Cards of Cthulhu Cards of Cthulhu is a casual little game, simple in design but with suprising depth. You pick cards for your deck from a choice of random two. Two cards at the beginning and more are added as you progress through the battles. Then you jump onto your motorcycle, grab your shotgun and ride across the wasteland to face off against Cthulhu himself - who stole your girlfriend, as villains in games have traditionally been fond to do....

Luck be a Landlord The negative comments on this game talk about how the balance is very unfavorable to the player and in order to win, you have to be very lucky. These complaints are valid. But they leave out an important piece of context: This game is being very actively worked on! The developer is constantly tweaking with the game balance. If you look over patch notes, you’ll see tons of changes to how individual items behave, new items being added, and entire new game systems being included....
Fights in Tight Spaces Always punch the shark. I’ve been playing this game since the Prologue, and now that a 1.0 release is on the brink of the horizon, I feel compelled to try and convey the experiences I’ve had playing it. The gameplay captivated me from day one - it was a great mix of positional and situational tactical battles with the additional layer of board-game-style deck management. There’s also some route-planning to consider, but it doesn’t weigh too heavily on the course of your runs - EXCEPT when tackling Daily Play for score maximization....
Slay the Spire One of the absolute defining games of its genre, Slay the Spire is great fun for virtually endless hours of play. It is a game where your decisions have a massive impact on performance (and while RNG does play a role, it typically won’t make or break a run unless you need an absolute miracle to succeed in a given fight. It is however, very light on lore and exposition....
Iris and the Giant This review is mostly based on 8 hours playing the demo, and one 2-hour run post-release. Will update sometime. TL;DR: A good game but not quite ready for release, and the lack of explanations might frustrate you and make it seem harder than it is. Does the fact that every card you play is destroyed from your deck worry you? It worried me, but it actually works because you get frequent chances to replenish your deck, and you’re not playing with several unique cards but rather a fairly tight set of base effects and improved versions of them....
Coin Crypt First off, this is my wife’s favorite game, even though she has never played it, entirely because of the opening theme music. I would recommend this game as a fun, though sometimes challenging rogue-like romp, bringing together the constant threat of permanent death with a light-hearted playfulness. The game attempts to present itself without tutorial or much explanation, evoking the enigmatic feeling of many games in the NES era, and does so mostly successfully....
