The Emerald Tablet

The Emerald Tablet

If you’re looking for a alchemy game that brings the fun of trial and error from combining stuff, be aware that this game does NOT provide you the adequate tools to do so.

The gaming mechanism is made quite shabby and lack depth. Combination comes either with npc telling you the complete recipe or you get nothing. Several specific mats appear only once in the entire game, but you still need it repetitively for other recipes.

The foe becomes unreasonably strong in late game (from 3rd year) and balance become completely broken.

As a huge fan of the Atelier series, I really wanted to like this game, but it really needs a manual or in-game database. There doesn’t seem to be any way to discover recipes outside of trial-and-error in free mixing mode.

The Last Islands of Man

The Last Islands of Man

I wanted to like this game, but I can’t recommend it in its current state.

I played this game after watching a critique of it and liking the idea of a game which is brutally difficult, time-bound, and allowed for different classes for your own experience. The game is brutally difficult, but not in a fair way, its just blatantly unbalanced at quite a few points. The initial premise is that the world is being overrun in water, and people and monsters are fighting for the last few scraps of land that remain, you as the hero, are trying to find a solution. That said let’s go over the individual points.

Alluna and Brie

Alluna and Brie

Pros: Good comedy, interesting story, good characters, decent gameplay.

Cons: Gameplay CAN be repetitive at times, story leans too much on knowledge of prior release, REALLY should have mouse input.

A solid, if slightly flawed, first RPG for the developer. While the gameplay is solid and easy to pick up and play, the interface would really work better in every way if mouse functionality worked. The plot leans heavily on events of the developer’s previous game, Max’s Big Bust, in a way that can cause confusion to any who haven’t played that game.

Alluna and Brie is a game that takes several gaming concepts and mashes them together into one pretty cohesive whole. It’s basically a turn-based RPG-light game with a lot of visual novel elements. It also combines time management themes with some mini-games. The “mermaid spikers” sport is mildly fun (not my cup of joe, but has the potential to be addictive), but the Pokemon Go-like mini-game I have yet to try out. It must seem that having so many different playstyles together in one game is a recipe for disaster, but it seems to work.

This game was an enjoyable experience, if you can get past the translation(which adds a bit to the charm for me) and it got many laughs from me,

! i couldnt figure out how to date the detective, got the other 4 routes tho well worth the money for me and i do plan to play again to figure out the one thing i missed.

! Also based on looks and a cursory glance at the game i was going to pass on it at first, but then i read timeloop and immediately hopped in, no regrets.

Garden Tale

Garden Tale

Entertaining enough. Very short. Fun to pull off a full room clear or near full room clear with bonion combo. Still very short. :P

Recommend but for me on sale is the way to go. I am accustomed to more hours for my money though I am unsure I would thumbs up it had it been substantially longer.

I had high hopes for this game as a fan of turn-based strategy, but those hopes were quickly dashed. The only thing Garden Tale has going for it is the artwork, though some suspect character designs (Meryl) manage to tarnish even that.

Garden Tale prides itself on a trap system revolving around Bonions, exploding vegetables that can harm both enemies and allies. The videos and images show large-scale chain reactions that seem exciting and fun, similar to games like Disgaea or La Pucelle. The videos, however, lie about these possibilities in a shameful way, including fabricating combos for show on maps that, in practice, aren’t possible to pull off. Indeed, one segment of the advert video shows a combo on one of the first few maps you play on, with a starting point that would require a long-ranged attack. The problem? There aren’t any long-ranged attacks, particularly not at that point in the very beginning of the game.

Hello everyone!

This is Verinius, the creator of Lawmage Academy. I have been working alone on this project back in 2018 using RPG Maker MV. After releasing the demo in Itch, it was received positively by the community and was featured by several indie game streamers at Twitch. This is my first game and to know that people genuinely enjoyed what I have created makes me happy.

I have no background in making games so I had to learn the necessary skills by watching Youtube tutorials. Currently, I am working full time as a lawyer and work on the game in my free time. Fortunately, I was able to save up some money to commission some illustrations and music for this demo. This is a learning process for me so I am grateful for your patience and support.

I hope you enjoy the demo!

AL・FINE

AL・FINE

In Short:

An improvement of the business mechanics seen from Recettear.

Long Ver:

Recettear, a Japanese indie darling that focuses on being a merchant, years later we now find a very similar game inspired by Recettear.

In Al Fine, you play as Loius, a young man swindled by a Sprite named Alice to pay back for breaking a supposingly precious ‘gem’.

But there is no giant debt hanging over our heads but in place are the guild taxes which occurs a few times per month and when there is a challenge, you have a few days to upped over your opponent’s profits.

AL・FINE is a mix between Visual Novel / Shop Management. It is a nice game but it’s not quite like Recettear. The VN story is about a boy that destroy a Pixie’s jewel and to pay it back he reopens his parents shop. There is other NPCs present in the story but this game doesn’t have any romance or NPC route.

The main purpose of the Shop is to sell a lot of items and compete with others shops in commerce battles. You have 100 days until the end of the game and 4 commerce battles to win.

Difference between Recettear:

Interesting little time management/dating sim game. The art and sprites are pretty original. There are a few points that could be polished and maybe add some saucier H features, but overall its quality is above other chinese games of the genre. I believe this is the first title published on Steam by the dev, I’m certainly in for future releases or more DLCs for this title.
