Xenonauts More faithful than the modern XCOM games. You can build multiple bases to your own style and needs! Multiple drop ships, not a single one and an anthill for you to save the world with. Troops are expendable like they should be! Yay! Eagerly awaiting the sequel, and hopefully eventual Terror From the Deep spiritual successor. Only thing letting it down is lack of final polish - quicksave works, quickload doesn’t for some reason, and there’s a few minor glitches like the camera being stuck panning in a direction after an alien turn which requires a quick reload to fix, etc....

The Ballad Singer As much as I would like to recommend this game, I just can’t. I could say that it has beautiful graphics, is fully voiced, has an intricate story with 4 characters, who sometimes cross with each other, has nice soundtrack and several QoL features, like ability to double the speed of narrator’s voice to speed up the game. But all of this gets completely ruined by absolutely unfair death mechanic and BS choices....

Fatal Twelve This game kicked my heart in the d***. Every. Single. Time. With that said, let’s break it down. Visuals: There’s a good amount of visuals here, given the number of characters in the game. Some stunning, some sad, but all are good. Voice Acting: They have a good pool of talent, I thought until they started crying. I’m not entirely convinced that most of the VAs know how to cry, but that’s the only bad thing I have to say about them....

Neverending Nightmares The greatest and most effective aspect of horror is the tension and the atmosphere, the feeling of creeping unknown terror that lurks around each corner ahead, the mysterious buzzing sounds of some vile machine sprinkled with the curious moanings of what one could only guess are tortured souls. When it comes to horror, it’s hardly ever the execution of cheap scares or the appearance of the actual monster that are scary or make the experience, but the thick and heavy atmosphere and the suspense that it builds in you throughout the journey and this is exactly where Neverending Nightmares excels above and beyond everything I have come to expect from the horror genre....

Chuck’s Challenge 3D 2020 I had previously downvoted this game, citing many bugs and frustrations with the control scheme and the GUI. But after an incredible show of dedication from the developers in addressing and fixing (nearly) every one of my complaints in the “massive invisible” patch, I’m finally giving the game a thumbs-up. Very impressive, guys! Previously, I felt that this game might have perhaps gotten more attention and understanding as an “early access” title, but now it has earned its status as a finished product, one which can be built upon....

Spinnortality | cyberpunk management sim This game oozes potential. From its premise to its simplistic, yet surprisingly deep gameplay, Spinnortality is great. However, just like its name, there is something off about it the deeper you get, until you realize this game is nigh unbeatable…and not in that good, strategy game way; but instead, due to frustrating bugs, poorly thought out mechanics, and unbalanced agenda trees that make 2 out of the 4 victory possibilities impossible beyond easy mode (even then it’s a pain)....

Z. Year One Short version: Besides the initial (at times very frustrating) hour or so, I have found this game extremely fun to play. It’s a decent challenge, looks incredible and the developers are very responsive and diligent at tackling bugs. It is a gem of a game that has production values and mechanics on par with the elite digital card games out there, but which will cost you a fraction of the price to remain forever competitive....
