BORDERCIDE

The detective drank until he passed out, almost like every day, and fell into the arms of the nightmare. This time it was the ringing of the phone that woke him from his nightmare. They called him for the one thing he enjoyed doing in this life. They called him for the one thing he was good at in this life. They called him to do his job. When he heard the news of the murder, he knew he would catch the murderer at any cost. No one could get into him and the murderer. When he heard the news of the murder, he was relieved. He could finally be able to escape from this emptiness. He could finally be able to escape from his nightmares. Most importantly, he could finally be able to escape from himself. Or could he?

Disjunction

I’m thoroughly enjoying my experience with Disjunction. You play as three separate characters whose storylines intertwine and run parallel to one another. Despite being advertised as a stealth-RPG, the game gives you a plethora of options to customize your gameplay. You can play non-lethally with melee, lethally with different guns, or use a combination of both. Your choice in lethality affects the dialogue, characters, and endings. The game can also be quite challenging depending on your playstyle.

Hmm… I don’t know if recommended is really what I should place this game under.

But it’s not bad and it’s cheap !

This game is quite weird because the story is very mature, It can also be quite bloody if you go full rampage…

The music is awesome and could be described as some kind of dark ambient, the pixel art graphics are fantastic though repetitive.

But the gameplay is childish… The game consist of small levels divided in two floors each time with a save point located on each floor which you can use at any point but you can use it only once… The game would be perfect for a kid to learn how to handle stealth games, it is a very good introduction to the stealth genre.

Good things:

The only good thing about this game is music.

Bad things:

The gameplay and story just wants to be Hotline Miami but fails in every aspect. Enemies are super accurate but at the same time brain dead. With the second character you can just run past them when you destroy doors and they will not notice you and will run to the place where they last heard you. The developer did know how bad this game is and that is why he gave you 3 lives and a few seconds of invisibility and invulnerability after you are killed. Also if you get to a boss you have unlimited number of lives to just defeat that boss so you will win anyway as the boss kills you with one hit but you need many hits to defeat him and 3 lives would not be enough to defeat any boss. The game is also super bad at showing you where is the front and where is the back of the enemy if they don’t carry guns. Also the enemies move chaotically so the ones with guns have their patrol routes that they stick to but all others sometimes go somewhere sometimes just spin in place sometimes they don’t react at you destroying doors while at other times they charge you so you can never really create a strategy and you really need these 3 lives and invisibility after being killed to finish the levels.

A breath of fresh air in the current gaming climate! Story and character based game kind of like Disco Elysium, albeit shorter. Big game world, a lot of interaction and different ways to solve the crimes. Some tips I would give to new players:

spec your character right away, you have like 8 points and you have to manually enter each one. A bit unintuitive but you can get the hang of it. Be sure to add your 2 new points after every murder solved. humor and charm go a long way when talking to NPCs.

Town of Machine

Town of Machine

“Wow, what asshole wrote your dialogue? …anyway,” Sums up agent Silverman’s, and the rest of this games dialogues quite well.

The game contains some blood, gore, and some graphical explanations so make sure you feel comfortable with those things before getting the game.

Combat feels great, challenging, with a bunch of different weapons and upgrades. The bouncing shot on the pistols being my favorite weapon so far.

Overall the game starts out easy and ramps up in difficulty, some spots can feel a bit challenging at first if you’re not prepared.

Town of Machine is a top-down shooter with a hub-based world and semi-open progression where you investigate the cultist activity in a ghost town in a middle of nowhere. You meet strange characters, collect various, upgradeable instruments of mass destruction and explore dilapidated streets and laboratories looking for a missing agent. You have some freedom of movement on your journey, some secrets to uncover, lots of items that you can combine together to create more powerful healing potions or ammo types as you fulfil nonsensical quests with world-class writing on top of it - I recommend a beer or two before you start reading the dialogs. ;) There are many weapons, all reasonably fun to use, tons of different monsters to destroy, a few followers that you can bring along on your journey and some interesting environments to visit.
