Archer boy

Archer boy

Archer Boy is a bare basic asset flip tier minimalist Unity based first person archery shooter game where you shoot arrows from a stationary position as enemy archers rush your position. There’s no real goal to the game apart from collecting coins which erupt from the corpses of your enemies.

The best thing I can say about this is that I don’t think it’s actually an asset flip, it really does seem like they tried to make a video game here, they just didn’t know how. The quality is deplorably low, with low poly assets, no actual game loop of any kind, and really clunky arrow physics. Would adding a crosshair have killed them?

I Borrow

I Borrow

You borrow stuff from your surroundings. Nothing more.

In the game you find yourself in situations where you need stuff but the only way to get it is borrowing it unnoticed. People around you are very tolerant, but their tolerance runs out quickly if you are caught borrowing their stuff!

Gameplay mechanics:

Pick up required objects and take them home without being noticed. If you are noticed you will lose trust and the owner will take back his stuff. Once you run out of trust points, you have failed the level. When you bring objects home, you can complete given objectives, for example collecting 3 chairs or building a house out of 4 walls.

Features:

Picking up objects

You can pick items like, a chair, lamp, wall, etc.

Building houses

Assemble your dream house with the walls you borrowed

People protect their stuff

They don’t really want you borrowing their property

Blocking people with objects

When they get annoying

More stuff to do

  • Hiding from people with objects that you took

  • Collecting items in the goal area

  • Local multiplayer

Windmill Kings

Windmill Kings

It’s great concept unfortunatly there are a couple flaws that make this game a no for me. The positive are: great graphics, nice music, funny story. Requirements are low and the game runs well 1v1 on the same keyboard and single player on the touchscreen also works (tested on surface pro)

Now the bad: First is the duration. Campaign on normal takes less than an hour. I had a lot of fun working my way up in the campaign but after that you can only play replay the same thing or the Dark world which is brutally hard compare to the normal difficulty. There no replayability unless you do multiplayer. Playing against the computer becomes easy as soon as you realize that the AI is in fact the same pattern of enemy coming your way. I would say you should wait for a sale 1/2 price it will give you a couple hours of gameplay perfect for a short flight.

Another great game by Bigosaur - with their typical art style and sound style. Great cartoon-like graphics with challenging gameplay. This is a 2D strategy game with kings, medieval knights, giants, archers, healers etc. Story mode is cool, as is the skirmish mode that has different scales of battle. PvP is also available. Definitely recommended!

Bounce Ball

Bounce Ball

Its ok I guess for the price but once you learn the basics, very predictable.

Played in small chunks its a good time waster.

If you think logically then levels are easy to beat, I did find it fun however to try to beat levels with the bare minimum placing of deflectors. some levels that look difficult and offer several credits can be beaten with just 1 judicious placement and much patience watching it bounce around and around the screen.

Quite satisfying to accomplish, so a thumbs up.

After playing this game for a bit, I found it very fun.

It is one of the only puzzel games I have played and I got stuck right in. Completing each level.

If you like physics based games like this then I highly recommed it to you.

Manual Intervention VR

Manual Intervention VR

While it has to be said that ‘Manual Intervention VR’ is little more than a modern-day asteroid clone I still found myself enjoying it. There is a certain playability about it even if those interactions are basic at best. The controls are pretty basic as well, one controller to aim ad fire the missiles and the other to spin/rotate the planet. I have to say rotating it too fast does lead to a touch of nausea, but nothing too bad. Sure, the graphics are adequate at best, but what do you want for just £2.09? For that price, you get a pretty good arcade-style game that retro fans will love and there is even a touch of the anime graphical novel thrown in for good measure. While not exactly original it’s still pretty great fun for a cheap price.

Papertris

Papertris

Papertris is an interesting and fun arcade puzzle game in which colored cubes dissolve in all 6 possible directions and you decide where to place your cubes.

In addition, there are also power cubes and numerous possible combinations in a classic but modern and lovingly hand-painted game.

  • The Challenge mode is tricky with various tasks where the player has to solve suitable tasks in order to get to the next level, which are more difficult at each level

  • In the Endless mode, which gets faster and more difficult from level to level, you can score points as long as you can

  • The 2 player VS mode demands tactical skill in which players can use numerous combos to send each other blocking cubes to block the opponent’s options

  • Combinations of the cubes in all 6 directions

  • Atmospheric music

  • Icon option for color blind people

  • Dark mode

  • Full Controller support

The game itself was designed with a lot of fun and inventiveness with my kids (4y & 2y) and the majority of the game was hand-painted by them, which thus has a beautiful and playful charm.

We really had a lot of fun creating and collecting ideas for the game and hope to inspire you as much as we do.

Quest for Runia

Quest for Runia

Super relaxing game for a bit of cooling down after work.

The Controls are far better then i expected them to be.

It happens far less then i thought it would, that i aim at a point on the far end of the ‘gaming table’ and miss the spot i aimed for.

The graphics are a bit bright.. too colorful for my taste, but it doesnt hinder the experience at all. If you like them - even better.

The music adds to the relaxing experience.

The tutorial makes it look like an easy game, but you will soon see, that you have to watch carefully and think a bit before starting a level.

Very nice relaxing game to pause your brain from lockdown, politics, household and so on… I love puzzles and played a lot of Bejeweled on the phone. This is my new Bejeweled in VR - sit down, chill and forget the time. At the beginning it seems easy, but it gets challenging quickly. Above all, I’m someone who always wants three stars, even in other bubbleshooters, and here I haven’t reached them all yet…

I think it might appeal to young and old and VR newcomers, if they love puzzles.
