Timothy Leary’s Mind Mirror I absolutely recommend anyone with even a slight interest in psychotherapy to try this game out, not because it’ll blow your mind or because Leary was some kind of genius, but because it’s a solid example of what I believe to be a therapy-oriented game. Somewhere between interactive fiction and gestalt therapy (not mention the weird words and “archetypes”), this program is for all I have read basically a reproduction of Leary’s PhD thesis....

Miner Wars 2081 To start: I loved playing this game. To a point. The controls seemed awkward at first, but once I got the hang of them, it turned into sheer awesome. That is, for a while. I’ve played through every single level of this game. Twice, actually. First complaint: I have never received a single achievement. There are 12 achievements. They are all based on story progression. I have none of them....

COPPER ODYSSEY This game is one of the best I’ve seen from the RPG Maker crowd. It’s non-linear, and you can technically defeat the four bosses in any order, so if you enjoy exploring weird and colorful labyrinthine worlds, check this one out for sure. Beyond the main quest, there are TONS of secrets and optional content you can do that kept me wanting to go back. It’s very short and not that hard, so doing multiple runs with different builds looking for easter eggs is easy and fun....

BorderZone The “Don’t Escape Trilogy” is a collection of three short first-person point-and-click adventures with static screens (no camera movement, no scrolling). The games share a creepy atmosphere and a few gameplay mechanics, but are otherwise unrelated. In the first game, you play a werewolf trying to lock himself away before a full-moon night, so that he won’t kill anyone when he turns. In the second game, you’re trying to barricade a house and protect yourself from a zombie horde....

Fallen Hero: Rebirth Where to even begin? Well, the simplest way to go is with a list, but much of what I could say/commend is already covered in the product’s description. So I’ll be foregoing that in favor of a wordy paragraph[or two]. Still, what a story! Maybe it isn’t the “perfect book” for everyone, and there are probably a fair number of people who’ve never considered if they would enjoy playing a CYOA game that could make you feel like you’re fighting a losing battle even as you successfully accomplish what you set out to do without a hitch....
