Black Sun

Black Sun

In this game, you fly a space ship through an open world. Your sidekick is an AI assistant who understands your text-written commands and helps you to steer the ship, survive heavy space combat or to find the next gas station.

"Space is a terrible place. The kidnapping of my brother and the Captain’s death didn’t make it easier. Thank god, there is Hopper."

You play Eli, a young man stranded on the antique star freighter Lucky Beggar. You don’t like space yet here you are.

Features

  • Text freely in natural language with your AI assistant Hopper: let her fly the ship, get her help during combat or ask for a market analysis to maximise your trading profit. She knows a lot - including terrible space jokes.

  • A large 2D open-world universe containing numerous solar systems, space stations and ships to discover. Large means astronomical and impossible-to-fly-through. Be grateful if the jump engine works properly.

  • Find your kidnapped brother while making interstellar friends and enemies. An over 5-hours long cinematic storyline is waiting for you!

  • Enjoy epic space battles with hundreds of ships.

  • You decide how you pay the bills for fuel and supplies: be a smart trader, solve rewarding quests or take missions from shady people in the space pub.

  • Your ship is a temple. Repair it, get upgrades and don’t fly it into asteroid fields. Those dents stay.

  • Put on the headphones, fasten your seat belt and relax: one hour of orchestral soundtrack - originally composed just for this game!

  • Modding encouraged! Most of the game’s content is freely changeable by using a beginner-friendly script language and images. Add your own quests, ships or places. Teach new commands to the AI assistant.

If you already have this game on your phone, don’t buy this. You can transfer your account but all purchased tracks don’t. I’m not paying for the same track twice.

Mouse Hunter

Mouse Hunter

I bought the game with $1.50 and that was a mistake.

I take purchasing this game as a life lesson to not impulse buy stupid games.

The only reason I would recommend purchasing this would be if you want to annoy your neighbours by putting this sound track on full and leaving the house

Mouser Hunter is a masterpiece of video game narrative. Nothing else even comes close nowadays. The story is bold, and almost always “fun”. It is harrowing, forcing the player to confront feet in a way most video games have never done.

In a medium where everything is John Wick, Mouser Hunter is Schindler’s List. And just like that film, there were times when I wasn’t sure I could keep going. It is a relentless emotional assault that I suspect will force even the most vanilla gamer to feel emotion.

Em-A-Li

Em-A-Li

I hate when there is no options for key bindings. Don’t like playing with arrow keys on pc. Both Em-A-Li games can be navigated by mouse, that’s good but you have to press enter key to enter doors or use items, which ruins it.There is a non stop static noise in bg from start which is annoying for me. The story is not that good and the voice narration lags behind the words narration so I end up reading faster and skip which ruins the fun.No options for narration format so no choice. Game is small and doesn’t eat up time. If i play it continuously it will finish within 35 mins i guess. Still not worth the time for me. Ended up watching youtube while playing lol.

Another of those games where the overall rating is probably neutral, but there’s no such option on Steam, so I’ll err on the positive side because I did enjoy my short time with it (my playtime is quite a bit longer than what you need, I started in a different computer and then I tried to be very thorough).

The game is almost a visual novel/walking simulator in terms of how limited interaction is. There’s a few hotspots along the way which you can interact for more flavour text which can be mixed, but the main narrative has a grand total of one meaningful “choice” in it, which really only skips you some small amount of content if you take the more “obvious” (at least if you are generally genre savvy) option. I saved at this supposed fork in the road and when I came back to see what happened and was relatively unimpressed with what was there.

it was a fun game to try out i suck so bad at it but ill learn in time :)

I have a book that details many Chess variants including this one. Some of the moves and rules differ somewhat from what I found in other sources. Are multiple variants of this game actively played in Korea? The program, as it is, is good for those just getting introduced to Korean Chess. It is not a program that will satisfy stronger players.

The Elm Game

The Elm Game

An abstract board game for two players - human or AI - that is easy to learn yet hard to master, played on a tree stump with beautiful procedurally generated backgrounds.

CPU PLAYER

There are three CPU players to choose from. Or ignore them and play against another fellow human. You can also sit back and watch the computer play against itself (helpful for learning the game).

  • The Fly is the easiest AI, meant for casual players or beginners.

  • The Beetle is a more advanced AI for people who want a challenge.

  • The Snail is the hardest AI, meant for highly professional players.

FEATURES

  • Local multiplayer / Remote play together

  • Single-player vs. computer with three difficulty levels

  • Steam achievements

  • Simple controls suited for mouse, controller and touch input

  • Quick reference describing the rules, controls and some tips for beginners

  • Randomly generated backgrounds

  • Runs on low end hardware

GAMEPLAY

The players Black and White take turns. Each turn a player chooses to either place a stone on any free point of the board or to change the color of any trapped stone. A stone is trapped if two or three stones of different color lie next to it. The game ends when there is no free point left and whoever has the most stones on the board wins.
