*** RE-REVIEW UPDATE ON JULY 3, 2021 ***
The developer reached out to me via email and asked me to re-review this game after his updates and “big update 3.0”, so I decided to give his game another chance considering the number of updates this game has seen since my first review more than a year ago…
This video shows my reactions to the current state of this game on July 3rd of 2021:

In all honesty and good faith I cannot recommend this game, as I didn’t enjoy it at all, and I believe that even for a tenth of its price you could buy a better game.
If you want you can watch my first impression and some considerations regarding the game and the studio (one man team) in the following video.
I think everyone should also take into consideration the statement released by the developer on June 22nd, date that follows the production of my video, where I point out things that were then addressed by Cenokga in the following statement: https://cenokga.com/my-experience-after-first-game-release-a-letter-from-the-developer/

Flame Over
In this game you play the worst firefighter in the world. The gameplay is awful, everything about this game is terrible. Its a simple idea but with so little polish it still feels like an alpha build. Oddly this game is a port from the Vita so one would think it would be a finished or better product for PC but its actually worse. This game once it got greenlit literally became abandonware the next day with the devs vanishing never to return to the community or fix any of the issues of the game.

Let’s just get this out of the way right now: I love this game.
There is something about roguelikes that I love. Except almost all of them try to be copycat versions of another game. Rarely does a game try to actually do something unique! So what makes Flame Over so different? Is it because you’re slogging through a dungeon/space station fighting enemies, drinking potions that you aren’t sure could kill you? No. Nothing like that. You’re fighting an enemy. That enemy is fire. Electrical fires and regular fires. There are flame overs as well as fire that spit out embers which can set other things alight!

Vermitron
Very cutesy action game with old school art. If you are up for a retro adventure and like exploration, give it a go!
It doesn’t look that challenging, but it’s not easy. Also, there are some mechanics I didn’t get at first, but you learn as you progress more in the game.

TL;DR: Give Vermitron a shot.
When most people think of twin-stick shooters, they think of raw micro mechanics. Disciplined aiming, shooting, and dodging, instead of careful, methodical thinking. Tibor Fobel embraces the later, fabricating a retro and tower defense hybrid. The result: a solid, old-school action game that deserves more attention.
Vermitron follows an intrepid astronaut, defending an endangered flower from invading insects. Player’s progress level-to-level, descending further into an infested base. Winning a floor is simple: blossom your flower by collecting three watering cans. However, hungry pests will be squirming to your base, so you’ll have to defend your plant along the way. Slaughtering worms and flies is easy. The trouble comes when picking up a watering can, which spawns a wave of insects. You also become slower, barely moving faster than a grub. Without a base defended by armed towers, your flower will be easy pickings as you travel back.
