Dungeon Lords Steam Edition
tl;dr - Dungeon Lords: Steam Edition is Dungeon Lords done Diablo 3 style. Fun enough to finish, but not what I wanted.
Based on my tastes, I should have gone with the Collector’s Edition of the game. If you’re more like me and like building the perfect character to face a challenge, or “roleplaying” a certain build even if it’s not the best solely for flavor and challenge - head to Amazon and buy a used copy of the Dungeon Lords CE. It’s not available digitally (believe me, I looked), and while I’ve never actually played it to confirm, I understand it’s much more “oldschool” in how it works. The CE doesn’t support widescreen resolutions, but then the Steam version doesn’t really support them either - any resolution over 1280x1024 makes the minimap “radar” style skill/spell worthless as it’s misrendered far off-target. A big bummer for a first-time player who doesn’t want to use a walkthrough.

Dungeon Lords is a classic. I wasted countless hours as a kid playing Dungeon Lords CE and I’d do it again in another lifetime. It was a hell of a buggy and incomplete mess, yes, but it was extremely fun. However, this Steam version isn’t the same guy, not quite. In fact, I feel like this game got updated to be more streamlined, to appeal to more people and get more income out of this game, and it’s visible in several aspects.
First off, they changed the character creation screen and I think it looks worse. Less detail and information, and looks a lot more streamlined. I wouldn’t mind this if the original gave more info on the creation screen itself and if they didn’t make another mistake, that being changing how the skills and stats work. In the original, there wasn’t much to go off of because it wasn’t a thorough game and you mostly figured everything out for yourself, so stuff like speed and damage wasn’t explained further than “I kill X enemy in Y amount of time so that means I do Z amount of damage”. However, the original had you level up stats and skills via spending XP points, in that you could have 500K XP points at some point in the game, and a single skill point could cost 50K to level up. You had full autonomy over your own growth. In this update, some skills go up with use(defense skills don’t) and you can spend skills to partially level up skills(e.g. 1 skill point = 50% to next level), and you also get individual points for stats. This completely changes how growth works in the game as you only really need to use your points on SOME skills and you can upgrade the others via usage. The individual points for stats is a good idea but you get 3 per level and it seems like their effects have been drastically reduced for balancing reasons.

ONLY RECOMMENDED AT HEAVY DISCOUNT
Now that we got that out of the way, the game was obviously made to cash in on the franchise, not sure how well the reboot movies did but this is pretty mediocre, art style is great and all, but the core game play mechanics are lacking. You’ve got 4 characters each with their own weapon and skill, apart from different skins. There’s some progression, but only skin wise, so you’re just getting more character/weapon skins as you play, everything else is available from the get-go. There are only 4 levels, which all comprise of the same loop, first you fight some bad guys while looking for 4 Jumanji pieces, then you proceed through the door into the trap pit, where you again collect 4 Jumanji pieces that let you through a door to finally defend a relic as it charges, now repeat this loop 2 more times and that’s the level, until you reach the final statue and save Jumanji by calling it’s name. The levels are slightly different in the first part of the loop, some are more linear, others more open ended, but their main difference is where they’re taking place at, what part of the world/ruins.

Monster Hunter: World
This game is to this date the most beautiful monster hunter game, with amazing and fun iterations of the usual weapons. It is so much fun playing with friends and random people, the community surrounding this game is great, helpful and a lot of fun. I would reccomend to play the base game first without the DLC, because some of the new features from Iceborne make aspects of the base game easier. Also don’t use the defender gear, it is akin to cheating yourself out of a great experience. Learning the game and building your own armour from slain monsters is more rewarding than picking the cheat armour when creating a new character.

Finally finished the first mission, so time to leave a review!
It’s good.
Real good.
The absolute mechanical intricacy of combat in the MH series has no peers, and World continues to uphold and expand on weighty, meaty walloping of monsters. Every weapon category has it’s quirks, secrets and an unbelievable amount of depth tied to their mechanics.
Not one weapon is ‘simple’; there is ALWAYS something a little bit extra to it (even spread 3 HBG or ZSD spam).
You can doot.
You can do aerial acrobatics with a hammer.

ArcRunner
ArcRunner is a beautiful Cyberpunk-styled action rogue-lite set in the far future on board a huge space station where the controlling AI has gone insane, and its up to you to traverse the Arc to find and destroy it.
You start each run as a newly-cloned human, and using credits earned in each level augment and replace your body using robotic and cybernetic enhancements until you’re more machine than human.
The game features frantic 3-rd person action, a randomised weapon and augment system with almost unlimited possible builds, huge bosses to fight and 2-player online co-op.
God Mode
I picked this up during the Steam auction house a while back. My journey started off with annoyances, which later became excitement, followed swiftly by loneliness. Grabbed a few friends and the feeling of loneliness was replaced by shenanigans and hilarious scenes. Long story short: God Mode is a game for you and your mates. Not for you and yourself.
Positive Impressions
-No complaints in regards to gameplay. Supports both keyboard/mouse and controller.
-Visually satisfying and aesthetically appeasing.

I have played quite a couple of hours of this alongside a few friends and have to admit, it is a lot better then I thought it would be.
Starting off on this game on a harder difficulty is a stupid idea, I will tell you that first of all. I would say the people who played, we were experienced players, however even if you have good aim and do not get hit often, you do not have the weapon power, the ammo, the health, or the powers to be able to finish a map. We were able to stay alive, until we ran out of ammo, due to the sheer numbers of enemies. Once our ammo was depleted, we were engulfed with mobs and literally were two shotted.

Hunted: The Demon’s Forge™
Usually it makes sense to start intros off by talking about an initial impression… Instead I’m going to make a suggestion: Pick E’lara, up the difficulty, grab a fastbow, don’t use cover, and only use the ADS and zoom for the very far away targets. The game becomes a pretty damn good strafe shooter. With that out of the way…
Hunted really does not leave a good initial impression. The gameplay, aesthetic, and presentation is an unfortunate result of that era of gaming that had releases proudly wearing a “I’m Gears of War but with blank” badge on their sleeve. Hunted’s blank is dark fantasy. The end result is a mixed bag of good ideas, clunky implementation and inconsistent polish, Yet somehow is still a really good time.

Normally I like to finish a game before I review it, but since this game is super cheap during the Steam WInter Sale, I wanted to go ahead and give a brief review while it’s still on sale.
Is Hunted a great game? No. It is fairly medoicre, however I do think it is worth the $1.24 that it is selling for right now.
It kind of feels like I am playing an over the shoulder 3rd person version of Diablo, just not as good as Diablo. The levels are quite detailed and interesting giving an open world feel, but is actually linear except for when stumbling onto secret areas. There aren’t a ton of secret areas (so far) but the secret areas are more than just a room too, and are actually a bit more interesting than the main game. The secret areas actually seem to give the world more life than the main game does. There are also some minor secret areas that require either the barbarian or the archer to open and if one doesn’t happen to be running that character it’s a little wonky figuring out how to open them. Thankfully, the minor secrets don’t hide anything important, just the occasional weapon rack or potions.

Inversion™
A suprisingly good game. Some critics have dismissed Inversion as a Gears of War rip-off, and while it does have some obvious similarities I found that I enjoyed Inversion far more!
The story starts like a typical invasion story, but it actually has some crazy twists and becomes pretty interesting. I found myself compelled to keep playing to find out who the mysterious bad guys were and where they came from, and the answer did not disappoint. The game has colourful environments rather than being all grey or brown, and there is an impressive amount of attention to detail in the level design. The two heroes are much more likeable than the guys in GOW; they are tough guys but they are not cartoonish macho thugs, they are horrified by what is going on around them. I especially liked the player’s partner Leo, who is very crass and vulgar but actually quite smart and the one who tries to figure out what is really going on. It also helps that in singleplayer your partner has excellent AI and is always a help rather than a hiderence.

Wanna run on walls and upside down, shooting aliens invaders in search for a missing doughter? Here is your chance.
This is an underestimated game for sure. Dont get why it got slammed in the reviews. One reason is that it might have been broken. In the main menu you can see it´s version 5 point something. Patched many times since release in other words. The coop worked for me without a hitch. Im in sweden and my partner lives in the US. Pretty much as far apart as 2 humans can be on this earth. =)
