Alien Shooter TD

Alien Shooter TD

Rating: good (7/10)

Introduction

Alien Shooter TD is a Tower Defence game based on the alien shooter action game. By building “towers” on pre-defined spots you defend the base by not letting aliens enter certain points.

Gameplay & Story: 6/10

The gameplay is somewhat restricted by giving you only certain points where you can build on, but you still have choices of different “towers”. These are a bit unusual for a tower defence game - you are basically setting up teams of marines, which as towers in other TD games shoot monster on approaching, but also need ammo and use different weapons. As an example - you have tactical squads that can either slow enemies down by freezing them or burn them over time with a flame thrower. When progressing further into the game, these marines do get multiple new weapons which gives you more possibilities for tactics - build tons of cheap marines or some few more expensive but better ones. The story is almost non-present here, just the usual stuff - defending the world against an alien invasion.

I felt compelled to “100%” the game as much as possible (except for that last achievement), but I was really unsatisfied when playing the game. Towards the end of the game I would basically have it on in the background whilst doing something else.

Whilst it’s not an awful TD game, there are much more satisfying ones out there that you should play first, hence the thumbs-down.

Pros:

  • You shoot lots of aliens, like in Alien Shooter 1 and 2.

  • I quite like the constant-upkeep-reloading mechanic.

Hell Loop

Hell Loop

Enjoyable.

Pros:

  • It’s fun to find effective strategies.

  • The “no escape” mode is very challenging and fun.

Cons:

  • Your trap choices can make some playthroughs on higher difficulty impossible.

  • Difficulty levels are hidden in main menu.

The game is pretty great as a tower defense + strategy game. The drawings are perfect and looks pretty great for your eyes, you can’t wait that much from a platformer. However sinners can scream and that would make you feel like you’re a real Evil LMAO. However, traps are pretty enough to kill all the sinners. I had one problem with achievements. I tried many things to solve it but I didn’t had achievements while I was completing them. Contacted developer about that and he said yeah there can be a bug about achievements which will be solved %100.

Deathtrap

Deathtrap

+ Pros +

  • A very entertaining gameplay

  • A large amount of traps and skills that allow a diversified gameplay

  • A functional multiplayer mode

  • Stunning and detailed graphics.

- Cons -

  • Serious balance and design problems with certain levels.

  • A high price for a game that reuses existing models and doesn’t introduce anything revolutionary.

Gameplay

Deathtrap is a spinoff to The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing series. It’s based on the tower defence mechanics, estrapolated directly from its parent. It’s similar to Sanctum, mixing turrets and playable characters with their passive and combat skills defending a point from incoming waves of enemies.

Deathtrap is an interesting combination of tower defence and action RPG in a fantasy setting. The player has to stop an assortment of demonic creatures from reaching portals. You do this by building traps along the creatures path, and you also control a character that can move around the map and attack the creatures directly. Its similar to Orcs Must Die, but with a more elevated camera angle.

The player character can be either a warrior, rogue or mage depending on if you want to focus on melee or ranged attacks. You move with arrows/wasd, have a basic attack on LMB and upto 5 other abilities on hotkeys. These abilities cost rage/mana which is generated by using the basic attack, and there are more than 5 abilities to choose from, plus several passives, so you can build a character that suits your playing style.

A good start to something can become great. Alot of room for improvement when it comes to visuals, Interface, and gameplay aspects. Game is in a good state right now, but with more work it’ll fetch a playerbase. Highly recommed to at least try.

Edit: I just tried playing with a friend and the multiplayer didnt work correctly. The issues were that the person who joined the host wouldnt be able to ready up or use their turret/upgrade menu. Another glitch was that the other person would be seen idle at spawn but their character was making movement animations. Multiplayer is unplayable at the moment.

I really enjoyed this game. It is fun and becomes fast paced as you play. I would recommend playing.

Sucks. Crashed, and refused to close. Also, this game is vastly worse than it presents itself. You gotta click the viruses that spin and fly at you like missiles. And the anti bodies don’t do nearly enough, even upgrades. Over all, horrible game.

Zombie Quarantine

I like it!

It needs a bit of trimming. Well, more than “a bit”. But I have faith in the developer to get there.

Ehhh, if you want a polished game with no bugs or weird game mechanics, then say NO this, at least right now on launch day, June 23, 2017.

If you enjoy a good puzzle game, and realize that half the battle of this game will be working with very rough game design, then this game might be worth the price tag.

It’s rough people, and the developer states himself that this is his first game. It shows, but I believe if he keeps updating this game and listening to feedback from customers, it can be a really cool little game. I love the idea and concept of it.

Blood Waves

Blood Waves

Blood Waves (BW in short) develope and published by Light Road Games. On steam, the PC version was released on 12/05/2018 however according to Metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/blood-waves ) it shows the PC version was released on 27/11/2017. A mismatch of information. As of this writing, there are no feedback on Metacritic for BW.

I am writing this as of update 0.410 with just 2.6 hours into the game and have not completed/experience what the product has to offer, substantially this is definately too early to write BUT because the developer is still updating the product at this stage, I intend to push this writing out ASAP for the devs to consider some idea(s) to work on.

Didn’t go into this one with much to ask , just something to enjoy and play.

And that’s sort of what i got with Blood Waves , it’s a straightforward 3rd person survival shooter which feels like playing Resident Evil of sorts.

You have a skilltree where you get 1point per wave you finish , and money after each wave , to purchase weapons and upgrades.

Now let me start with saying that the Skilltree is busted , you can stack damage reduction , you get up to 6% of your max hp PER SECOND regenerated and then you have the classics like stamina increase , headshot dmg multiplier you know the good stuff.

Zombie Killing Simulator

Zombie Killing Simulator

Overpriced!!!!!

1. clunky game play and mechs.

2. Can’t run graphics on high without extreme heat. (GTX 1060)

3. Might be fun one day, but as stated before needs to focus on 1 or 2 types of play.

4. Multi player won’t be fun with these small maps.

5. Buttons and extras like health need simpler use for players and explain what some even do. I.E. Big health restores

both armour and health. I will revisit this game in the future, but for now not worth the money asked.

Also most of the people giving it a thumbs up played less than 2 hrs!

The game is fun and relaxing! For my part, I love this game and its concept, it perfectly scratches my itch! I got some problems with starting the mars map, but other than that, I recomend it (everyone might not find the current price fitting, but with the work this lone developer has put in, you have to agree). Btw, developer, how bout adding a game mode where you have this tight corridor or whatever and zombies come from one direction, so you mow them down or something. I would quite enjoy that :)
