Best Character Action Game Grid-Based Movement Games on PC

Alien Cat 7 Alien Cat 7 is a 2D retro pixel game. It’s less of a platformer and more of an action puzzle game. Instead of traditional platformer mechanics, you jump from box to box after they land. The boxes drop exactly where you stand so you must keep moving. Some boxes destroy others, so you must move in such a way that the boxes stack up sufficiently to give you a path to the exit....

Best Character Customization Grid-Based Movement Games on PC

EndCycle VS Picked this up earlier, and found it to be quite fun. It’s similar to the old Megaman Battle Network series for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance, a series I used to love a lot. It’s fast paced with unique mechanics, as well as mixing in some old ones with a unique twist such as the CRUSH system(Think guard break from other fighter games). It’s a bit different from Battle Network 6 in terms of combat pacing, but you have a lot more weapons you can use to control the battlefield as well as your deck being more consistent since you have access to all 12 weapons in your deck all the time, with cooldowns for differing levels and weapons....

Best Chess Grid-Based Movement Games on PC

Chessformer Chessformer is a grid-based puzzle platformer with Chess pieces. Each of the pieces moves as expected, but they fall down after moving and can’t move again until they stop falling. Pieces also stack on top of each other which is key to solving most levels. The goal in each level is to capture the opposing king, who is lazy and never moves, so don’t worry about losing any pieces....

Best Cinematic Grid-Based Movement Games on PC

War Mines: WW2 Looks fantastic and is entertaining at the same price as a cup of coffee. However, soon it just became a frustrating exercise in random luck when first released. Shame as potential for a top notch game was all here. The Devs are responsive though and after some tweaks it is much more balanced and less of a lottery which it was when first released. Great idea and improving execution in the actual gameplay which initially the pretty graphics couldn’t disguise....

Best Cold War Grid-Based Movement Games on PC

Möbius Front ‘83 I think this is my first Steam review; I watched a talk from Zach and he said that he takes feedback seriously so I figured, why not? I love Zachtronics’ coding games, and I also love turn-based wargames, so I was pretty excited for this one. Unfortunately I think they’ve missed the mark this time. There’s a lot to like, but while it has the pleasing simplicity of games like Into the Breach (single-digit numbers for health, damage, range, and speed, grid map, etc....
