The Witch & The 66 Mushrooms This is a cute short metroidvania with a lot of fairy tale influence in the story and bosses. The world is pretty small, but it’s dense with upgrades and collectibles, so it feels a bit larger than it otherwise would. You start with a double jump, and a healing ability (check your pause menu for more information). The metroidvania locks are various weapons which can destroy certain crystals and unlock passages, a few items that open up more of the map, a cat form that lets you go into narrow passages, and gems/orbs late game that open the way into the final area....
Super Army of Tentacles 3: The Search for Army of Tentacles 2 This game plays a lot like a choose your own adventure visual novel. It has a lot of various places to explore and a multitude of quests to play through besides the main quest line. The combat in the game is either wordplay based or trivia based (much of it being US history). I really enjoyed my playthrough of the game and will likely replay....

Maskmaker After thinking on it for a few weeks, I’m going to say Maskmaker is not really a succesful game, and a big step down after A Fisherman’s Tale. Essentially two games in one, Maskmaker divides your time between brief bouts of mask creation in a renaissance-like workshop, and then exploration of a series of empty puzzle landscapes in the tradition of games like Myst. It’s all very colourful, and you are accompanied by a ceaselessly chatty narrator....
