I grabbed this game during the Steam Winter sale of 2020. For the sale price, i have to say it is a lot better quality than most of the games at the same price point from what i saw. While the game is built around local or remote play PVP versus mode, it also has a fun 16 level single player story mode. Each of the tanks you can play as all have their own unique feel and play style with pickups in game any tank can use. The game has a slight difficulty curve which is challenge while still being an engaging experience. What really stood out to me the most was the level design. Every level contains destructible environment elements to use to your advantage. All of the level have their own unique play style, adding variety to the gameplay. For the campaign all the maps available have their own unique challenges, which i would love to see added to a versus mode in the future. For example, the racing or more tower defense style defend modes with players switching sides. The game reminds me of a classic play style of Blastcorp and Blaster Master. I look really forward to seeing what future potential this game has. There is a lot this game could do to become an even greater and more engaging game. Mainly online net code that is not steam remote play dependent. I would love to see more stuff for the humans to do before getting their tank such as repairing the tank or acquiring some mission item. This could include stealth or gun play which would make the game have more depth along with building character story. If you want a fun casual couch co-op game to play with up to four people this is defiantly a potential buy for you. Even if you just plan to play the single player mode the game is very enjoyable.

I really liked the style and it’s very fun to play, specially if you can gather 3 more ppl, battle royales are chaotic in the way you want them to be.

A horribly LAZY port…

$30, for a terrible, terrible port of a game that isn’t even worth $15? How do they have the audacity to charge $30 for this, on PC, when it’s such a dreadful experience to play it on PC? I mean sure, charge $15 for it on consoles or Switch where you can actually play the thing with the intended controls, but to charge TWICE what the game is worth on PC, AND then make such a terrible port, is just taking the piss

Pros:

Cons: #1. No mouse support whatsoever. This is BY FAR the biggest problem.

Very fun and easy-to-play game for 2-players – we are six missions into the game and playing at Normal difficulty. I am not sure how it will scale with more players though.

We also tend to load the ammo as quickly as possible with little regard for the enemy-fired ammo, so as to overwhelm the enemy through sheer ammo numbers. Through this approach, each mission takes us about 10 minutes to complete and thus is manageable time-wise.

I initially said I couldn’t recommend this as they’ve made it so it only runs in 1920x1080 and went on a bit of a rant about it… ‘Seriously, there is nothing in this game that justifies anything close to 1920x1080, 800x600 would be decadent, this is just silly’…Etc etc. BUT! This is getting fixed! and resolution based running problems aside, it’s a truly awesome game.

It’s a close likeness to/an evolution of a game I played as a tiny kid in the 80’s called Battle Tanks on the Mattel Intellivision. I’ve been looking for something to scratch the itch that game gave me for about 29 years, if you’re casually hunting for the same thing, this scratches that itch and throws in a free metaphorical handjob for good measure.

Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.

My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review.

In This Episode i am reviewing the Steam Indie Top Down Arcade Shooter called Ballistic Tanks

In this game you get behind the controls of a Heavily Armed Tank and fight against a variety of armoured foes across a series of different game modes and levels. You can fight alone, or join in co-operatively or competatively with up to four players.

What a game!!!

Keep up the good work with more updates!!!

Bring back so much memories of Battle City on NES! Updated gameplay with upgradables, tougher enemy and good graphics.

Tougher enemy towards the later levels, and tougher map situation too will surely give you a challenge.

I tried Survival too and it’s harder than you think. Haven’t found any glitch and exploitables yet though :) Game is also stable to run.

Awesome game! I really enjoyed it a lot! So far I’ve beaten the campaign and I must say it’s quite a challenge! I find some of the bosses pretty tricky to beat but I like their design! The graphics are pretty decent! It’s like you guys took the original Battle City and ramp up the graphics, music, and gameplay up to 11! I also love the upgrades and those pick ups! There’s a lot of variety with each new level and the customization is really cool! I recommend this game to those who love those classic games like Battle City and Tank Force! I’m currently doing survival and see how far I can get! I’m also looking forward to the customizeable level editor! That would be so cool! It would be like the classic Battle City! This game took something I like and brought something new! So it’s like nostalgia but also a fresh new take on it!

Small little roguelike game with a suprising amount of depth.

Has a lot of stuff to find out, weapons to unlock, and just generally has a lot of replay value

And to top it off it has a fully-functional level editor for you to make your own randomly generated dungeons

A hidden gem of not only 2017, but for Shoot ‘em Up fans everywhere in my opinion!

4 out of 5

PROS: A well balanced, yet challenging shmup. Banging music. Great arcade-y and charming look. A small, yet diverse enough array of pick-ups to combine and use at your disposal that offer some imaginative use. Specials that can get you out of a sticky situation. Unlockable characters (tanks) with different playstyles. Boss Training Room (a mode I find necessary for Shmups), and difficulty mods to increase the challenge this game has to offer. Also, it has a rewarding level up system where you get permanent upgrades to your tank(s). Such as triple shot, a spread shot pattern, and depending on what tank you are using, specific artillery adhering to the characters play style.

The controls are so slow that it sometimes is physically impossible to dodge, even if you make the enemies’ bullets out between the confusing optics. You DO have a shield that prevents one hit, but it wont recharge when you lost one of your two lives, so its useless after that. The choice of weapons is also quite low.

It’s a genuinely fun and, dare I say, original game with lots of love and attention put into it. You play as a transforming, arguably overpowered super-mech that can lay waste to the battlefield on land and from the air. The battles are nicely simulated and have a good sense of scale (for a game that’s almost 2 decades old), and the over-the-top explosions and general mayhem is surprisingly good for stress relief.

The story campaign will be your main focus in the game. Here, individual missions are graded based on your performance, so there’s some form of replayability. The campaign is highlighted by several exhilarating and creative boss fights, and, though it’s nothing to write home about, there’s also something of a branching storyline.

This is a great game and I loved it when I was a kid. now that I’m an adult I was dying to replay this game as it held such good memories. The nostalgia was amazing and I love the game even more. the flying controls are some of the best I’ve seen in any game and the ground to air transition makes things so easy to keep up with the games fast pace later in the more difficult levels. I would love a remake with how big games get now, I can imagine how awesome the game would be with more levels, detail, more choices for weapons and online multiplayer. it would be so much fun. Alas, that’s unlikely to happen but I have hope.
