Ash of Legends

Ash of Legends

I’ve played some of the beta builds and I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played. They have done a lot of work since they’ve released their first(?) demo and the game is polishing up nicely. They have improved upon pretty much every aspect.

The devs seem to be very accepting of criticism and seem to be working hard to release an excellent VR game.

If a tower-defense fps hybrid with grappling hooks sounds like your type of game, then this game might be for you. Keep in mind that they are still working on the game, however.

It is a super fun game with a lot of potential.

The developer is responsive to feedback and does a great job communicating progress.

I wish this game all the best.

Thoughts and review: https://youtu.be/DyTIZASarwk

Disclaimer: (I only got to day 36)

Overall it’s a good not great game it’s VERY simple, but the creators did a really good job on nailing down quality of life things in the game. You only get one weapon, but the upgrades are pretty much everything you would want for it accuracy, firing speed, damage, and lowering the overheating. There only seems to be 4 enemies in the game that I got to and the game gets pretty mind numbing the achievements seem like they are super easy to get though. I like that they tell you how many you’re going to have to kill in the game, but even if you kill them as you spawn the number increases every wave making it longer not harder but longer so the waves all take a minute+ which just extends the playtime unnecessarily for the content available. If there’s more enemies/stuff later in the game it takes way to long to get to it I think it took me 56 minutes to kill 35 waves. So 365 waves would have taken like 8-10 hours of very simple game play it doesn’t look like there’s a 2x speed option or even a time skip at any point so it’s going to test your mental fortitude if you want all the achievements for the price it’s good though everything seems to work.

Defend the Fort

Defend the Fort

Was asked to check this game out. I have been playing the same game for over 8 years. I thought why not. I am all about new developers!

Overall Game was fun. Its a tower defense style. I found a way to cheese it but I think as the game grows the developers has so much they could add. I think adding task could help keep you moving and not keeping things up to speed. Also maybe adding the guns to break after an amount of time. I will say this is a fun game that is well worth the few bucks they are asking. I would like to see more additions in the future but overall I played over and hour and didn’t realized it had been that long.

Fun game to play, it doesn’t get boring and it doesn’t make you rage. Price is reasonable.

When the game will have multiplayer mode, it will be alot better and way more fun to play. I’m waiting for the update.

Edit: multiplayer mode is out and the game got alot better! Great progress.

Rogue Star Rescue

Rogue Star Rescue

Rogue Star Rescue is a fun top down twin stick shooter that really shines when it comes to multiplayer. There are a variety of guns, each with a fairly unique feel, to find and use to blast through the levels. The main story mode features a variety of levels connected in a branching map (think Starfox 64). Each different path has a potential way to reach one of the 32 different endings. This coupled with the randomized room layouts, guns, and items gives Rogue Star Rescue a fair bit of replay-ability. The core gameplay loop is fun, and there are multiple higher difficulties where enemies are more numerous to keep things from feeling too easy. There is a whole trap system, but that only comes into play during boss battles at the end of each stage. There is a wave survival mode focused around those boss rooms if you want to focus on the tower defense aspect of the game.

This is a great multiplayer game. I had plenty of fun with friends on this one. It can be challenging but not alright unforgiving. A good game to pickup for professionals looking for a slightly more relaxed time and some laughs, or for a new player to this genre to pick up this style of game.

There is multiple routes, a few characters, unlockables, and difficulty selector for one to want to replay the game multiple times. There was some quirky moments like somehow I’m inside a room and my friend will teleport into the room and land right into enemy fire, or on rare occasions where the door won’t open for them at all causing me to have to clear the room by self. Overall, no too devastating bugs that is a deal breaker. I am sure they will be smoothed out over time.

Ultimate Summer

Ultimate Summer

If you’re someone who’s a fan of games where you’re basically a one man army fighting off hundreds of enemies and strategizing on what traps are best to use, where to use them, how long should you mine for rocks and wood to get items, etc. Along with trial and error. This is a game that does it pretty well for the price. For $3 you can’t go wrong with this game. It has a neat art style in it’s cutscenes and in game slight cel shading. Enemies have some neat designs. The game can get addictive and fun. It’s fun to just axe and shoot enemies with the guns provided.

Ultimate Summer

Asmodev’s are back with another banger, following the events from Infernal Radiation. Ultimate Summer takes the storyline further with another twist in the story-arc with a mix of a third-person shooter and tower defense gameplay.

Throughout the game, there are multiple references from the previous game and the story spills over to this one.

## Alien Shooter TD

### Rating: good (7/10)

**Introduction**

Alien Shooter TD is a Tower Defence game based on the alien shooter action game. By building "towers" on pre-defined spots you defend the base by not letting aliens enter certain points.

**Gameplay & Story: 6/10**

The gameplay is somewhat restricted by giving you only certain points where you can build on, but you still have choices of different "towers". These are a bit unusual for a tower defence game - you are basically setting up teams of marines, which as towers in other TD games shoot monster on approaching, but also need ammo and use different weapons. As an example - you have tactical squads that can either slow enemies down by freezing them or burn them over time with a flame thrower. When progressing further into the game, these marines do get multiple new weapons which gives you more possibilities for tactics - build tons of cheap marines or some few more expensive but better ones. The story is almost non-present here, just the usual stuff - defending the world against an alien invasion.

I felt compelled to "100%" the game as much as possible (except for that last achievement), but I was really unsatisfied when playing the game. Towards the end of the game I would basically have it on in the background whilst doing something else.

Whilst it's not an awful TD game, there are much more satisfying ones out there that you should play first, hence the thumbs-down.

Pros:

* You shoot lots of aliens, like in Alien Shooter 1 and 2.

*   I quite like the constant-upkeep-reloading mechanic.

## Armed to the Gears

Armed to the Gears:

It all started with the discovery of the Neutronium base element from a deep excavation in 2029, somewhere near a place named Main City. Neutrium turns out to be a powerful new energy that can be used to power batteries and equipment for hundreds of years. This type of energy is always useful for military purposes, and the countries that have access to the Neutrium start a race to develop the ultimate automated warfare unit. The citizens of the world take to the streets to raise their concerns, but the world turns to chaos, leading to the rise of three terrible factions. The worst of the three, the Ministry, wins the race and now controls the world with these ultimate machines of war. That is, until a rebellion of hackers plans to use the machines against the Ministry. It’s going to be Armed to the Gears!

Don’t get me wrong with this review, I DID have fun… but there are several things wrong with this game. That being said… i only had like 5.5 hrs ACTUAL time played on campaign….. watched a movie with the wife and went to get more beer while the game was still running. (New Predator movie rocks btw). This game does not suck. I know it is in alpha. I want to like this game more, byt they have a lot of work to do

Upgrading is confusing at first.. I feel it should be seperated from the turret menu

Out of Ammo: Death Drive

Out of Ammo: Death Drive

Out of Ammo: Death Drive is a fun game.

The game follows a group of survivors on the road to salvation through the zombie apocalypse.

In it’s current state the game is a single player campaign consisting of seven stages of increasing difficulty. Some of these stages play out similar to the previous game, except this time it is zombies and bandits instead of terrorists. The fundamental concept is still the same, (protect yourself from attackers by building structures), but it Never feels like a reskin of the old game. The collectible resource based economy of this game is also an improvement over the luck based random drop system from the last game. There are also first-person levels that add variety to the campaign.

I would like this game more if the pace fit the level of time spent in the game. Once you leave the main building, you end up being dropped in the “thick” of battle and the zombies aren’t nearly as bad as the bandits (who have guns) are you you’re taking on both with a group who mostly has……handguns? And they can’t even reload themselves? I got into this game to shoot, not play “god” and have to spend all my time worrying about building.

There is a BIG “bug” in the game. The guys, heading to whatever place, can’t shoot on the way. Well, they can after they get there? Do they pull guns out of their anuses after they get there? I mean, i’m just saying. These guys get slaughtered (by bandits) “on the way” to defend and don’t stand a chance. I see that as either a defect in programming or a bug.
