Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop
Reactive Drop
The sequel of Alien Swarm, an top-down cooperative shooter released by Valve back in the days.
History
Alien Swarm originates from an unreal tournament mod back in the days and was acquired and re-released by Valve in 2010. This game combined elements from survival games like shadowgrounds and left for dead. For a free game, it had a good presentation, nice gameplay and good graphics. It only lacked two things: content and community.
The gameplay
Like Alien Swarm, Reactive Drop is a cooperative top down shooter. The player plays with other marines against hordes of aliens, in order to complete different objectives. In the game, there are 4 different classes to play, each one consisting of two characters with different statistics including some class restricted weapons.

Friendly Fire is anything but friendly, medics are flavour and death, death do be part of the game. Try to keep up with your team and defend when necessary, picking a firing line and keeping it will increase everyone’s chances of survival. That said, in general, the game is Chaos.
People can and do play solo, but these are usually awe inspiring ASBI players. For the rest of us, team play is integral and trust is key. Communication in game is vital and facilitated in-game with voice communication, a text chat feature and a radial menu for quick communication emotes. Although after a few rounds, you’ll learn to read other players marine placements and apply your own work around tactics of support. The community is active and full of modders aiming to enhance your bug hunt with custom challenges, HUD’s, skins, sounds and levels. Additionally, there are dedicated servers from all around the globe, providing a place for you to meet new and interesting marines, in your fight against the swarm.

this game is the best thing to happen to me. it incorporates the difficulties we face in our daily lives, like the boss spamming fiery death 4 times in a row. it teaches us a valuable lesson in sacrifice and brotherhood. the game itself is poorly made, but that doesnot stop the mastermind behind it to convey a gruesome and unforgiving world he definetitely had in mind. in conclusion 10/10 basically dark souls.

Flashlight
Full disclosure, this game is developed by a friend. That being said, it’s a relief to be able to say that the Flashlight is good, so I don’t have to fake being nice.
I’m a purveyor of twin-stick style shooters - Synthetik, Nuclear Throne, Assault Android Cactus, Helldivers, The Ascent - all games I have a decent amount of hours in. Flashlight can stand shoulder to shoulder with all of them in terms of raw fun. The multiplayer modes, where the game really shines in my opinion, are a blast. They’re high-tension bouts of raw skill. Mobility is limited in this game, so good aim, tactical weapon use, and coordination are key to victory. You can also play the story mode cooperatively or single player to hone your skills, mowing down waves of zombies and bot mercenaries.

A swarm of meteors has for millennia been chased through the galaxy by alien creatures, who have grown addicted to the consumption of energy dense crystals growing on every rock of the swarm. The consumption of energy from the crystals once gave the aliens wisdom and strength but have now corrupted and mutated the species and turned them into zombie-like creatures who will destroy anything in their path to obtain even a grain of the crystals.
The meteors are hurtling through space, and Earth is the next planet in its path. It’s destiny and that of all living things is seemingly decided.
What better to combat an invading alien species with than over-the-top weaponry? From Space has got plenty of it. Every weapon has been designed to be super-satisfying to play with, from the sounds they make to the visuals they show on the screen. Rocket launchers, miniguns, flamethrowers and many more …
Mowing down aliens is fun, but there’s more to it. Throughout the world you can discover perks that will change the behavior of your character and weapons. Turn yourself in the ultimate tank that takes the brunt of any attack while your buddies are set up to do maximum damage. You’ll need to find ways to combat increasingly more powerful aliens, and perks is the way to do this. No worries, no choice is permanent and all perks can be swapped between teammates.
While you’re under constant threat, there’s more you and your team needs to do to be successful. Prototype weaponry that harnesses the power of the energy crystals has been developed by the military using the shells of autonomous thermonuclear drones. The weapons aren’t fully developed however, and need to be charged and guided to their destination by the squad in order to inflict the most damage.
Help us out. Wishlist us now! From Space is a spiritual successor of our 2015 Action / Arcade game “It came from space and ate our brains ”.

HELLDIVERS™ Dive Harder Edition
It’s as simple as the trailers. Virtually the better “Magicka” concept in execution. There was a lot of talk about… I really tried to make it short.
Now, if you’ve never played Magicka…
HELLDIVERS is a top down shooty bangbang game with emphasis on multiplayer cooperation, like Alien Swarm. But unlike Alien Swarm, it has much more depth and variation completely dependent on player preference, kinda like Magicka. What? My comparisons are awful? Fiiine.
In HELLDIVERS, you are a soldier fighting a grand war against three oppositions. In every mission, you and up to three others will be dropped in the middle of enemy territory. You are to complete as many objectives as you can or die trying. Upon completion and/or failure of every objectives, evacuation will be made available. After every three regular missions, you will have completed a planet, receive a greater reward, and also contributing to the overall war effort. zzz…

I don’t know if Arrowhead are geniuses or they got lucky with this one, I haven’t played their other games… but Helldivers is, in my opinion, a masterpiece.
It’s a game about situational awareness, quick thinking, and self control. It can be brutally unforgiving, but also allow you to pull a win out of the messiest of situations, which can be very satisfying. It’s fun when you’ve got a very tight squad flawlessly executing missions, and it’s fun when the shit hits the fan and everything starts going wrong. With full friendly fire, and tremendously powerful tools at their disposal, Helldivers can be their own worst enemies.

The Night Christmas Ended
This game was my way of getting into the Christmas spirit and let me tell you, it was awesome. The game kinda reminds me of Buster Bros but with a twisted story and sometimes, weird game mechanics and politically incorrect humor.
I’ve beaten it on Bronze and Silver modes, just beaten Level 2-2 on Gold mode.
As per the game dev’s request in the opening cut-scene to be shown a Let’s Play of this game, here ya go:

Blink: Rogues
I won’t hide that I am part of the development team. And as such, I am obviously biased. And also as such, I have already removed/fixed the great majority the things that I did not like about this game. The few that are still remaining, we have plans about those - for instance: adding a couple more maps, a couple more enemies, and a party mode (read that quick PvP local tournaments).
I love the new graphics, I love it when I hit with the rail, while moving, Blink to steal a MegaHealth from the opponent, masterfully flip in order to avoid a shotgun, get the frag, and then … I run into the first enemy and die.

It’s time to play a shooting gallery in space – we are entering the world of Blink:Rogues, developed and distributed by Fox Dive Studio
To start with, I will be honest and say I was genuinely curious how a simple genre like the “shoot’em up” could be innovated further. Space Invaders (1978) started its popularity and since that time, some great games have come from it like Mushihimesama in 2011. That said, I feel like many games in this genre feel like they are almost the same game, with some small differences and a new texture pack thrown over the top. Blink: Rogues, however, adds a new spice to the genre by mixing it up with some new mechanics, which we will go through in this review.

TLDR
It’s just alright. Nice coat of paint, responsive combat system, depth of a puddle with a carrot-on-a-stick that’s got a short stick.
It’s a decent romp for a group of people for 10-15hrs before it starts feeling really repetitive. Pick it up on a sale if you have friends.
The Ramble
The game looks colorful and everything from models to animations look and feel really good. The sound is functional but nothing spectacular. Controls are reponsive and snappy leading to pretty smooth combat on both controller and mouse and keyboard.

The Game currently features 3 “Intellects” to choose from :

The Hex whose entire build is revolved around Flatout Burstdamage , Crit , High DPS and Mobility . but very squishy.

TL:DR - This is a fun little twin-stick, ability-shooter game with some nice variety and customization, but left me wishing there was more of it. I enjoyed the game’s bullet-hell brawler feel as a change of pace from more technical games like Helldivers or longer-term time sinks like Diablo 3. Worth playing.
Pros:
+Decent class variety. Offers 3 classes which each have a primary focus, but have several ways you can play them and different twists you can put on their abilities.
+Growth feels rewarding in the way it enhances power and increases playstyle options.
