The Last Archwing
The last Archwing reminded me of the traditional plane/helicopter shooting games I used to play in the pizza parlor as a kid. The more up to date graphics and controls were nice and enjoyed the variety of funny characters. My 5 year old son was able to beat the game on casual and enjoyed the humor as well.

The Last Archwing nails game balance. It’s frustrating enough to keep you interested, but not in a way that’s discouraging. The variety of enemies is just right. The pacing is on par with the best of 2D side scrolling and vertical scrolling games. It’s nostalgic in a way that brings back the classic game feel, but because of the story, music, graphics (specifically lighting) and voice acting, the game is firmly placed into the modern era of games. A shout out to the barrel roll game mechanic for being easy to use but hard to master. Smashing multiple enemies with one roll is immensely satisfying. Deciding between using barrel roll and Death Wave adds a layer of depth that is compelling. The music choice for the different levels and opening sequence is superb. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying this game.

Solaroids
If you like astroids type games, you will love Solaroids! It is a really smooth play, and there are many settings that you can tweak and change to adjust the game play/view the way you want. I also think the soundtrack is high quality and enjoy listening to it while I play. The local multiplayer mode is fun for families, -my kids enjoy the game too! Solaroids is still in early release, but the solo developer keeps us posted about the updates he is making and the plans he has to improve the game, including a story, and more grapics etc. He is also very open to suggestions, which I appreciate. I would definately recommend the game if you like to shoot things in space. It is surprisingly fun, and polished in the game play. Give it a try!

I have been playing this off and on for about 3 years. Seeing the massive updates, option upgrades, graphic changes, etc. has been really amazing.
This seems like a finished product, not a beta or early access… and then it updates and (unlike many other updates) you realize that they found a way to improve on something that was already great and retain the things you liked! You have even more things to explore or try out!
When the twin stick came out I was FINALLY a bit more competent and it transformed from a PC simulated arcade game to a modern console version.

It has potential.
I’d like to see Keyboard control. Left and Right arrows to rotate clockwise/counter, Up arrow to move forward.

This game has a lot of potential with its charming 16-bit style and almost endless customization with ship type, weapons and much more that actually have impact on the gameplay and your success.
My only wishes as for now is keyboard support and a soundtrack

Power of Ten
What if you took Asteroids, expanded on the gameplay, and gave it a graphics update? that’s Power of Ten. Well-done pixel graphics, good sound effects, and simple but fun gameplay.
The game has little scenarios*, random maps, and weapons pickups, so reminds me a tiny bit of FTL: Faster Than Light, which is nice (I may be a little biased but I love anything like FTL). Power of Ten is made by one guy, and he’s very active on development and feedback in the PoT community which is something I really love seeing. always a good sign.

Its a fine game. But play space is empty. Just a few planets, astroids, and thats it. Would love you see maybe a passing ship in the background or something to make it move lively. I know its space but come on.
Significant slowdowns and lag may turn people off.
NEEDS multiple updates!
Other than that it makes you feel like a true starfighter. Ships handle great and combat is cool. If its on sale buy it, because itll be a solid game in a while.

Space Defense
I didn’t think making a simple 2D space blaster could ever turn into this big of a catastrophe…

No in game audio settings at all. Ugh.
-
The Timer at the top has a decimal and shows fractions of seconds down to the 10,000th of a second. WTF. Can this developer really not simply google “how to round a variable to a whole number in Unity”??
-
Your space ship has no collision at all with enemy ships! What the hell dev?
-
No impact is shown when you get hit by an enemy bullet, ‘nor is there any audio for this.

Debris Field
Got a job for you
A simple smash and grab, nothing too complicated. You see, during the evacuation of the now corrupted sectors, a whole lot of valuable material got left behind. Most of that material is still there, just waiting for someone crazy enough to fight their way through the endless swarm of crazed zealots that guard the place.
But I trust that won’t be a problem for a madman like you.
About
Debris Field is a top down physics based space shooter with rogue-like elements, that focuses on using Newtonian movement to out maneuver swarms of enemies.
You will have to fight your way through a series of unforgiving arenas, learning to use Newtonian movement to give yourself an edge over your enemies. Upgrade your ship and your weapons along the way whatever you can find, but don’t take too long, as the enemy will soon overwhelm you.
The full game contains:
Physics based movement
5 unique levels with different terrain and enemies
Several starting ships, with different stats and loadouts
A dynamic system of incremental stacking upgrades
A persistent difficulty over time system to keep you on your toes
The Demo contains only the first level, but is otherwise unlimited.

EVIL STAR
The game is not really bad in itself. The graphics and the songs are good, there is the choice in mutliple spaceships with different special power. But that’s all. The game is really simple, you just have to click on the left and right mouse buttons to turn in the associated direction, and there is nothing more. It’s all the the time the same thing with the same damn music that is good at first, but that become really really annoying after a moment. Also there is some bugs, if you buy a starship the price for the other rise, but if you close the game, when you restart it,the prices are back to the original for some but not for all the spaceships. I can’t recommended this game, exept if you want to play the same game during hours with a simplistic gameplay.

You move your spaceship with your two mouse buttons. No other controls. You dodge space rocks and collect energy tokens that you then spend to unlock or upgrade ships. Each ship has its own special ability. It’s just a time killer. It gets boring fast. Waste enough time and you will get all achievements, no skill required.
For what it is it’s really overpriced. The game has cards and backgrounds, but most of the backgrounds are just screenshots from the game and it won’t “wow” you with its graphics. You can get much better games for far less, with better graphics, better gameplay and better cards and backgrounds. Epido is one I would recommend.

Neonis
Neonis is a highly action packed top-down shooter in which you try to survives hordes of enemies. The game consists out of several gamemodes, such as: Classic, Chaos, Dodge and Flood. Each gamemode is explained below. Pick up buffs and use them to their full potential in order to survive.
You’ll be armed with two personal abilities: The Rocket Launcher and the Dash ability. Killing enemies with each of the respectable abilites will grant bonus point. Dash is also really handy to get out of sticky situations.
Neonis has a high replayability as you try to keep beating your own personal highscore.
Neonis now also has a new Tower Defense mode!
Classic is a gamemode in which you start off facing the basic enemies and the more you progress and the more score you get, the harder it gets. Different kind of enemies start spawning the more you progress, enemies start spawning faster, but also buffs start spawning faster. You basically start off really slow, and end in complete chaos, if you manage to reach the final “level”.
Chaos is a gamemode where you fight enemies in complete chaos. From the start you’ll see every sort of enemy spawning, at a very high rate. Buffs will spawn incredibly fast as you are going to need them. Chaos is basically the last level from the Classic gamemode.
Dodge is a gamemode in which you are unable to shoot. You are also unable to use any abilities. You won’t get any help from buffs either. The main purpose of the gamemode is to dodge. Enemies will spawn around you and the game will progessively get harder. Enemies explode after a certain amount of time. Enemies exploding will grant you points.
Flood is a gamemode in which you will only face the basic circular enemies. Here you start off slowly as well, but the playfield will flood really quickly. Make sure you defeat your enemies fast enough or else you’ll lose rather fast. Flood is really satisfying if you really enjoy killing large numbers of monsters in a short amount of time.

Sapper
Sapper puts new, colourful spin on the classic video game genre. In Sapper, you play a small anti-pirate. mine-sapper unit. Cleanse local home vessels and exotic alien craft of enemies, mines, and watch these vast ships ride to safety as you collect your bounty.
A lightning fast, immediate game, with slick scrolling 2D graphics: quick to pick-up, but harder to put down and far harder to master.
