The Vanishing of Ethan Carter This review is for both The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Redux. I’ve played both games, they are the same, the redux version has better graphics and some small interface differences. At the end of this review i explain more about the differences*. More than 20 years ago, when i first played Myst i remember thinking, well, this game seems cool and all, specially the graphics, the story is very vague…and i don’t really see too many things to do…i hope i soon have some things to do....

Everyone seems to have played this game for only 15 minutes, and honestly, you can’t judge a game within 15 minutes. This game reviews are clearly manichaean ; you have two possibilities according to Steam reviews : you completly disregarded it because you played a few minutes and no minigun spawned on your car or you will find this game “somewhat OK”....

Coffee Noir - Business Detective Game The idea was good, the delivery is kind of disappointing. The music and artwork are the strongest points of the production. It looks very pleasant and it’s nice to have in the background. Gameplay is problematic. Tasks are easy (I played on normal), negotiations not always make sense, but it’s not bad. The worse were the clues, the whole detective system is quite bad. A lot of text and updates that are repetitive....

Fear Surrounds Very fun, but if you’re an English player, use your phone for Google Translate, because global servers are empty. Only Chinese players are on the game. Even with the language barrier, this is a fun game which is always suspenseful but fun. I wish there was a better English tutorial because I am clueless about the rules of the game. The graphics are outdated, but they work very well....

Riddlord: The Consequence Yes, it’s interesting, but also exasperating in many ways. Bunch of woo-woo puzzles based on mystic concepts like I-ching trigrams, but no logic to them whatsoever. Somehow the mysticism of the puzzles relates to the deeds of the four fictional-real serial murderers whose lives and careers this game tries to connect in a fictional plot. Premise possibly of interest, but what the actual puzzles and clunky execution of same have to do with the premise is hardly convincing....
