Naudrion: Fall of The Empire

Naudrion: Fall of The Empire

Very fun game. Exploration galore. Big world. Needs better quest notes. Needs more detail in buildings. (reminds me of Gorgon decor). Leveling is nice, but didn’t notice much progression with power on spells. Ice magic was okay, but a sword seemed more efficient. Need to have increased damage as you level or as you add mana…or just some progression spells. Love the skill books that can be bought since I like to craft too. Crafting seems not in. Couldn’t make an ingot, or make leather. Didn’t seen any Alchemy recipes or cooking etc. Runes sometimes didn’t work, found that dropping them and picking up helped.

Naudrion: Fall of The Empire is an excellent dark fantasy with an open, seamless world, with multiple crafting and interesting tasks.

I like this game that it was created by one person and is constantly updated, it is very cool on the part of the developer that he did not just put the game out and forget but continues to develop it!

Fun little game, really simple gameplay and pretty short in length, but not too bad!

The achievements didn’t work for me though, I didn’t get a single one of them after completing the Story Mode…

If you need to “waste” 5-10 minutes, give it a try!

Gedonia

Gedonia

For one, the developer really cares about this game and it’s still being updated. Two, currently it’s on sale and it’s definitely worth more than what it is, even normal price. If you want a fresh Indie RPG with a nostalgic feeling, character customization, and open world; this it it. Will update my review in the future.

::Update::

Still playing and it’s amazing. Finally got to building my house, it’s a bit quirky with the editing and camera controls, but it will only get better. I haven’t even touched Dungeon mode which has an increased level cap compared to Open World, so if you’re into Dungeon Crawlers; well this has a mode just for you.

Some people are be nostalgic for the 8 and 16 bit era, and there are a ton of Metroidvania and platforming games shoveled onto PC and propped up by paid reviews. Gedonia is something else, and it made me so happy. Rather than the more common rip on the Genesis, Gedonia is like a lost gem from the original X-Box era, in the realms of Galleon or Kameo. There are a lot of simplified, modern touches, but the purity of the game and fantasy genre is endearing. It’s like finding out there was a 3D Zelda game you missed, gameplay wise.

Spellbreak

Spellbreak

Context:

I have been playing since the earliest days of the Pre-Alpha and am probably one of the first players to ever enter. Now to be fair I am not the most active, but combining all platforms together I have somewhere above 1500h playtime since 2018.

Review:

I love this game and that holds true even though this is a negative review. However, I can no longer recommend this game for the following reasons:

1. Spellbreak For Dummies

The game has been “streamlined” from its original complexity in the pre-alpha. From what used to be many different classes and access to every gauntlet at all times (even duplicate gauntlets could be carried), you now get 6 classes and a total of 12 talents. In a lobby you have access to 1 class and 3 talents, which cost talent points to use. You can carry a main gauntlet and an offhand, the exception being the Spellslinger Talent which allows you to carry extra gauntlets and runes in your inventory at the cost of slots for heals.

While I absolutely love Spellbreak’s combat system, it has a lot of missed potential with blaring issues that either never get fixed or take forever to get addressed.

I have been playing the game since it launched back in September with 500+ hours on the Switch version and 150+ on the Steam version.

There are several issues with the game that is easiest just to list out:

1: Bots. Almost every match done in the Battle Royale mode will have some amount of bots in it generated by the game. The game at no point mentions these bots exist within the game nor does the game identify which characters are bots and which are real players. I went my first 10 hours not even noticing that a lot of what I was facing were bots. At low level play it gives a false sense of accomplishment, and at high level play they are just free loot that pretends to fight back.

Very difficult start, but I like it….plus you got a very thiccc plot to work with.

Real player with 25.9 hrs in game

Well I guess I have the job of posting the first english review on this game. I bought Hani because Im obsessed with roguelike games and this one seemed relatively polished for its early state. And I have to say, I was quite impressed. Hani is still very much in “alpha” as the UI is very basic, there’s no real story, structure, or “tone” set yet. However, that which is present is surprisingly fun. The graphics are clean and easy to read (mostly), the combat is pretty fun and can get frantic, and all of the moves are quite varied. Thats all one can ask for at this stage in development. If youve seen this game pop up and avoided it due to the lack of reviews, I would say give it a go, especially if youre a roguelike nerd too. I would really like to see this game get some popularity so the devs can flesh it out more thoroughly.
