Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Vegas 2
This is hands down my favorite FPS game of all time. I know I don’t have much time played on PC, but on my XBox, I can say with confidence I have well over 1,000 hours into the game. I play it with a friend very frequently.
When you have a good co-op partner, this game is really all you need. Terrorist Hunt is where all my time is spent. If I’m not making America safe again, I’m customizing my guy. It WAS a solid co-op shooter that I’d say HELD up even when they SHUT THE SERVERS DOWN. It’s only $10, but unless you’re willing to fiddle with LAN, go play Insurgency: Sandstorm.

Played this game back in the day tons of times. Good memories.
The good:
Graphics are a later Unreal Engine so they aren’t bad.
Highly customizable loadout that is made available to you as you progress through the levels with experience.
A very detailed upgrade model based on experience and types of shots made. You gain experience points based on the shot you make, be it close quarter, long-range, assault mode, etc. Each shot gains you XP points for a specific type of ladder and each ladder (CQB, assaulter, marksman) has its own rewards and perks.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Vegas
Here is a list of sad facts:
-
The game engine is dated badly. It was not that good even in the year of release, but just after that, we saw STALKER, Crysis, and a plethora of other FPS games of much better overall quality.
-
The story in the game is so badly written, I doubt that anyone will bother hearing it, even in the shortest version. But I’ll write it all nonetheless: you’re in charge of spec ops group of 3 operatives, you’re fulfilling some overseas interests of the US military (which is a big step down from previous Rainbow Six games), and then you have to deal with the large scale terrorist attack on Las Vegas and then Nevada dam, which will result in cliffhanger “to be continued” instead of normal ending. The only part of the story that was anyhow interesting, were the dialogues between terrorists until you assault them. Yeah, totally secondary and easily overlooked, even by accident, part of the plot script was the best part of it. All the main dialogues, characters, plot twists and such - are very subpar. That said, I wouldn’t suggest playing Rainbow Six Vegas even if you want to play Rainbow Six Vegas 2, which is supposed to pick up the story from the first Vegas game “on the flight”.

For some this is the best single player iteration of the Rainbow Series and it is largely regarded as a ‘classic’ FPS. If great means letting someone spit on your spec ops visor and playing the game through the blur and glare of that, then you’ve arrived at FPS heaven.
That is my biggest complaint with Vegas; the graphics. The whole thing is far too over saturated, often making things in the fairly close distance remarkably blurred. This is frustrating and constant when playing. The photo screen grabs look lovely, but blurred and you think ….ahhh it’s just a photo of some movement. No, it looks like that all the time, as though someone spat on your visor and you can’t wipe it off.

Door Kickers: Action Squad
The game is now out of Early Access, so i update this review a bit.
If you played the first Door Kickers, forget everything about it and don’t even think this is a sequel, it plays in the same “universe” but is completely different. Where the first game was basically a better version of Swat 2 with a top-down point of view, this game is a classic side-scroller that triest to be challenging and bring in tactics, i guess the closest comparison (that make me seem like a really old person for knowing it) is Rolling Thunder from Namco.

I have to say that I am a little dissapointed in this game at its current state.
I was looking for something that required a little bit more teamwork, tactics, and critical thinking. You basically (kick) doors down and gun down anything on the other side with little to no grace because the game doesnt provide much options on how to clear a room. The maps/enemies are not randomized so once you learn the level, you can easily run thru each room and clear without much resistance and pray that a stray shot from a shooter doesnt waste a hostage.

Men of War: Vietnam
After playing this game for a good amount of time and pursuing to beat it on Hard, I’ve noticed this game isn’t the failure that most people deem it to be. In order to play this game, there must be a basic understanding of proper guerilla warfare, and knowing this is VERY useful. This game is not for everyone however. This game is a test of skill for those who are familiar with the Men of War series and its mechanics.
A few thoughts after in-depth play (Post Scriptum Edition):
First of all, if you can earn every achievement without cheating, kudos to you. It is not an easy task to earn all of these achievements, because the final US Mission can be quite intimidating on Hard difficulty.
! Expect to be screaming, “OH MY GOD IT’S LIKE THE FALL OF SAIGON BUT WORSE!” at the end.

Hell yes best game next to men of war 1 assault squad and men of war 2 assault squad in my personal opinion because of the story and how it feels so good it feels right like you have special operations that are so hard and tactical and you have the iconic huge battles And I love it it is awesome and so difficult to beat such as in any men of war game you get shot in the chest you are probably going to die on easy difficulty and it makes it so satisfying after so much planning and hard work to finally solve a huge issue you have I have played 39 or so hours since this review I am posting and I am only on the first big battle mission it is an amazingly good game I recommend it to anyone who loves realism and loves the men of war franchise I haven’t played all the games just men of war assault squad 1 and 2 and call to arms and ostfront and faces of war There are a few more I want to buy as well I love this franchise it is just something I love you got so many advantages and disadvantages but there is always a way through I challenge myself by playing on easy But I make sure no one in my squad dies infantry or special forces I have never had a casualty on the US Army side except the first mission I didn’t plan no deaths till mission 2. my grandpa was in the MAC V SOG In Vietnam after being selected out of the USMC and he told me stories and things about the war when he was in as a soldier from 1956 to 1973 and about his time as a POW and the game captures the Image perfectly special operators pushing in and being such as how my dad was a Marine raider then green beret it is like that and it has uniforms and weapons exactly to the time period of 68 of course there are exceptions but they got the south Vietnam special forces and they got standard soldiers I haven’t seen standard Southern troops but I have seen NVA and Russian and Northern troops native to Vietnam they make it so real and so good and enjoyable to play I love it personally.

RUNNING WITH RIFLES
So, this is coming from the perspecive of a player on the main PvE Invasion servers. I’ve also done a fair bit of single player, plenty of time in mods, and a whole bunch of the DLC, but single player gets old fast without players on your side to mix things up, and mods/DLC are relatively underpopulated and should be played with a group of friends. PvP can be fun too, if different, but is usually empty outside of scheduled community events (get in the Discord group if that’s your jam).
Okay, imagine a game where everyone is cannon fodder. The enemy is cannon fodder, so they’re easy to kill en masse, but also you’re cannon fodder and a single slip-up will get you instantly killed, and that slip-up can be a missed shot, a wrong movement, or just failure to judge the ebb and flow of battle and getting overrun by a massive swarm of bots that you can do nothing against. You might be able to get some better equipment as your xp goes up, but at the end of the day the only thing that turns you from a simple cog in the machine fighting and dying next to twenty other players into a killing machine all your own that can capture bases single-handedly is personal experience and knowledge of the game.

THIS IS MY FIRST TRY ON DOING A FULL REVIEW
First of all, This game is so underrated.
HONESTLY, this game need more attention..
The amount of content you get from this game is way bigger than what you usually get from an AAA game. Especially with all the mods that is available for you. and let me tell you. Most of the mods feel like an expansion and a diferrent game.
THE GAME
The basic :
In this game, you play as a soldier. among other soldier.
there is no such thing as hero / special character here, everybody is the same. no special power. the only thing that separate you from the other is rank, equipment, skills.

Bloodgeon
Fun game! Love supporting Indies its crazy how big of a game it is for the amount of people who worked on it, great mix of L4D and Moba’s !

If you like top-down games and/or games like Left 4 Dead, this is a must play: Instant 3 vs 3 action, lots of power ups, weapons and skills, tactical gameplay and hack’n’slash. As a warrior it feels great to smash hordes of enemies, as a monster its a great feeling to pin down a helpless warrior or to smash him into a trap!
Furthermore, the developers are actively improving the game. So grab Bloodgeon with a couple of friends and enjoy!

Commandos 2: Men of Courage
As most of the people around the globe would say “the best tactical strategy game of all times”. This game is surely the best around. I’ve played Comandos: Men of Courage countless of times and everytime its like first time. Love the intro’s in beginning of each mission, the story telling takes you deeper in history…
This game by far is the first in list of my favorite games! Pyro studio surely did made a masterpiece, i only wish that more people have played this and i would like to try it online as i never had an opportunity to play against someone.

What other game can you command a squad of elite commandos, be in an 3D simulated isometric world, and explore the world, plus for it to actually be good? Well then, Commandos 2 is the answer you would be looking for.
This game is able to capture that epic feel of being an elite commando, not one, not two, but eight. In a variety of missions all around the world, taking on the Japanese Empire in Asia and the Nazi Forces in Europe. This wide variety of missions are all housed on massive maps, with plenty of ways to tactically go through. As well, each map has bonus content hidden in each one, which unlocks even more maps for the astute players. The level variety, and enemy variety are amazing, with tactics unlimited, as well the music is sublime, unique to each level, and keeps the tone and gravity of the high stakes game of warfightering.

Desperados 2: Cooper’s Revenge
Before I write this, it is worth knowing that this game was supposed to be of much higher quality. Atari’s inability to pay Spellbound (the developers) for 6 months meant staff had to be put off and this (basically) unfinished game was the result of that. This review nevertheless is about the steam product.
Edit: Another warning is that there are some bugs with certain graphics cards. Apparently there existed (functional) view cones and although this is a minor point, it may make the game a bit more digestible.

This game is actually REALLY GOOD! It’s a shame sh*### bags that have played for less than 1 freakin hour have to throw in their 2 cents. If you like Western themed movies or games you will ACTUALLY LOVE this. A little buggy, but who cares, for the experience its worth it. This style game is not for everyone, IF YOU MUST PLAY a CALL OF DUTY or FORTNITE this game is not for you. Patience, strategy and tactics. But I love the 3D/third person view for game play and really putting you in the western world. Only an isometric game cannot provide this. I think Spellbound improved on the first game but the hard core fans all got together and CONSPIRED against the Developer Spellbound the way some of you all conspire to betray your buddy by cheating with his girlfriend while he is laid up in intensive care ward after being hit by a car going 55 in a school zone while he was walking an old woman half way through a cross walk. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU “DESPERADO” fans, who are the reason Spellbound is no longer in business. THIS GAME ROCKS! If you like strategy and tactics mixed with 3rd person perspective this is a KEEPER!!! Play as a build up to Desperados 3, and pay the dam $59.99 price tag to help support Mimimi for having the vision to recessitate and bring this “Best Friend Franchise” back to life. And BTW… get off your cell phones and stop speeding through the school zone - losers! - TKP

Filthy Lucre
Stealth….
Either you love it or hate it.
But if you love it,you will love this game!
i’ve seen bad reviews about Filthy Lucre but i don’t agree even remotely.
No you can NOT save during missions, but this is a hardcore game!
There is no mercy for the weak and many missions fail after fatal mistakes.
Good gear takes effort and upgrades do too…
But all of the above is why i love this game!
Its hard and nasty.. mean and mercyless.
And it’s not a game to play for a few minutes.
On a scale 1 to 10 it’s a genuine 8,5

TOP DOWN SPLINTER CELL
Its a heist game with stealth and action. You don’t hide in shadows or climb really though, but its a pure stealth game with some gunplay.
+Graphics
+Gadgets/Weapon upgrades
+Map design
+Lots of side missions.
+Stealth / AI (heat meter so the focus is stealth or covert killing)
+15 maps (seems long due to size/no saves so extends game)
+/-Big Maps / But No Saves
+/- Diffcult (due to no saves and big maps)
-Maybe a limited number of saves such as 1 to 3 saves per level like in earlier Hitmen games would be nice, so u don’t have to repeat so much since the big maps can take 1 hr if careful and complete all objectives, but a death can happen with a basic mistake or in seconds.

Pros:

Dedicated developers, even if progress on the game is slow. (For goodness' sake, it’s a small indie studio!) Plus great community managers!* Generally mature, close-knit, and wonderful community.
(I must warn you, a few black sheeps exist.)* Intentionally challenging game mechanics: (devs are aiming for realism)

I can’t believe I’m going out of my way to not recommend this game instead of just leaving, but I feel like it’s important for players to know.
Don’t board this sinking ship.
It’s been almost nothing but groundwork, tweaks, fixes and QOL additions for nearly two years, excluding ‘Hell Week’ which is a survival game mode which spiced up core gameplay a little bit but left the rest of the game collecting dust. If you discount that, there’s been few reasons for players to re-visit the game for more than a mission/match or two before leaving again, as content additions are so incredibly tiny. Yeah, sure, implementing systems like stamina and falling damage are important for a game, but after two long years of additions like this, there’s still a bland and simple core gameplay across all game modes. No new weapons, enemies or gear that changes gameplay itself. Just more slow cautious gameplay with two and a half weapons.
