Defense high

Defense high

–Update 2–

2021-06-06

I finally took the time to finish the game. Achievements 3-8 don’t trigger even if you flawlessly finish a level. What’s up dev?

DO NOT BUY THIS unless you want a partially finished game.

–Update 1 –

5 Levels completed, achievements 3-5 not triggering, yet somehow there are players that have them? Verifying the integrity of game files doesn’t seem to help. It seems like the game is abandoned by the developer…

Major issues:

  • It seems like some towers with “abilities” do nothing? After testing them all it is unclear that the freeze and explosion ones do anything obvious. Maybe they buff towers around them?

Easily the worst tower defence I have ever played

So I played the first 3 levels and every single one of them I won by just using tower number 4 the sniper tower. And I couldn’t be bothered to waste my time playing the other 5 levels but I am 100% sure you can beat the game just by spamming that one tower. And it’s not even close, I would have 10,000 gold and probably a hundred towers and just watch the enemies die. There is a wasp thing that blows up towers which might be frustrating in a more balanced game but I could literally just build infinite towers.

1812: Napoleon Wars

An exciting and interesting tower defense strategy game. Probably my favorite kind of game in childhood. Beautiful interface, without too much trash.

I bought it only yesterday, but already tightened it to the fullest) It carries a certain nostalgia of those years. I advise you to buy this game and just feel the game, because it is made with the soul

It’s just possible to teach a story :)))

_An uncomplicated strategy for an evening or two, if you do not stay too long

Quite interesting gameplay, I liked that there is a link to the history, amused by the view of Red Square

I advise fans of this genre, the performance of the game is good_

Defense Grid: The Awakening

Allow me my conceit.

DG is the best video game I have ever played, and many of you reading this could my grandkids friends.

I usually avoid pronouncements. I avoid posting comments even more, but DG is so special, so rare, I must share with you why you should buy it.

Check how many hours I have invested in this love affair. I still play every week. I invite you to check older posts from pre-2010 to see how this game enveloped not just me but a whole community being introduced to tower defense for the first time, not to mention veterans of the genre.

Tower security entertainments are a dime twelve on the Internet, which is a touch of an adornment generally as in most by a long shot of them are permitted to-play, so paying 10 pennies would be unnecessary overabundance. Still, it’s not stunning that tower shield entertainments are so celebrated; done successfully they can be an addictive time suck, draining without end the hours as you try to set up a defensive system that can withstand everything the PC hurls at it. With these free preoccupations out there, can’t avoid being there space for a premium tower security diversion? Covered Path Entertainment advances a persuading resistance with Defense Grid: The Awakening, a $20 redirection that offers a great deal of tense minutes and significantly more significance than an ordinary tower monitor diversion.

Core Defense

Very well-designed Tower Defense game that also incorporates active elements (abilities which you can “cast” after a cooldown) and a random reward mechanism (“choose 1 out of 3”) after each wave of enemies.

This means that all upgrades and additional abilities/towers are basically randomized but you get to choose one out of a random selection (which still allows for a lot of choice), and the randomness is also tailored to what you already have,

so there won’t ever be a completely useless upgrade up for selection.

So adding a review after testing a bit of the new DLC.

The game is difficult, punishes small mistakes immediately and is addictive to a point. The amount of hours I have despite the lack of content beyond “now do it again but slightly harder” speaks to how quick it is to fire up a new game and carry on.

Prior to the DLC an update added a feature I’d been looking for to speed up to 5x so I could quickly go through waves where I don’t have to take an active part, but along with this patch the game has started to run very slowly. Not something I’d expect from something that looks like a decade old flash game.

Sol Survivor

Sol Survivor

I am SUPER pleased that I gave this game another chance, because it is now firmly in my Top 3 All Time tower defense games (and I’ve played over 100, far more if you count war3 maps).

I got this game shortly after it first came out way back in 2011 and a bunch of us played it coop. It was fun but it seemed really generic and sloppily designed. A few dozen hours later I uninstalled it and rarely ever brought it back out because I ignorantly thought the single player was the same as the multiplayer.

I was introduced to Sol Survivor by someone who’d read my review on Heretic and asked if I’d ever played it using the Doomsday engine. He had an extra copy that he gifted me after we spent a couple hours kicking each other’s asses in some Dukematches.

This is my first “real” Tower-Defense game, and it’s a great way to be introduced to the genre. Before Sol Survivor, my only glimpse into this genre were the UMS “Turret Defense” and “Pylon Defense” user-created maps for Battle.net StarCraft matches (classic, mind you, not II).

Defence War

Defence War

This is one of the best tower defence games I have ever played! It’s a ton of fun and each map offers different challenges. It’s beautifully made and the visuals are really striking! I really love the look of this game! There’s a story mode which eases you into the game and then an online arcade mode which gives it a competitive component which I love! I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves a good strategy based game.

Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal

Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal

Creeper World is technically a tower defence game, but unlike any other you’ve played before.

In a normal tower defence game (and even abnormal awesome ones like Defender’s Quest ) you’ll have enemies coming towards a point or object you’re defending and you’re tasked with fending them off by placing towers either along a pre-defined path or by creating that path using walls or the towers themselves (this is known as ‘mazing’).

HERO DEFENSE

HERO DEFENSE

Personal rating: 7/10

What to expect of Hero Defense - Haunted Island:

Hero Defense - Haunted Island is a tower defense with a different twist on it: you don’t use actual towers, you control them in the form of heroes, while far from being the first in the genre, it is the first time I’ve played a game where you can have control up to five different characters at the same time and are free to move them as you like.

SINGLE-PLAYER EXPERIENCE REVIEW

Grind, Grind, Grind…

Let me start by saying that this is not a bad game. Just a ridiculously overpriced game. I mean $30 for a game that still has actual Placeholder text in some places….really devs? Really? Not to mention that the PVP and multiplayer is pretty much dead so put those out of your mind.

The game is a tower defense game, with the twist being your towers are heroes you can, and will have to, move around the map. Each her is effective against certain enemies and has certain effects and atrtibutes. These heropes can also be levelled up with thhe spoils of victory to make them more powerful. Better weapons, better power-ups, better skills/attributes. Of course the savy Tower defense player will realize where this falls apart.

Plants vs. Zombies GOTY Edition

Plants vs. Zombies GOTY Edition

Plant vs. Zombies is a cute, addictive and fun game for all ages. I played it a lot of my old school laptop, and it ran completely fine even on that. The game has a lengthy story with various challenges to overcome. There’s many plants, zombies and maps to play around with and the game is very addictive to play. The story is very simple, but fun. Crazy Dave is a quite hillarious character.

This is a tower defense game. Your task is to defend the garden against waves of enemies and upgrade the garden. It starts of easy, but new zombies and plants are added throughout the story and things can get challenging. You will earn coins and other rewards which you use to buy new items from the store and upgrade your Zen Garden.
