KAMIKO

KAMIKO

Don’t judge a game by it’s cover: Kamiko is simple in it’s graphic and concept, yet it’s very challenging and entertaining. Four levels with increasing difficulty, three different maidens to beat them and purge the evil from the sacred lands:

Yamato: Blue haired girl from a family of water maidens, with her Blade of Kusanagi at hand, moves really fast. She has a little less power than the other two, but she can restlessly swing her sword, slaying enemies like no others can.

Uzume: A pink haired girl in deep connection with the forest is bestowed the Magatama of Yasakani, a powerful yumi. She can’t move during an attack, but her long ranged arrows make up for that, keeping her safe from any evil.

First of all, you might like this game if you also like The Legend of Zelda or Touhou.

With that out of the way, don’t be fooled by the game’s short length. There are three playable characters, and they play so differently it’s well worth your while to play through the entire game as all three and doing so even once makes the game more than worth its asking price. Here, let me analyze them:

Yamato:

Weapon: Blade of Kusanagi (short-range, sweeping sword)

Difficulty curve: Shallow

Difficulty of stages: Moderate

Wonderful little farming game from SKIPMORE and Kan.Kikuchi! This game has lots of things for you to do around your farm and an island. There are lots of items to collect and quests to complete. Lots of quality of life features are present in this game, as well as a catalog for the different items and people you have encountered. The game is in early access at the time of this review, and there are plans for lots more content to be added!

If wanted to get because cheaper then other games on steam not $35 I recommend you get it either on sale or regular price.

Game itself was not bad.

I am not sure if they character customization yet - I like to see that.

Not sure if avatar evolves or levels up like if you pick a race that sort thing.

Like: I think farming aspects are similar to real life/ foraging/beating up monsters.

Graphics reminds of pixel art graphics if weren’t for mobs being different and regions.

Relationships improve on help, item unlock, new recipe.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground

Been playing since the Beta, most of the complaints are about the bugs and the fact that it feels like we only got half of a a game. While I do agree with many of these complaints I will say that the half of a game we did get is actually pretty good.

Presentation and Graphics are pretty spot on, all things considered this looks like an Age of Sigmar game. Voice acting is actually really well done with its over the top nature kind of reminding me of those old dawn of war games. The Soundtrack leaves a bit to be desired which is disappointing when considering the music that they used for the trailers was great.

This game is a good game, if you like grinding a lot.

I would personally rate this as neutral if it was possible.

Would say you can easily fishing each factions starting (realm) campaign somewhere between 6 - 10 hours each.

Which is good, that part of the game doesn’t feel like a slog.

The problem begins after you finish the first realm for faction, a second option opens up for you to start a longer campaign that comprises of 2 realms in a row.

Maybe I was just unlucky with the rng, but, the difficulty starts to get a bit skewed, when you get to the end of the first realm of the extended campaign. You will find you have a full roster at this point but they are all to low of a level and ultimately probably wont be much use to you.

Circle Empires Rivals

Circle Empires Rivals

Circle Empires: Rivals is the multiplayer successor to Circle Empires. At its core, Circle Empires Rivals is a 10-25 minute long real time strategy game. Despite the short game length, it has quite a lot of content and depth, and easily gets a strong recommendation given its moderate to low price point.

At the time of writing this review, the game has 7 different game modes, 26 commanders with unique army compositions and bonuses, 6 difficulty settings, 5 different map sizes, and within the various game modes (such as stop the army and monster hunt) there are also different scenario selections available. The different game modes range from very easy to very difficult, and even with 4 people working together in a co-op game certain modes like Defend the Castle mode is extremely difficult on even moderate difficulty settings, so if you like a PvE challenge, the game has this available.

Must buy for every RTS fan and people who would like to experience something unique with alot of variety.

You can play this game on easy mode or incredible challenging. There are a lot of game modes and coop makes alot of fun too. The game is also very well made no bugs and a great interface!

Got 32hours on the first one and with this game I expect getting closer to 100+ hours for only 8-12 euro you got great value.

If you want to play this coop, but don´t have someone to play it with, I am always looking for people to play it with, since it just makes even more fun in coop-mode.

Driftmoon

Driftmoon

The game is quite nice to look at and is fairly fun to play as a rather short and very casual game. It’s definitely geared toward kids and if there were no combat it would be perfect for extremely sheltered young’uns – though maddeningly twee and boring for adults. Without combat it would be mind-numbingly dull.

Combat is very simple, you choose your weapon and click on the enemy and it auto-fights for you. It has a very basic skill tree where you are able to choose if you want to put xp points into weapons, or into passive skills or into other benefits.

This is a fun and forgiving game with lots of charm. Definitely recommended, even if you’re a newbie to RPGs. While the storyline is linear and it’s always obvious where your next checkpoint is, you still have decent freedom to explore a large and detailed map to discover sidequests.

Pros:

  • You can equip your companions with your own equipment.

  • When your companions follow you around the map, they will automatically comment on things that are interesting to them, e.g.

! Word’s comment when he passed by a petrified statue of his father in the final dungeon

Dynamic Dungeons Editor

Dynamic Dungeons Editor

For those who don’t know, this is a complete re-do of the old Dynamic Dungeon Editor which had a some what dated feel to it.

The new DDE is built with Unity and has a much better feel to it.

If you play table top role playing games on a TV, monitor, or projector setup with people physically in the room with you (not playing remotely) this is the best software currently out.

It has a small learning curve in my opinion, but honestly anyone can use the basic features: load a map (animated or static) and start playing Dungeons & Dragons or whatever RPG your heart desires.

Real player with 142.4 hrs in game

I originally purchased Dynamic Dungeons through Patreon and it has been a game changer for our DnD games. The ability to use a quick change map, pre-build the campaign, download or create custom props and then reveal it all slowly with fog of war is just amazing. Add to that the options for particle effects, motion background and immersive environmental sounds and you have a classy set up for your DnD gaming sessions.

I do all my creation on my robust PC and then copy the campaign over to the laptop for the session itself. We set up a 40" LCD TV on a pool table with Plexiglass on top to set out miniatures on. The players move their minis and I control NPCs, fog of war and other features from my laptop for them to view on the screen.

Twilight Memoria

Twilight Memoria

I’ve always been a diehard fan of the RPG that carries the ATB system. Just mention it like Final Fantasy V, VI, VII, VIII, IX they are all my favorites! So when I saw a new RPG maker game that carried this system, I was very enthusiastic.

This might be my serious review considering that I really support the indie game climate of the JRPG genre.

1. Opening

The first time I played, I felt a stutter in the map scrolling section in the village; it made my head quite dizzy I don’t know why; is this my VGA error? I don’t understand, but I tried to hold it and play again.

JUST COMPLETED.

TL;DR 9/10 GAME.

This game is good but needs some fixing. Let me describe my playing experience below:

Twilight Memoria is an RPG game where you play as two children: Rucifar and Luna, in a fantasy world full of monsters. They play around their village and help other villagers with their monster-hunting and alchemy skills. They either hunt monsters, or craft items to use in battle or to aid them in their quests. It’s a heartwarming, everyday life type story where you are not in some big adventure or saving the world, but the game is still very challenging in the battle system and how you survive your quests. UPDATE: THE ENDING WILL STRIKE YOU IN UNEXPECTED WAYS. THIS IS GOOD.
