TANKNAROK

TANKNAROK

Its a pretty good multiplayer party game.

The game has fairly simple controls and easy to pick up, its very fast paced and chaotic, with lots of visual effects, environemntal hazards and a wide variety of mostly randomly spawned weapons and gadgets. One round mostly lasts less than a minute, while an entire game lasts around five minutes. It makes it perfect for when you have a little bit of time to kill and a few friends around.

The only real cons with this game are its lack of single player features and a bit of wonkiness with the online multiplayer. However, neither of these are big issues, since this game works best with the local multiplayer. So, if you have some friends who want to play this with you, id definitely recommend it.

Developer posted about this game on social media. Took a quick look at the discount and video and purchased immediately. Got to play with my son tonight and we had a blast. Reminds us of the quick map changes and random weapons we loved in stick fight from another developer. This game is well polished and very fun to play. Just need more people to buy and enjoy the game so I can have more of you to play online with! I highly recommend this game especially if you have a setup to allow couch co-op.

Tank Nova

This review is for early access first release, I will update it as the game evolves. I recommend this game to people who like to play early access games.

The idea of the game is to find alien life forms and go kill them with your tank. They’re easy enough to find, with bright red indicators and you shoot at them with your souped up tank and try to survive the onslaught. Navigation works fine and the tank is fun to drive. Where the big problem comes in is that all the shooting appears to be done automatically, my mouse presses don’t appear to have any effect. This made me think that it must be about driving away from them while the tank autofires, so I worked to steer clear of their pinchers and mandibles. What I figured out is that I don’t actually have to do anything at all and the tank will win the game. I just drive into the alien area and let them attack. The guns and missiles just kill the bug while the tank hovers around 50% damage.

The PC version of this game is quite frustrating. It’s a straight-forward, fun game - undeniably. But, it’s ported from an app and it suffers as such. It requires far higher computing resources than such a lightweight program should ever demand. Framerates should be through the roof on even the most modest equipment but that’s not the case. And, there are precious few settings options to help improve performance or control. Video options are limited to only resolution and low/medium/high graphics quality.

Now that it’s a standard 4$, it’s the best money you’ll spend in a while.

The game plays exactly like in the video. It’s fast, fluid, and is a hell of a lot of fun to play. I guess the simplicity is where it lies, and that everyone is on the same playing field at the start of a game. Being almost 30, and having friends between 20’s and late 30’s who all loved this game, I don’t know who wouldn’t like it.

The only problem is it’s a very unknown game at the moment, and it needs players to spread the word. I’d give it an 8/10 for what it offers. The gameplay is very solid, it just needs more content and it would be exponentially better.

Story & Characters 7/10

There is not much of a story, There is a story, But that won’t play out in the game, There is just a small piece of text on the store product page, But I focus on the content of the game itself. The game seems to be some kind of gameshow where you have to battle tanks It has a very typical sports commentator. The game has 12 playable characters which all have their charm, They are very unique and have a bit of a personality. They don’t talk, but they all have a name, picture and a unique tank, which already tells a lot.

Amazing game. Only wish it was online.

There’s so many unique features in this game that I haven’t seen in any other. Even just the menu is a lot of fun.

Tiny Tanks

I first played this game at Gamescom. After that i followed it for a while. The devs are very active and listen to their community. This game is perfect for chill evenings with friends. The controls are a bit tricky, but if you play it for a while you can get very good at it. I really like Tiny Tanks.

Rounds can end in 10 seconds or you can fight until the whole map is a mess.

Yeah, it’s “very” early access, yeah, there are bugs. If you play with people from across the world you will encounter warping.

Great concept, but not without its shortcomings.

The gameplay is a bit short, but that’s understandable for a party styled game. Perhaps an additional dedicated deathmatch mode would be beneficial here.

There is one primary complaint that hinders me from giving this a positive rating though. There’s some sort of game breaking bug that causes the game to randomly crash every few minutes. This renders the game completely unplayable. Seems to be directinput related. It mainly crashes whilst loading a level.
