Best City Builder Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

Ratropolis Call me a dues-paying member of ‘The Cult of the New’ when it comes to genre mash-ups like this. I can’t get enough of them. When Slay the Spire came out and combined roguelites and deck-builders I was hooked for 100+ hours and even back in my pre-COVID table-top gathering days, deckbuilders (Dominion/Thunderstone) were my favorite. The combination of control and RNG is so delicious and it’s exciting to see all of the ways developers are using this in either quality design or just experimenting with a gimmick....

Best Class-Based Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

Void Tyrant Yeah it’s a good game. I’ve spent probably the most hours out of anyone on this because I have like hyper autism or something (not really but I played this a lot). People complain about the lack of diversity. They are correct. However, this is a roguelike where each run influences the next, so it is very addictive. I am still not completely through everything. Worth every penny....

Best Clicker Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

Roll Roll is original and engaging. You roll dice to collect points, and use those points to upgrade your dice. The goal is to get the highest score possible in 2500 rolls. It is likely to be too ‘mathy’ for some - figuring out which upgrades will generate the most had me setting up spreadsheets. However, some players like that sort of thing and once I got my head around the upgrades (most of the upgrades, there are some I still don’t really understand), I found I could do pretty well playing from the gut - which is more fun for me....

Best Deckbuilding Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

The Last Hex –-UPDATE— Several months ago, I reviewed this game and gave a generally negative review mainly because of difficulty. This was before the developer made substantial and significant changes to the game. I am pleased to announce that the developer has made this game much more playable with multiple difficulty modes (which all games should have) and added a lot more content. There is an element of strategy with this game, and by playing it many times, you can pick up on the cards and the gear that you really want to keep that will give you maximum success....

Best Difficult Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

Vivid Knight This is a cute roguelite and auto-chess crossover. It’s very strategy-focused, and the difficulty makes it quite addictive, but some balance issues begin to detract from enjoyment once you’re deep in the game. The Good The core game play is roguelike, with your character exploring a maze and fighting monsters in turn-based auto-chess-esque combat. Each step consumes mana, a limited resource that refreshes on each floor, and your team begins taking damage when you run out of mana, forcing you to be efficient in your exploration....

Best Dungeon Crawler Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

Book of Demons This game is a gem. I’d like to highly recommend it to any player who enjoys a mix of action, planning, and collecting. What could make you love this game? First of all, the art style. It catches the whole idea of it being a “book”. Well designed pop-up book graphics, both in the world, the character sheet and inventory (your card deck), as well as in the menus....

Best Fighting Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

ROUNDS A brilliant game with friends. I must have played 200+ matches and no two have been the same. Great balancing system and a sprinkling of luck built-in to ensure matches are competitive while still giving the edge to the more skilled players. – Real player with 50.5 hrs in game Read More: Best Fighting Multiplayer Games. TLDR good game though modding makes it even better...

Best Futuristic Roguelike Deckbuilder Games on PC

For The Warp As others have pointed out, this game has a lot of great features and has some compelling gameplay. However, there are three things that kill it for me because they lead too far down the path of heavy RNG. The shuffler makes no sense. The fact that you don’t discard cards and that every time you draw a hand that you are pulling from your entire deck is against the foundation of what a deck builder game is supposed to be....
