Loving the old school arcade vibes of this one, but with hidden depths you’ll discover as you play. I was genuinely pleased to get a score that wasn’t a negative! Recommend if you’re old enough to have played the originals, or young enough to have only seen arcade games on your mobile phone.

Sooo 0 players online and no devs or testers playing on release day or any announcements… I’m out. Feedback before I go

Yeah so assuming this isn’t vaporware or an elaborate ruse to get someone’s computer to mine cryptocurrency, here are my thoughts:

1. You need weapon upgrades that are actually, well, upgrades. Each ship you can purchase from the carrier is nearly perfectly optimized from what I can tell unless you go to the expensive shop in the middle. Give the carrier some weapon upgrades that are actually better than what is on the starting ships you buy.

This is a very tentative thumbs up because the game is decent fun, but it’s marred by technical issues (walls with no collision detection, sound bugs, black frames) and a couple gameplay flaws (the camera). Here’s hoping future patches address some of these concerns.

If you’re using doors instead of blasting through walls, you’re doing it wrong. It’s a nice take on a twin stick shooter where you can’t kill or defeat things by shooting at them, but instead shooting them into things.

I love all the glitchy visual effects. Game is very light on story and humour is definitely very weird, but I’m liking it so far.

Trigger Time: A Test Case for Valve

It’s a real shame that Trigger Time has gone completely under the radar. It’s a story-driven top-down shoot ‘em up that should hold mass appeal to action gamers. However, almost a full week after its release it has yet to be reviewed on Steam. It Is my hope that providing this review I can help start remedying this and that more eyes get on the game.

Instead of a traditional view, I want to provide my insight into why I believe the game hasn’t received the attention that it deserves. I’ll start by outlining what it isn’t and then diagnose what it is holding it back in my opinion.

Full disclosure: I was provided a review key by the publisher.

This was an interesting title both to play and review, and the game left me surprised if feeling somewhat mixed. Obviously it has a low price point and can raise concerns about shovelware - I can definitely say that yes, this feels like a game a human being put effort into and thought through rather than shoving out as a cash grab. It feels like Alien Swarm without a budget.

I’d like to note that I played on easy, not because of challenge but because of a curious achievement which required you to beat the game on easy before doing so on a higher difficulty. What I noticed eventually was that a number of enemies were bullet sponges for the equipment you’d have at the time. Obviously this is fine for boss battles or certain climax fights, but at times it leaves you feeling somewhat weaker than you should. A small balance patch improving the “gunfeel” would elevate the combat (and therefore much of the game) - as is it’s typical of the genre. However sometimes the combat felt excellent (usually during bosses/climax fights).

Archero

Archero

Dear archer hero, it’s time to answer the call of the world and complete the necessary challenges to become a god!

Using your skillful archery skills, different arrows and the blessings of the bow gods, you can easily destroy all kinds of enemies and complete a variety of challenges.

Don’t forget to defeat your challengers, they don’t want you to become a god!

Shoot!

Draw an arrow from your pack, then build up your strength and shoot at the enemy! The greater the force, the faster the arrow and the more damage it will do to the enemy.

A shot that hits an enemy may break their joints and slow them down. There is a chance of a blast effect or even a kill shot!

Enemy armour

Enemies do not always reveal their flesh and blood, but usually wear armour of varying strengths in different torso positions, including light, medium and heavy armour.

Usually some enemies will be able to tell at a glance which type of armour is dominant, while others will need to be tried with an arrow.

Each part of the armour has its own durability value and will protect its owner with a response damage reduction parameter until it is depleted, but some arrows can penetrate directly regardless of the armour.

Types of arrows

When facing enemies without armour, or wearing light, medium or heavy armour, the different types of arrows are more effective and are

Normal arrows - average muzzle velocity, penetrate light armour and dent medium armour, but break when encountering heavy armour

Barbed arrow - higher muzzle velocity, penetrates and deals a lot of damage to unarmored and light armour, breaks on medium and heavy armour

Flat arrow - low muzzle velocity, dents almost all armour and loses a lot of durability

Sharp Arrows - Very high muzzle velocity, can penetrate all armour types including heavy armour, but do less damage

Normal arrows are infinite and you will automatically harvest other arrows from the Bow God on a regular basis, so remember to be flexible!

Growth

You gain experience by hitting enemies. Each time you accumulate a certain amount of experience you can upgrade and choose one of three random growth paths. Feel free to choose your own direction of development!

God Wishes

Wishes will accumulate automatically over time, and each successful shot will accumulate more wishes. When they are full, they unleash powerful aspirations.

These skills last for a while and come in different types: from rapid fire and knockback to charm and disguise, each of which has its own use to help you defeat the enemy.

Divine Rites

Each time you achieve a part of your goal, you will receive a gift from the gods. You can choose from a variety of different rewards, from special passive skills, divine wishes or special arrows.

Bow

Find bows with different attributes from all over the map, or from dead enemies, and use them with a passive skill or a divine wish to achieve outstanding results.

Quests or the Bow God

Complete a series of quests for the Bow God and collect crystal shards to cement your path to godhood. As your strength increases, you can receive various levels and quests such as defence, assault, sneaking and collecting.

Special helpers

Skeletons in tombstones, locked gates, stone throwers for defence, carefully erected stone balls, rickety suspension bridges - the mechanics in each mission will be a great help to you!

Flowing Lights

Flowing Lights

Introduction

Flowing Lights is a puzzle shmup or shooter with a ton of zones you’re encouraged to speed run one at a time. I was given a free copy for betatesting and have played through the whole game. For each zone you have to figure out the best way to clear it, then use your shmup skills to get past the bullets and take out the enemies.

Gameplay

There are 10 levels with each 17 to 26 short zones. The first two levels act as tutorial. Your weapons are regular fire and a slingshot with a slow laser guide. You can also use boosts with a time interval. You start each level with 1 live and you can earn more for clearing a zone without getting hit. In some zones you can earn weapon upgrades for getting combos. You earn a C rank for just finishing a zone but if you’re fast enough you can get Bs, As and Ss.

Castle Break

Its a great hardcore oldschool arcaniod-style game with no mercy to slowpoke players.

Did not expected i’ve spend all the evening, kicking virtual bombs around the screen :D

Controlling your own robot, you have to break through the enemy walls, protecting your troops from being destroyed by the enemy. Each new level brings new powerfull enemies on the battlefield, opens new tools and weapons to upgrade your robot.

Pros:

  • funny pixel-style graphics

  • hardcore gameplay

  • levels variety

  • different gamestyles by using different tools

Very nice game, I caught nostalgia when I was a child playing this game on the football field, instead of bombs we had a ball, and instead of a castle and minions, a grid/wall

Convenient one-mouse operation that allows you to take a breath while working.

I liked the idea, with construction, in this game you can even shoot))

A simple game that I figured out in the first minutes of the game.

Retro-style graphics are very suitable for it, it feels like you moved to the 90’s, and you play this game on a slot machine, and there are a lot of spectators behind you
