RimWorld Money never better spent. I’ve bought a lot of games over the years. Most I play and forget and the pile of those games serves as nothing but a lesson to buy carefully and to remember replay-ability. A colony building sim with plenty of flavor and fun that rarely gets boring. This is not one of those games. It has lasted me years of constant entertainment. A spiritual heir of Dwarf Fortress (before my time) in space where anything can happen and things scale up properly....

Desktop Farm this game is great to just have running and check back in on from time to time. the plants are adorable, the animals are adorable, and you can do some pretty entertaining things here. personally, i made a maze for a bunch of cows to meander around and get lost in. those that got out of the maze got the sweet reward of getting satiated. those that did not are now stuck in the fences, and it is a deserved fate for not escaping before they got fully grown....

Garbage: Hobo Prophecy Can’t recommend the game, based on the demo… You start out with RIDICULOUSLY little resources, and then you’re supposed to survive and scrounge together a living by traveling to different areas/zones to collect more resources. The problem is that my hobo died of cold before I could get warmth (since your hunger/warmth/hygiene/energy is constantly draining from the start of the game). This makes the game a constant juggle of your hobo(s)’s resources and your hobo camp is raided by other hobos every couple of minutes....

Vilset I played a lot the other game made by the same developer, CrossWorlds: Escape. For some reason I like that game more than other survival games, despite still being improvable for normal players. I am confident that this game will have a similar evolution or better. When you start the game, it shows the following message: **Welcome to the alpha version of the Vilset. This version of the game has many limitations, many game mechanics have not yet been implemented, and temporary models and animations are used....

Glittermitten Grove Okay, since this is not the “normal” game we are getting here, so i am gonna first talk about the “Main game”, the one we are sold with, the one with the game title - Grittermitten Grove. Especially for those who didn’t know the “dark secret” behind this game at the time they hit the buy button. This game reminds me a lot of the PC98 Pixy Garden (ピクシーガーデン 妖精伝説) back in 1995....

Academia : School Simulator I am a huge fan of Rimworld, I really enjoyed Prison Architect and plus, I’m a teacher. So I was pretty excited about this game. I’m giving it a hesitant thumbs up on the premise that it will deliver on its promises as it progresses through EA. It’s very bare bones at the moment but I’m hopeful that it will live up to its potential as its exactly the kind of game that I would love if it were much, much bigger....

Ratropolis Call me a dues-paying member of ‘The Cult of the New’ when it comes to genre mash-ups like this. I can’t get enough of them. When Slay the Spire came out and combined roguelites and deck-builders I was hooked for 100+ hours and even back in my pre-COVID table-top gathering days, deckbuilders (Dominion/Thunderstone) were my favorite. The combination of control and RNG is so delicious and it’s exciting to see all of the ways developers are using this in either quality design or just experimenting with a gimmick....
