Beyond Good and Evil™
About The Game
Beyond Good & Evil, published by Ubisoft in 2003. Where do I start with this game? First off, I want to say that this is a good PC port. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done. I will explain why later. What’s the premise to this game? You play as Jade, a reporter who lives with her pig-uncle Pey’j, taking care of orphans on your lighthouse reservation. In this planet called Hillys, Hillyans fight for survival as evil DomZ, alien-like creatures, take over the planet. A combat force called the Alpha Sections has been sent to fight back the DomZ, but when the Alpha Sections fail to show up during attacks, a suspicious Jade goes undercover for a resistance force called IRIS to see what the Alpha Sections are really up to. Camera in hand, you participate in various undercover missions to expose the Alpha Sections for who they really are.

Beyond good and evil - это классическое игровое приключение, сделанное с душой, во времена когда у юбисофта еще была душа…

Hitman: Blood Money
Classic Hitman! There’s a reason people say this is the best Hitman game so far, and I totally agree.
I used to play this game in my early teens, and bought it again so I could have it on Steam (yeah, it is THAT good).
The missions are well thought-out, and take place on very unique locations. Each level is completely different from the other, and you never get the “I think I’ve done this before” feeling, because this game completely ditches the “Just go there and kill that guy” mechanic. The methods you choose to kill your target (or targets) really do feel unique, and the same thing will never work twice. You have to analyze your surroundings, the relationship between your targets and think about what will happen if you do X (this is one of the few games I ever played where the mission briefing REALLY is worth reading, because it gives you very important insight on the targets).

To start off, this game is awesome, and surprisingly good considering its age. I’ve never played a Hitman game before this one, it was cheap and had higher reviews than the other older games in the series, and I would now definitely consider myself a fan of the series.
This game is a “social stealth” game, meaning that you hide in plain sight, utilizing disguises, subterfuge, and clever tricks of your environment to take down your targets, and walk away nonchalantly from either the chaos (if you like a more comedic high profile approach), everyone’s lack of awareness that any killing happened at all (if you want to be a ninja), or from everyone’s shock that a chandelier “accidentally” fell on the party host’s face RIGHT when his wife blew up from a faulty BBQ propane tank (the best, most difficult, and rewarding way to do things).

Outcast - Second Contact
Outcast has been and always will be my favorite game of all time and this remake is a dream come true for fans of the original. Sadly, to get the full experience from it you must have played the original back in the day because the nostalgia plays a huge role here, there’s no working around it. If you play this as a new player you will definitely still have a great time as long as you keep in mind this is a 22 years old game with good graphics and modernized combat mechanics but same very outdated everything else, like map design, quest design, cutscenes and especially animations. It’s hard to call it a remake, it’s more of a glorified remaster but I’ll call it a remake since that’s what the devs call it and to be honest they deserve it, it’s easy to see how much effort and love they put into it. Also you’ll have to bear with the new and extremely clunky combat/movement system which I’ll talk about later.

A true and beautiful remake that absolutely keeps with the spirit and gameplay of the original while still managing to add a few changes or additions to the gameplay. These appeals to modern gamers while at the same time are not a detriment for old fans in any way. Graphically, this game looks three times more beautiful than the original with it’s sharp and clear renditions of the terrain and characters as well as the background art, and I personally think it (the original) is still a beautiful game in its own right.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy since it was announced for re-release on the PC by THQ Nordic, it looks and feels just like I remember, however, on a 1440p monitor, the GUI elements are extremely small. It’s good that they don’t stretch unnaturally, but the subtitles and button display are quite small and currently have no options to increase them. Developer Swyter has confirmed on the Community Hub that this will be fixed. I’ve only experienced one minor freeze so far, but I think this happened when my Xbox Controller suddenly became disconnected from the computer.

Well this has been a long time coming. This game brings back so many childhood memories. My biggest question is WHERE IS THE 2ND GAME!!! A second game needs to be made. Alright enough ranting for part 2 let’s get into the review.

Beautiful graphics

Very solid story line

Simple and easy controls
-
Not too difficult (Gameplay wise)

Now for the cons

Very short (Completed it in almost less then 12 hours)
-
Very little to no voice acting

Lost Planet® 2
Resident evil 2 remake edit: One of the bosses and enemies had reused sound effects from the monsters in lost planet 2. Not sure if that means anything concerning Lost Planet’s continued decay but at least they know this game/franchise is still here.
Despite the protest, a LP2 (lost planet 2) using the steam doo-hickey system rather than GFWL (Games For Windows Live) will most likely not happen, but dont let that discourage you from buying the game. You see comments talking about how GFWL prevents the game from launching or doesnt work period.

Lost planet 2 is something of an old gem. It was my first online game ever and the adoration I have for it is deep. Perhaps this adoration even blinds me to its issues, my mind telling me that’s just how the game is. For now though I will attempt (read, attempt) to place that adoration aside to give this game a fair review. So…
To start out this game can be a pain to get running. It has Games For Windows Live, and for those of you who don’t know Games For Windows Live is an old, deprecated, cripplingly poor attempt to create an online infrastructure similar to something you might find on a console. It registers your game’s online keys, allows for the creation and retrieval of online profiles, loadouts, and achievements. It lets you play the damn game with friends and invite them. Without GFWL, this game virtually does not exist. But GFWL is a shambling corpse of what it was. NOW, that’s not to say you can’t get that corpse up and running. Check out the guides section and find one of the GFWL setup guides which led to a friend getting done in minutes what took me hours to stumble through. Also, keep in mind this game really doesn’t play well on some setups if not installed to the default install directory, usually on the C drive. And if you crash after missions, switch to the other directx version in the launcher.

STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast™
Several years ago, when I was a kid, I bought a CD copy of this game as part of the Star Wars: The Best of PC collection. I had fun with it, but I was young and bad at the game, so really all I did was just fool around with the in-game cheats. I saw the game on Steam for cheap and decided to give it a more thorough playthrough this time around. After completing it, I can tell you, with absolute certainty, that this game is fantastic and holds up very well. I’ll break the review up into a few sections to simplify things.

UPDATE After going to join game the other day, I guess the servers are not there any longer?
They ARE on Jk2MV, so, go with that I would say, less hassle with the resolution and some other visual improvements as well. Anyway keep the above in mind reading forward.

Please just buy this now.
You have no idea. It has the best multiplayer ever of anything ever created ever.
Well, most of the community is on Jedi Knight 3 Academy now, but, read on.
Obviously this game earns my “I fucking love this game badge”.

Garfield Kart - Furious Racing
Thirty seven hours, thirty seven hours is all it takes to see god. Have you ever seen something so magical, so wonderful, that your mind cant help but look back on what could have been. In my thirty seven hours of game-play in “Garfield Kart - Furious Racing” my soul felt as though it left my body. Soon all I could see was Garfield, my toilet, Garfield, my table, Garfield, even my entire house was transforming into Garfield. It was at that moment I realized, it was him, right behind me, staring into my eyes menacingly. I tried to run away but my world began to crumble, the floors collapsed as I fell fifty feet into what seemed to be a massive cooked lasagna, the landing was rough but I seemed to come to my senses quickly. It was then I turned to my left to see Garfield’s massive dong swinging from side to side, his eyes locking onto me as he slammed it down onto the lasagna, I tried to run as quickly as possible but his dong began to suck me in, I screamed as I tried to escape, but no one could hear me. Soon I was being slurped down by his massive sausage, my screams slowly becoming muffled as everything turned black, it was over. Although I am still currently engulfed in Garfield’s massive nuts I cant deny loving every second of it, if your a fellow Garfield lover and love big nuts covered in lasagna please by all means purchase thirty seven copies for you all of your friends, 10/10 would play again, oh also nerf Odie that dude OP as hell.

“I do not assume any phrase can give an explanation for a person’s existence,” says one of the searchers thru the warehouse of treasures left in the back of with the aid of using Jonathan Arbuckle. Then we get the well-known collection of pictures main to the closeup of the phrase “Garfield” on a kart that has been tossed right into a furnace, its paint curling withinside the flames. We keep in mind that this become Arbuckle’s adolescence kart, taken from him as he become torn from his own circle of relatives and despatched east to boarding school.

Shenmue III
Ah, Shenmue 3, how I have longed for the light of your presence to shine upon thee…
Heads up to those who peruse this review: I’m a HUGE shenmue fan. I backed this game on kickstarter and have played the game twice on Sony PlayStation 4.
Let’s forget all of the nonsense associated with Deep Silver and the Epic Game Store exclusivity. How is THE GAME?
A mixed bag.
Let’s start with the graphical presentation. Shenmue 1&2 were AAA games back in the day; the most expensive games every produced up until that time. Shenmue 3 is a AA game; as such you cannot go into this expecting the latest cutting edge graphics.

Before starting my review, I’d like to point out that we really need a mixed review option on Steam. I hope Gaben will hear our prayers one day. Anyway, as most of you know, Shenmue III is the highest funded Kickstarter game and it is definitely one of the longest awaited one. How long was it… 20 years? I’m not a loyal Shenmue fan, I didn’t wait 20 years for it, in fact, first time I’ve played Shenmue was a few months ago but I was aware of its significance and contributions to the video game culture of course. I also didn’t contributed anything to its Kickstarter campaign but putting myself in one of the loyal fans' place, I’d be extremely disappointed by this game. Especially after waiting nearly 20 years for it. Although I have no doubt that Yu Suzuki and YS Net did their best to bring a solid title to the fans, they’ve made a grave mistake by striking a deal with Deep Silver. 1 year Epic Store exclusivity was straight up disrespectful towards the people who contributed to Kickstarter campaign. Hopefully, they will learn from their mistakes with Shenmue IV. Anyway, let’s take a look at the redeeming qualities first…

The Night of the Rabbit
I’d give this game an A, almost an A+. It was almost the perfect adventure game.
While they could easily have gone for cutesy, they didn’t. The result is charming and haunting. It has anthropomorphized mice, squirrels, and other little creatures of the woods living in the town of Mousewood. The whole story is a charming fairytale. Yet, it rises above the corniness and cuteness that that usually implies. This is no Disney movie. It has points in the story that are sad and points that couldn’t help but make me want to reach through the screen and smack the villain, because they were just the right level of creepy to make this story a class act. There are also some really creepy characters with masks who infiltrate Mousewood who really gave me the willies. The whole charming setup with talking mice and squirrels makes a great backdrop for the creepy villains.

Overall, I enjoyed this as a game and story but it’s not without it’s problems. If you love Point & Click Adventure games then I think you’ll still enjoy it. If you’ve never played a P&C Adventure game this isn’t the one to cut your teeth on.
The story was good. It felt very immersive and the details (though sometimes superfluous) do add to the characters and setting even if they do little to further game play. The story does have some pacing issues with the majority of it feeling pretty light and fun kind of how I felt about watching the first harry potter movie. However, towards the end the darker and more sinister parts of the plot come into play but they never seem to be particularly fleshed out until the very end when we finally get the other 90% of the backstory revealed. Yes, there’s threads of it there of you really piece together everything but, it feels like more of that could have been revealed slowly over the course of the game instead of dumped on you in essentially the end cut scenes.
