Herder

Herder

I had access to Beta release, it’s a fun unique take on farming, score attack, and tower-defence style games. Easy to pick up and play or sink a few hours into. Great fun!

It’s not a massive sprawling game, but you’ll easily get some hours of playtime in, well worth the $5.

First Off Pro tip I didn’t find out until 5 hours into the game if you hit the R key the dog will run the sheep into the starting area and consolidate them The Concept of this game is actually really well executed, but first let me talk about the main thing that ruins the game a good amount for me. My little herder dude likes to target rocks walls trees EVERYTHING so I could be facing forward hit the w and go backwards cause he’s targeting some random object it makes your character herk and jerk around and it’s tragic. The sheep are dumb they literally run TOWARDS the danger instead of away. Whoever made this game has a really good understanding of animals the disease from having too many and the problems that can come from not thinning the herd can cause a huge problem and this mechanic is really well done and makes getting some of the achievements very difficult even on casual mode. The shooting works really well when my dudes not focused on a rock or a wall. The upgrades are super cool I was actually very amused when my sheep went face first into one of the land mines I planted. Definitely recommend this game for the price.

Chicken Defender

Chicken Defender

Fun and short game. The game consists only of a couple levels which vary in difficulty. For the price just perfect, pretty polished tbh.

I would say there was a lack of weapons, a couple more would be fun. Also, the goal for the last level was 100, I got 26,000, that can probably be tweaked. But overall fun time, thanks developers.

A $A1.50 well spent. Good graphics and sound.

Thought this Tower Defense title could be a walk in the park - after getting my bottom spanked my first 4 tries, I am happy to amend that thought. I particularly like the fact that the game advises you, and shuts the level down when you are not going to be able to meet the level requirements. I can see that I am really going to have to think the levels right through.

A terrific value for money title.

Garden Of Mooj

Garden Of Mooj

Garden of Mooj is a monster farmer simulator where you raise cute little slime monsters called Mooj. You find different types of food and feed them to your Mooj and it will train their stats in different ways. Every night even scarier monsters come to try and destroy your Mooj statue and you must defend yourself using the Mooj you have raised. Once you train your Mooj, their abilities can unlock gates to allow you passage into new areas, as you make your way across the world trying to save it from a mysterious enemy. Mooj is fairly similar to games like Slime Rancher and the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure, and was a lot of fun. The game also has a really decent jazz/easy listening soundtrack.

I find this game strangely addicting and loads of fun despite how simple it is.

Its a good game for just not worrying and getting a good chuckle and you can make your mooj fairly different.

Pros:

Relaxing

Silly and cute

Addicting

Cons:

it can be a bit buggy

its not entirely clear on what to do

could still use more to do(personal bias)

Farm for your Life

Farm for your Life

tl;dr

Cute farming/zombie survival game combined with running a restaurant.

Achievements are doable, but require some patience.

Story

As you might have alreadey expected an unkown virus has turned people to zombies. In order to survive you have to plant vegetables, cook and serve your customers in your restaurant. At a later time you will be able to get some NPC helpers and even try to search for a cure.

Gameplay

The controls feel right. It is not too complicated and you don’t need to rush too much. If you want to unlock all the achievements, you will need to do some mini games with perfect score. For some people it might feel annoying, but I am not very skillful and I still have done it. Therefore I think it is not that hard.

A fun little casual game.

The zombies aren’t too scary, the animals and toons are cute, the gameplay is easy to learn.

The storyline provides what is being advertised. 5-6 hours of story-related gameplay. After that, one can always continue in “freeplay” mode.

Replay value seems limited, as is the content. No procedurally generated world, which makes replays seem all alike.

A few bugs here an there, nothing major though:

[olist]

  • Customers sitting on each others' laps, dishes occasionally getting stuck and being hard to remove. Not a big deal, most of these are self-clearing when the restaurant runs out of customers during nights. Saving and re-loading the game cleared all these issues too.
