Storms 2

Storms 2

Scratch the surface and you will find a pretty decent Action RPG.

Struggled at first, and the title looked fairly barebones but slowly found that this title has all the ARPG components. You have the normal merchant, potion seller, healer, stash etc. Upgrade paths are particularly impressive as is the variation in the enemies that you will find.

Graphics might be fairly basic, but the game-play is there.A good value for money title!

A work in progress at launch here, but a project of passion from this new indie developer on Steam. He’s already fixed several little bugs and taken a few of my suggestions to make this game better to heart and made the suggestions I advised in videos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOLQr2IWd_Y

I like this, and I LOVE the value here at just $5 USD. The skill tree and inventory system are beyond impressive and well worth the price alone.

More to come to this review as I play this game more but great job to this admirable indie developer!

Ouroboros Dungeon

Ouroboros Dungeon

I’m writing this review after about 5 hours of play time.

This game has received a fair amount of negative criticism. I read the criticism before buying Ourboros Dungeon. Much of the criticism is well deserved, but I’m still giving the game a thumbs up as I still enjoyed it and think it has potential if the Saulo expands on the game a bit.

Before I get into what I like about the game I want to echo some of the criticisms mentioned:

Space God mentions “Unfinished…None of the traps or other map features do anything.” Not being able to break objects is a bummer. At one point I got “stuck” in the middle of a broken table (broken already in the game) and wasn’t able to break my way out (I found a way, but it took a bit of movement, and I never ended up in a table after). There are what appear to be traps (the spikes coming out of the floor), but they’re already activated and you just go around the other side where it looks like spikes might shoot up (but they never do). Several areas have rooms where it looks like you might be able to jump across onto a grate to go elsewhere, but this isn’t possible in the current game.

Ouroboros Dungeon is a cute light-weight top-down dungeon crawler.

There are some weaknesses. The main weakness being, there is no character screen that explains what the various attributes mean, i.e. no way for the player to know the difference between +5 Attack and +5 Magic… Another problem is there are too many apparent objects that do nothing switches that don’t switch anything,

A bit more information and a few more meaningful choices would improve gameplay significantly.

That said at less than $5.00 the price was right,

I like of diabloid games, I have played D2, D3 for a lot of hours and more than 12k hours in Path of Exile, what can I say. The game is very interesting, It is interesting to kill mobs, and this is the most important thing in such games. Good optimization, nice graphics (no ripped-out pixels). Although early access is still damp, but very suitable, I will follow the development of the project

Go through gloomy dungeons full of loot, monsters and traps. Locations are easy to walk through, although sometimes more intricate corridors come across. There is a lot of loot from monsters, so there will be no problems with what to wear).

positive sign:

  • Nice graphics in places.

  • Good music and soundtrack.

  • Quite a lot of types of equipment.

  • Nice, rather confusing locations. It’s interesting to explore.

  • Evil monsters with rapidly growing power. Fortunately, the quality of the equipment also grows adequately.

I have been a member of Steam for quite a few years I really do not write a lot of reviews. I do not even post that often. But this game has frustrated me to the point I feel I have no choice.

I played the game even though there were things that bothered me but for some reason it intrigued me. I mean using the same mouse click to attack with as you use to move can be a major PITA when you are trying to not eat a bosses enrage.

I have definitely yelled at my avatar a time or two begging him to move and not attack. But I played through.

This is a review from a long lost fan of the game. I play this game with my last save of Eternium on mobile, then login back with this PC version.

I played this game on mobile version since 4 years ago (counted from today’s release of early access on PC today, and the last mail i got in game that still stay). Been liking it on how it has some unique aspects like swiping and drawing sign controls, important loots were pretty easy to get like set gears and what not, cuz you can combine some gears into better version of it. All currencies can be acquired through in game, which was only gold and gems. Some upgrades may requires you to wait real time, but it was still comfy for sometime.

Pagan: Absent Gods

Pagan: Absent Gods

My hours on the game are only for Steam, my actual hours are somewhere in the hundreds if not close to 1000. Been playing since the first alpha phase. So let me talk about the game from there. The first 3 points of this review is formatted like “most people say X, but actually Y” so I hope you’ll read it all.

1. People complain about the WASD. Many of these complaints suggest that there is no use of the mouse. This is heavily misleading. WASD + Mouse allows for directional movement while aiming skills and dodges simultaneously. Adding click to move would mean that directional skills would have to be aimed only with the direction a character is facing, or with WASD, and you wouldn’t want that would you? Embrace the WASD + Mouse Aim! Try something new!

I don’t usually write reviews but I think I needed to take time off and post a review for this game. WALL OF TEXT incoming.

Overview

After playing this game for approximately 100hrs I believe that Steam needs to have a policy in place to refund gamers when a Game company does not make good on their promises. This game has glaring issues and bugs and should have NEVER made it out of early access/beta. The fact this game was launched is an insult to gamers who have invested their money on this.

this one is in need of Speed…..havent played very long yet but, it is in need of some speed. looks good. so far, so good for early access. havent had any tech problems with it and, havent found a bug yet. just slow, thats my only problem so far. worth a look but, i would wait for a few more patches/updates. see what happens. will amend as we go

been a while, still needs a lot of work. still slow, i understand that items boost speed but wow is this slow going. also, whats up with not being able to start a mage ? you are stuck with sword and bow. the skelly’s lvl up fast. now dodge until you put points into it. the troll is still a grind. way to slow.

early look at game.

Great graphics. Looks like planned for LONG term play.

Bad.

Absolutly NO information given. NONE!!

movement is low, aiming is slow and blatently off. the first quest is definatly going to use all your gold and potions and even then you have to be lucky. dont bother tryign to be a mage as you cannot until you get to mid game. and to survie to mid game you have to focus vitality defence and physical. if you kite something, it runs back and heals so kiting not working.

Overall: not a good showing so far. I will play some more to see if it improves, but so far not impressed with the plot thought.

Gran Vitreous

Gran Vitreous

This game is probably the best value for your dollar on Steam, period. A strong RPG progression system that includes both equipment changes, skills, and even a form of crafting. The base game is a 2d space shooter, but all of its parts combine to make something you don’t want to miss.

Pros

  • A wide variety of weapons which all function differently.

  • Several abilities to choose from in the form of a ‘Utility’ slot

  • Many levels, all randomly generated

  • A bonus system, also random, allowing you to challenge yourself

The paper napkin pitch? Twinstick shooter roguelite. Geometry Wars mashed with Rogue Legacy, with a dash of FTL.

-Geometry Wars: You are a shape, shooting other shapes for points.

-Rogue Legacy: There is an item progression and a skill progression. You retain these when you die, which allows you to push further.

-FTL: The game is comprised of 4 sectors that you must progress through and defeat the boss at the end.

Being a roguelite there is also a healthy amount of randomization throughout. Each sector has dozens of levels. Each level is randomly generated with a subset of the enemy shapes, and various buffs and debuffs. For example, 50% smaller playfield, 200% Enemy health, 75% increased item rarity, and an ASTEROID FIELD. Beat one level and unlock paths to 2-5 others which are similarly randomized. The classic FTL conundrum of pushing forward to simply survive to see the final encounter, versus moving laterally for more loot/XP is in full effect here (though there is no pressure of an enemy fleet encroaching).

I have to say that I really enjoy this game. I love how it was made and how it looks! I enjoy the voice acting. The names of the items found can be a bit silly, but sometimes they are kind of funny. I find it funny when one of my dogs decide they want to pee all over something. Successfully running away from the park patrol gives me a great deal of accomplishment. My dogs likes to bark a lot. Sometimes my dogs like to run from me and then I gotta chase him down or my dogs like to get caught around a tree or rock, it is so funny. Collecting loot and completing my collections are so much fun and extremely addicting!

Its a fun little game with a good amount of humor and creative puns. The game-play is simple and easy to pick up and it offers a decent challenge for a game which is just a glorified scavenger hunt. Great if you want to play something different and change it up. For the price, actually kind of worth it.

Only real con I would give is the controls are very frustrating. Sometimes your dog wants to do their own thing for no apparent reason outside of dog logic and they’re going to do it regardless of how inconvenient it is to you. You want to go right, screw you, the dog goes left. You want the dog closer, naw the dog feels like walking away and breaks the leash. The park warden is chasing you, the dog thinks this a great time to stop and sniff some stuff. The dog secretly hates you and you’re going to have to deal with that fact. It can get really aggravating sometimes and I found myself slamming my keyboard once or twice and how unresponsive the controls felt, but I guess that’s how it really feels to walk a dog.
