BeeFense BeeMastered

BeeFense BeeMastered

(I got this game free because I have the original beefense)

Beefense is a rts/ td hybrid. You send your bees to harvest resources in between waves. There are 4 resources- pollen, nectar, water, and honeydew.

Pollen- Money, used for building/ leveling up new towers and spawning new bees.

Nectar- Fuel. If it runs out, your bees will perform poorly.

Water- used to give towers a boost, improving firing rate, range, and I think damage.

Honeydew- Special Currency, used to unlock tower upgrades, beesearch, free caged bees, and buy ding balls and black ninja wasps.

Simple tower defense with a simple chummy plot. Having fun.

Downside….

Some things are not clear at all which leads to cons.

  1. Rolling Dungballs with mouse and keyboard. Even after finding thru a 3rd party, it takes alot of finesse to right click and drag the ball.

  2. After around the 15th mission, I had issues where I could select everything except my bees… Reboot problem sovled.

  3. At mission 25, game decided to tell me what to due in German. I failed. Rebooted game told me to destroy glow things in English. Still failed. Rebooted, and killed a enemy base and was able to advance.

Epidemyc

Epidemyc

This is a strategy tower defense game, you must protect seven rows against monsters by putting soldiers in each row. The player must choose between buying defensive structures, attack soldiers, or mining. As the game progresses, special and aid units are unlocked, also the enemies are upgraded in their variety. It is a very entertaining game where you do not pay to win, it does not require internet, it is not too long (infinite), it is complete and contains unlockable elements.

History: A war between the north and south zones forced all retired soldiers to return to service, Colonel Steve among them. Steve has a special mission within his own territory, and this is to recover the containers from laboratory 3. This would be a simple mission if it weren’t for the fact that he must confront the biological weapons that the enemy used in the city and the scarce resources assigned to him. Will he be able to overcome all obstacles? It depends on you.

I redoing my review on this game but not for good stuff i still dislike a major of stuff. so lets jump into what i personely think about this game.

First off i am like level 84 in the game. ive done everything even the 2021 summer event or whatever… that side now ill get into the stuff.

So in older versions of the game trinkets that use to give range where changed they just to give % now its a flat. so like instead of like 20% range bonus now its 10 range bonus so flat is way more well just not worth using.

Kingdom Rush Vengeance - Tower Defense

Kingdom Rush Vengeance - Tower Defense

Perhaps Kingdom Rush Vengeance is good when considered in a vacuum, but since I don’t live in a vacuum I can’t recommend it. The Kingdom Rush tower defense games are generally excellent, but in my opinion this is the worst of the bunch. Since the other games are nearly identical, I recommend playing an earlier Kingdom Rush game instead.

The main difference with Kingdom Rush Vengeance is that stars you earn don’t mean anything. In earlier Kingdom Rush games, the better you do, the more stars you earn, and beating the optional challenge modes gives even more stars, and stars are what you used to unlock upgrades. In Kingdom Rush Vengeance, you get the same number of upgrade points no matter how well you do, and beating the optional challenge modes does not give any additional upgrade points. That takes away most of the reason to try to get a top score or to beat the extra challenge modes.

Kingdom Rush Vengeance Review

TLDR: If you’ve played and enjoyed previous Kingdom Rush (KR) games in the past, then this is an easy recommend. As long as you’re ok with a few tweaks. If you’re new to the series, then Kingdom Rush Vengeance (KRV) is a solid, enjoyable tower defence game.

In this title, unlike the others, you play as the “bad-guys” lead by Vez’nan who was defeated at the end of the last game. The main game takes place across 16 maps in 3 different lands. An additional 9 maps are unlocked after completing the 16th level, 3 maps taking place in each land.

King’s Guard TD

King’s Guard TD

I’m a big, big fan of tower defense games and well, it’s not always easy to make new games in this genres for many reasons; the most common ones are that virtually all the tower defense games available from Flash websites and all over the stores are made by indie developer studios or single developers, and many of them (like the Kingdom Rush series, Incursion, Gemcraft, Curse Treasure, Protector.. it’s full of awesome series :P) deal with similar mechanisms and settings.

Of course, this is a little bit “forced”; what I’m trying to say is that these games have to follow a precise scheme made up by one or more paths that the enemies will walk on (there can be multiple paths, or different layers so that enemies can climb ladders, or even circular paths like in Protector where before hitting your health points the enemies will “circle” for some rounds over the same path), there are somehow fixed spots for towers (some games give you more freedom of choice, but generally speaking you’d want to put the most effective towers obviously in the places that are more effective against the most enemies) and of course speaking of the towers (or, like in Incursion and Kingdom Rush, towers that spawn 3 different warriors, mages, archers etc.) we’re almost every time revolving around similar concepts: archers, magical towers, warrior/tank towers, cannon towers all of them upgradable.

Verdict: 7/10

Solid tower defense game, with three difficulty levels, tower upgrades, special skills and all the bits and pieces to be expected from the genre. Most annoying is the awkwardness at placing the towers, limited screen resolutions and descriptions blocking playing area.

At just 1€, I can live with those quirks. Honestly, we should feel bad for paying so little for this title.

EDIT: price has increased to 2,39€, but the recommendation still holds, particularly on sale.

Candy Disaster - Tower Defense

Candy Disaster - Tower Defense

As a tower defense game, it’s not very solid. You can run identical loadouts and get a different result every time due to the 3D layout and random monster movements.

The game balancing needs a lot of work. I’ve played a bunch of TD games but, for the life of me, I can’t get past a level (2-08) on the easiest setting.

The audio balance is pretty terrible. Even if you mute the game, you can still destroy headphones or speakers by pressing “start”.

I have played almost 2/3 of the tower defense games on the mobile game market. This game is the most playable I have ever seen.

All creeps have different routes in each round and are completely unpredictable. The developer lowered the performance of all traps. Looking forward to the full version! !

It’s amazing. It’s beautiful. It’s hilarious. This game was made for Steam Remote Play, but I can’t wait to play it on a TV with a friend! #TeamKoko

Duo Defenders mixes fun co-op gameplay with one of my favorite game genres, tower defense. The tower defense gameplay is delightfully simple, and it feels more focused on team work - you can quickly get overwhelmed if you don’t work together and communicate, but that’s also the fun of it! Levels are pretty well-designed such that each level is a new teamwork challenge. The later levels are daunting for non-gamers, almost wish there was another faster/better character to select if one of the players is struggling, which would make it more casual.

Elementowers

Elementowers

TL;DR: Well designed/fun gameplay especially for co-op, graphics/audio are whatever but good enough. Perfect balance of deep/accessible. Not much content for current price but fun co-op is easy to burn through on steam ;).

SPOILER: ### of levels currently implemented.

Fun overall; will be a great hidden gem when there is a little more content.

The difficulty curve is a bit off–we played co-op on hard, there is lots of fun basic strategy to discover (some of it will be standard to fans of Tower Defense, some of it is unique to the unique mechanics they’re going for), but the early levels don’t allow you to explore this enough without losing, and the later levels then fall off a little. My GF and I died 3-8 times in the first four levels, then beat next the next four on first try.
