Hexagon World No. Just no. Do NOT pull the trigger on Hexagon World. It’s pretty feature-free. The only controls are to 1) add land; 2) add water; 3) make a set of hexes desert; 4) make a set of hexes snow. That’s it. Nothing else. If you play this for 5 minutes, you’ve done everything you’re ever going to do with it. Two menus (house and bomb) aren’t even implemented. No way to change the speed....

An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge Free for everyone at the time of review. Hardware: Win 10x64, 3570k mildly OC, GTX 1070, 16 GB, SSD. Super laggy on my system; took me a full 30 minutes to complete a game advertised as 5-10 minutes. I see the system specs state “Windows 7”; I’m guessing this is either a Win 10 issue (some games lag badly in 8 / 10 that run fine in 7) or possibly the 10xx series video card....

Island of the Lost Best casual game I’ve seen this year. It’s more involved than the demo may make it appear, with booby traps, hard to find objects, etc. There are vast areas to explore and you really get the sense of being “lost” at times. A hub is available which offers access to any level. Game controllers are supported but I wish you could redefine the keyboard/mouse controls. I also wish you could run a bit faster since the levels are so large....

NUTS Nuts is a fantastic little game with fantastic art and sound design. I played the demo when it was released and immediately fell in love with the look and feel of the game. Vilmonic Vilmonic is a sandbox game which focuses on the evolution of alien species called anims; they adapt to environments, go extinct, go through periods of population peaks… Anims change shape as they try to find a way to fulfil their role in a niche, when faced with competition from other anims. I have high hopes for this game, and I believe the developer will continue to grow it.
