Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered

Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered

I’ve not yet played right through this, although I well remember the game having played the old version years ago - on a Windows system that could still support it, of course…

I will say, I always felt the original soundtrack was largely hit-and-miss. In the same way, some of the Remastered tracks pale in comparison to the Retro version - for example, the original Boss music is definitely way better and more intense than the new version. But to balance out, most of the remastered music does actually compliment the original with a more epic and orchestral feel to it.

Ahhh….. this is one of the first game ever played before i am currently. Its feels nostalgic to see this game back on fold since my child days playing it from Playstation2. Now it feels a whole new level for this one.

I mean come on, since when did the remastered has so much boxes overall…. and has more roman laurels than the original one because it feels reaaaly different from the original. But hey…., talking about “romastered” instead of remastered, the graphics itself IS on the new level but guess what…. it also has the ability to switch out the graphics over classic and remastered.

This game is… interesting, to say the least. I bought it because I saw that it had no reviews and I was intrigued by the gameplay trailer. lets get this out of the way, this is not an early access game, this could barely even be called an alpha. It barely works and half the time it feels like its about to fall apart at any second. the controls are stiff, the tutorial barely explains the mechanics, and its overall a very VERY underdeveloped game. However, I still find this game fascinating.

The animations are surprisingly good when it comes to swinging around your “sword”, and when dueling does work it honestly looks pretty damn cool. I can see what the dev is going for and I’m interested in the idea, but I honestly don’t think this game should be for sale in its current state. Despite this, as Ironic as it sounds, I still think you should buy it, not for the game itself but to support the developer. while I don’t think this game will ever be a masterpiece, I do think it has potential to at least become something playable and fun. the last thing I want to happen is for the dev to see low sales and terrible reviews and lose hope in developing this.

As a dude that’s known Pan Panda since about 2018 (and re-introduced myself to it and introduced a friend after a joke), it’s honestly impressive to see a game like Pan Panda evolve into this. I really wanted to like this game, but I just can’t because of the current state it’s in. Don’t get me wrong, this kind of stuff has a lot of potential. I can see this evolving into something people would enjoy!

What I like:

  • The combat system. The combat system is a huge improvement from Pan Panda. The only thing I don’t like about the Combat System has a lack of hints, so it’s very easy to forget combos.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos

You are Pseudo, a powerful warrior living as a recluse in the strange land of Zenozoik. When you become embroiled in a quest for the Artifacts of Chaos, everything changes. Explore the world and defeat your enemies, but never forget the sacred rules of the Ritual.

The Mysteries of Zenozoik

You are about to enter a strange and inhospitable world. During your quest you will meet unusual characters, travel across breath-taking landscapes, and discover ancient secrets.

The Protector and the Protected

Pseudo is a formidable warrior. Despite his outer stoicism, he is haunted by his memories and chooses to live apart from civilization. This quiet existence is upheaved when he meets a small orphaned creature whose incredible healing powers have attracted the attention of Gemini, the terrible mistress of the Artifacts. Unable to leave the boy to face this threat alone, Pseudo decides to protect him – not realizing that larger forces are at play.

The Only Law

In Zenozoik, there is only one law. According to an ancient custom, the rules of combat are determined by a game of dice using artifacts with special properties. To succeed, you will have to search for the most powerful of these artifacts, fighting your battles according to the ever-changing rules of the Ritual.

Martial Arts

To succeed in hand-to-hand combat, you must master all the ancient techniques. Every warrior, no matter how strong, has weaknesses that can be exploited. Grab your enemies, block their hits, stun them, dodge attacks… every opportunity seized takes you closer to victory, but mistakes can be fatal. To bring down the toughest opponents, you will have to perfect your skills.

One Night, Infinite Stars

Every night, Pseudo’s dreams are so vivid that they literally come to life. Enter his mysterious dreamscape and embark on a multiplayer adventure. Play co-op with up to three players or challenge other players in arena combat.

Gameplay

I think one of the surprising things about Debie Zone is that this is not an Early Access title. It feels like a demo, and not like a full game. It’s also not something I’d recommend.

This feels like a bunch of assets were tossed down in Unreal, with the lightest bit of gameplay tossed in. There are no options, so you cannot change the volume or mess with any of the video settings. You’ll also need to set up the -nohmd option in your launch options if you’ve got a headset plugged in, otherwise SteamVR is going to open up for no useful reason.

What I write for this review is the experience I had with the game, everybody will experience things differently. This is my honest review if you don’t like it well tough. Also, no game is safe from a review whether it’s early access or full release. Now onto the review…

BAD!!! NO Pause!, NO Options!, NO Start Screen (Just dropped into game play)!, No Melee!, And NO instructions on controls! And plays VERY badly.

Ribby Rocket

Ribby Rocket

Ribby Rocket is a thrilling and story-rich action platformer about a frog with a will for revenge and a rocket launcher that shoots wherever it wants, but has unlimited ammo so it is what it is. The level design is inspired and memorable, I loved the landmarks such as the log. Each level had me on the edge of my seat and desperate to see what boss Aaron From had come up with next. I can tell he spent a lot of time testing and polishing this experience to be as tight and well executed as possible. In particular I loved the driving levels and the puzzles that involved using the pink jump pads. They were a breeze, but man were they fun.

Rogue Spirit

Rogue Spirit

The game mechanics are really fun, possessing bodies and powering up ghost boy (the prince) to make your stronger bodies more durable and hit harder is a satisfying process.

Personal/Technical issues:

I clip through the map sometimes, but that is easily remedied with the ability to warp to past shrines and shops etc. Rarely happens, but can be jarring when it does.

All the bodies are viable, but the power distinction can be noticed. (slashers are for example, able to hook enemies, turn around and pull them towards you, exposing their back for pretty much a free kill.)

I’ve enjoyed the game and finished it a few times. The gameplay at the start is quite different than once you get some skills. It’s actually hardest at the start and I think many people might be turned off by the game due to the high initial difficulty.

My biggest tip to anyone who buys this game is to persevere until you at least unlock the mines skill. The main problem early on is that you will get surrounded by enemies and it will be difficult to parry everyone. I recommend using a controller over keyboard too.
