get, all kinds of strategies to try out and test,

has solo and multiplayer etc etc

-Easily- one of the most under-rated games on steam, and maybe one of the biggest ‘hidden gems’ I ever played in my whole gaming life.

Anyone down-voting this either came in with massive preconceptions about the game or was expecting something else, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this game other than it’s too short (lol),

Initial Reaction:

The Good:

I like this game a lot - really fun co-op with friends. Small community which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. You can share weapons you craft with friends which is pretty cool. The game has a lot of potential and I’m excited to see where the developers take it. I like that you can instantly reorganize your defense between rounds (if you misplace a turret or wall, there is an “undo” option which can be used immediately or in any round after).

A game that truly grasps the idea of helping those in dire need to escape their reality.

After allowing peru to play on our servers, and bought accounts in 4-6k. This game has truly made a better place to find friends of South America, and help people fully understand the hardships and struggles these people go through by having feeding South Americans only play Pos 1-2 or jungle. It opened up a world of hard working, can collecting children to gather change and be fortunate enough to play at their internet cafe’s and flood US West/East. God Bless them.

Dungeon Defenders II

Dungeon Defenders II

I tried. I really, really tried.

Ever since I bought this game in 2014, I continued to throw my time and genuine effort at it, hoping to get at the very least a decent sequel to DD1. I even ignored the very clear warning sign that was the release of DD Eternity (DD1 was abandoned to hackers, then repacked and…sold again under a new name, wham, bam, profit). Today, with the game about ready to leave yet another developement stage, instead of having hope and tons of fun playing the game, I am disgusted and bitterly dissapointed.

Real player with 1862.6 hrs in game

Don’t bother with Dungeon Defenders 2 or Trendy Entertainment. Their incessant greed has instilled levels of disgust in me that I scarcely could previously fathom.

For a bit of background, allow me to preface this by telling you that I hold no nostalgia for the original Dungeon Defenders. This is a combination of their lack of security leading to rampant hackers and my disdain for the original character styles. I played this game a bit when it first came out, and dropped in now and again to see how it was doing. My tenure here became permanent with the Terraria crossover content, and I’ve remained fairly steady to the game since. I’ve done some Mastery, climbed up Onslaught, and dabbled in Ancient Power Resets. I’ve seen a lot of what there is to see, and let me tell you, originally, the allure was the cartoony, bright graphics and enjoyable combat. However, beneath this veneer of vibrant paint lies a decrepit, hollow experience designed to consume your wallet.

Scrapshoot

Scrapshoot

Scrapshoot is the true definition of a party game. While the AI is fun to battle against the game becomes a blast when you get your friends involved. I think this is the kind of game you hop on occasionally and end up sinking hours of fun into it. Super easy to learn, a variety of hat options, and the unique match modifiers offer a lot in variation of gameplay from round to round.

Don’t let this game go under your radar! I’d give it 9 scraps out of 10; super excited to see what the devs whip up in future updates!

Thunderballs VR is a free VR shooter game in Early Access. It worked on my system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. I tried the training, which is a solo game. Has some instructions in the training but not enough. You have hand gun and shield. You can control cannons, which are more powerful but mounted.

Try this game, if you like PvP shooter game.
