I cautiously recommend this game only if you can look past its shortcomings. I have been playing since ~2008 when I was only 12yr old.

The Good:

There is something about this game that can get you addicted like no other. The player base is very close (admittedly also rather small) and everybody knows everyone else and that makes the community very strong. You can create your own team join a team (aka clan, faction, country) and take control of start systems and use the resources within them to build ships, weapons, space stations, and become an industrial powerhouse. But you better be prepared to defend what you own. Much like a country in real life, your team could become a true superpower with all the fame and infamy that comes with it. You can exercise your hard and soft power as you see fit. Politics are very real in this game and I love it. Likewise, if you upset too many players they may declare war against you. Every solar system you own and space station you build is at risk. In a worse case scenario you could lose all of your territory, all of your industry, and be forced to surrender which almost always results in the death of said team. This is something I really like about this game. You have a lot of freedom and the choices you make can make you insanely rich, respected, and powerful. But you could lose it all.

TLDR - A decade+ after the game’s initial launch there is still nothing else quite like Star Sonata on the market today.

The game is heavily influenced by the Star Control series and combines 90’s style arcade action with MMO character development and an almost limitless item progression that rivals many modern MMOs. It has in-depth base building that is basically a whole different game unto itself where you can make money doing colonies, making gear, selling industrial commodities and more. The PvE content is typically fun and offers a variety of solo and group style engagements.. The PvP and team vs team combat probably needs the most improvement but the game doesn’t really revolve around those.

Wyvern

Wyvern

This game is a revival of a 20+ year old game that maintains many of philosophies of old school gaming.

First thing first. This Game Is Hard. Hand-holding is new, and slowly being introduced to help the new generation of gamers, but for the most part you are going to have a hard time. Be prepared to get lost, be prepared to die. Be prepared to get confused. Fortunately, the community is very kind and is always willing to give you a helping hand.

Why is the game good? It allows nearly infinite customization. You can make your character into nearly anything you want - A Stone giant mage? We’ve got you covered. A blade-wielding ninjja pixie? Yup. A halfling who is demi-god and master of the elements that slays multiple foes at once with a combination of dragon breath and thunderstorms? You betcha. There is also an insane amount of replay value as you dream up unique combinations of characters and then create and play them to see your ideas come to life.

This is a great old-school, “open-world” game that has been around long before Steam. I’ve been a fan since 2007. I don’t know if I’d call it a MUD or an MMO anymore, but it fills a niche that other games just don’t seem to be able to these days.

In Wyvern, players train their characters by fighting monsters throughout the maps of the world, through randomly generated dungeons, and by performing quests for the NPCs of the world. Each level rewards skill points for a player to allocate as they please. There are a handful of races to chose from, and many skills to train that players can train at their own whim with skill points gained through levelling up, though meta skill builds do tend to be the most powerful.

Leafling

Leafling

Leafling itself is a interesting game to say the least. The concept of it is great, really well thought out and over all a great game. The people who run the game are a COMPLETELY different story. The fact that they can ban you for simply asking for ETA (82 days waiting on 3 items.) on custom items that you have paid for is beyond me. They give you timelines of when you should be expecting them and fall back on those promises. They continue to “forget” to give people items that they have paid for(when they have the items apparently finished) and then blame the customer for “back charging”. It is clear to me why people who have purchased those items back charge as you simply just do not get what you paid for. Would love to support the game and see it grow but with developers such as Aesthetic make the game so unplayable due to her toxic mindset is just disgusting. It really pains me to have to leave such a negative review but the things that happened regarding Aesthetic just make the whole experience a dumpster fire.

Phobos

Phobos

Many of us old Phobos players have been involved in this game for 10+ years. If you want a game that can make you feel nervous about adventuring into the next dark chamber, then this is the MMO for you. Its beautiful landscapes and mysteries that lie within the deep will you keep you active for years. If you enjoy a game with a history and story then Phobos will bring you that warm feeling that many MMOs have forgotten about. The progress for your character requires vigilance and time to fully wield a mage or warrior in the world of Phobos. The PVP is balanced and ferocious. During PVP, team work is everything. This game will see Wars and challenges to come with its release. Phobos is a light in a world of so many confusing MMO’s. Be sure to check out there discord, and be sure to get to know the community. Join to be apart of something old and new.

It’s a good game. Don’t knock it until you try it. Phobos has been out for a bit over a decade now, and has finally released to Steam. Some parts of the game can seem a little clunky and unintuitive when you’re first getting familiarized, but there is a guide manual, as well as an awesome community of players in the Phobos Online Discord. Much can be said about the Myth Entertainment team as well; They have been passionately working on this project for years, making changes, tweaks, design changes to make this an unforgettable experience that will leave you coming back for more! Meet friends, explore, hunt creatures, laugh, drink, be merry! Phobos most certainly holds an excellent adventure for anyone daring enough to brave the wilds of the world of Erasen!

I have over 150+ hours and these CMs are the worse CMs ive ever seen in any mmorpg game they are so bad do not recommand playing unless you wanna get banned for something dumb!

I have more than 300 hours of gameplay and I came here to talk about the game: (version 3.2)

Good stuff:

1. Totally free to play so far

2. Interesting and challenging missions.

3. Interesting magic system

4. Rare items and difficult to obtain.

5. Interesting Pvp

Problems:

1. Poor balance Some classes are better than others.

2. Toxic community and many racist people … for you to have an idea the developers will remove the monkey mob from the game because of that.

3. Bad market system (can improve many things)

The game has one of highest toxic community I have ever seen, those people publicly admitted to using bugs to take advantage of the game instead of reporting them, the content is very short right now and there is a balance issue as well as it needs a lot of quality of life improvement.

The game in overall is based on action combat even thought there is a tab targetting that allows to use special class ability.

The leveling has absolutly no reward, only equipments matter, killing rats will give you more exp than doing dungeons.

Real player with 1542.9 hrs in game

The game is pretty fun, still lots of content being worked on at the moment that’s yet to come in the game and there isn’t much benefit in playing hours and hours per day to the point it starts feeling like a chore so you can take your time with the game and be patient, go at your own pace. The community and people in discord are friendly and helpful as well, don’t hesitate to ask for advice.

Some people have been writing reviews about Zeus saying he’s toxic, but after playing for over 300 hours and frequently with all of the other active players, this hasn’t been the case at all and he even changed my name for free with the exception I was new, which wasn’t an offered service. Both the devs are nice people and they have a discord you can join to talk with the community and make suggestions for the game which they are very open to.

Hi guys, I am a level 468 in the game called FeelThePaiN. And I want to correct a couple of bad reviews from new players who have only played for ONLY a couple of hours … The game IS NOT AFK-FARMING. Yes indeed, we have this new Auto Normal attack system to help us not to click all the individual mobs and to help you rest your fingers. This auto normal attack system does not work for PvP, you have to click on the person to hit them. Others say the game is easy … Well, keep playing and find out. The game is BIG! I’m still having a great time with my Brazilian friends cultivating monsters at level 600. I’m addicted to getting stronger. The game is not paid to win. You can buy gems for real money and it can be used to upgrade your inventory, warehouse, Premium, body skin, and other accessories. This game has good potential. Please give it a try. Join the Discord game to learn more, ask any question and you will always get an answer. Thanks

Brazil game, expect people trying to steal your kidney and lunch money, There is an english guild that you may want to avoid, they offer help, but then invite you out into a PVP area and kill you with training monsters onto you and hitting a heal spell that turns them invisible,

Crafting requires millions of resources and clicking the same thing over and over again,

Auction House limits, unless you buy gems,

It has a way to buy Gems via game gold, but it’s only for the very high level players who are trying to kill you in pvp areas,

Played enough to write an honest unbiased review. The game is p2w and heavily pay for convenience. Let me tell you why. Current max level in this game is 30, you get 3 bag SLOTS upon finishing all 3 quests, 1 per quest. If you take up crafting which is a must for endgame because you have to craft your gear to progress to the hardest dungeons - there goes damn near all your space right there from crafting materials. They force all these “extra” things that take up space down your throat in an attempt to force you to buy space. You may say, “well, what’s the harm in that? they have to make money somehow!?”

This is a pixel survival crafting RPG. It has quests, weapons, armour crafting, boss fights and zones with leveling segments.

I’ve played this game for just about two weeks now and I found the game to be endlessly frustrating. This game is quite boring. It has a never ending loop of the same music that plays on and on forever, only ever changing for boss fights and caves.

Most of the people in the game are quite friendly but unless you are max level, nobody will want to group up with you to do any of the mid-tier boss fights and dungeons. I found this to be quite annoying because certain quests cannot be turned in without completing them at least once.

I find the top review ridicolous on multiple levels, otherwise I wouldn’t bother writing one myself. I will try my best to make it stand on it’s own.

This is a puzzle, adventure and exploration built on grind, trade and fight that varies in difficulty based on your intellect, based on the choices you make regularly.

For starters(this all will only be a start), you have the choice to gather any combination of materials, to craft hundreds of variations of gear.

That means traveling shoes with work gloves or traveling gloves with work shoes.

For the first fifteen levels or so, this game is a cozy, single-player, free-to-play PvE RPG experience, and the community will likely help if you encounter any issues. That much I can recommend trying: it should give you a good idea of whether or not you’d enjoy the game long-term.

Nevertheless, the foundation of the game has several major flaws:

  1. Completing quests requires that you max level all adventure skills: such as subterfuge, academics, perception, etc. You can’t specialize. So, even though the game advertises the freedom to level however you want, in the long run there’s no real choice, because you need -all- the skills. Increasing your primary level also provides no choices. It increases your HP, and perhaps most notably, causes lower-level mobs to ignore you.
