Asteroids… But Roguelite The progression/choice is super cool. It captures this feeling I like from games like Asteroids and Galaga, but adds a whole new dimension where score matters (because you get money for upgrades from it), and you’re given meaningful choices. There’s a couple ways I’ve played it; 1. just trying to get the perfect score streak/multiplier through precision, or 2. brute forcing it with epic upgrades. I am #2 on the leaderboard at the time of my writing, and I felt somewhat godlike with my bombs, shotgun lasers, sniper, shield, max health, etc…...

A Day The first 1-2 hours I thought the game was absolutely brilliant. Not paying attention to the description of the game on the store page that mentioned you’re going for a high score, I kept thinking I was unravelling a puzzle that had a bunch of pieces that needed to be put together to have a grand finale of a story. There is an absolute gem of an idea for a game here but I think having simply made it high score driven instead of more narrative focused is a huge missed opportunity....

Herder I had access to Beta release, it’s a fun unique take on farming, score attack, and tower-defence style games. Easy to pick up and play or sink a few hours into. Great fun! Anagrams Overview: This has become one of my new favorite games! I have been playing it almost every night to wind down before bed. The music is very relaxing and with dark mode it’s easy on the eyes for nighttime. If you like the aesthetic of Mini Metro and Hexcells I think you will enjoy this game.
