Rezrog
Theoretically, this is a good, simple game. In practice, it’s agony and frustration.
The graphics are nice, the gameplay simple but fun, etc. I wanted to like it - in fact, I do like the core game - but it’s surrounded by so many problems that it’s impossible to enjoy.
There are little things: no documentation, incredibly repetitive music. Some cludginess with the interface that makes inventory management awkward. (Want to see which character needs an item more? Go to one screen to trade the item, then back out of that, select a different screen to compare the stats/equip, back out and repeat 6 more times). But those are tolerable. The gameplay itself is simple and may bore some people, but it was exactly what I was in the mood for.

First off, as of this writing/v1.05: The bugs, personally, have not been bad. In 15 hours of gameplay, I’ve had to abandon just three dungeons due to blocked doors. Good on the devs for working so hard to fix the issues. One does wonder if they beta tested, though.
This is gonna meander, because gin.
Pros:
Having a selectable roster of seven characters is an entertaining spin on the dungeon-crawler.
Fun design aesthetic.
Cons:
Despite how the devs advertise it, Rezrog a rogue-LITE at best. Random dungeons and permadeath do not a roguelike make. Roguelikes are to RPGs as dark fantasy is to fantasy. The roguelike world hates you and wants you not just to die, but suffer and rage as you do. Every unidentified item you pick up should have the potential to violate you in ways that would make a hentai tentacle monster blush. In Rezrog, every item you find is unidentified until you right-click on it; there are no curses or detrimental effects, it’s all just vendor trash.

Minos Strategos
to give a little back story to new comers, BrainGoodGames has no pushed out their 4th strategie game Minos Strategos, a sort of board game turn based strategie game. While all there games have the same sort of feel as asthetic at the base, they all of very distinct game styles and rules. To give a little feedback on the type of developers BrainGoodGames are, its not uncommon to a player to find a bug and for it to get patched and fixed an hour later. Iv seen people suggest an idea they think would really work in one of their games, just to see it implemented the next day! Iv seen them push a new game out, just to go back months later and push another content patch for all their older games as well, continuing to make sure all their games get tons of love. Its almost as if buying one of the BGGames also comes with a 24/7 Dev hotline ! HAH

Now that I’ve played quite a few games of Minos Strategos and moved up a few ranks I feel confident in saying this game is another great addition to the BrainGoodGames collection of strategy games.
The tutorial is a bit brief and left me with some questions. Watching a short video that is linked to on the main page of the game soon cleared up the questions I had. There is a practise mode so if you aren’t sure how something works and you want to experiment, you can do so without affecting your rank.

Blastboard
I’m playing this now with 3 friends and I have to say…I’m very surprised! This is actually a real fun game to play in a group and a great time killer when solo. I run 3 screens and it works fine. More features/DLC would be cool or even Workshop. For the price you can’t lose IMHO.

KNIGHTS
Gameplay:
How to play the game:
Very simple, anyone who’s ever liked playing chess will definitely learn how this game is played instantly. The game is about moving red and blue knights over boards of chess to red/blue highlighted tiles, as in a game of chess, knights can only move in L-shaped direction (2 tiles straight and then 1 tile to side), the knights can jump over whatever it’s standing in their way, as long as the tile they’re meant to go to is empty. To clear a level, every red knight has to stand in a red tile, as well as every blue knight in blue tile (the easiest levels only contain knights of 1 color).

even though I’m not into chess, I had a good time playing knights. there’s not much to it, you can only move the pieces like you would if you were playing chess, but you only have different colored knights here that you have to move around until they end up where they should be, blue ones on a square with a blue silhouette, red ones on a red. yellow figures are just there to cause you pain and block your movement but they can also be moved around.

SkyBoats
Pros:
-
nice interface
-
games done in no more than 30 mins and they’re saved if you can’t finish them
-
2 versions of the game (after 17 hours I’m yet to play the other though will do when I finish this one!)
-
active dev interested in engaging with the community
Cons:
-
you learn the rules as you go and some are not that clear. Fortunately, Inventarius has done a brilliant community guide which helps you understand how to get near his level and therefore play more and enjoy it more
-
once you reach your max level, replayability is limited - you don’t want to lower your level by failing too often. I have more hours in Axes & Acres (48) than I will have in this (probably max out around 25-30) so buy in a sale.

As always with BrainGoodGames, this game is lots of fun and very challenging. It takes a while to grasp the rules but once you understand them you will appreciate the complex strategies you can use.
The tutorial will get you started but I recommend turning on practise mode to really learn the rules and not lose ranks. The support from BrainGoodGames is great as always.

3D Jigsaw Puzzle Simulator
I liked the 3d feel to this game. It is really a unique game the way pieces can be picked up, overlapping, and even upside down. Sometime pieces will fall on the floor instead of the table and you will need to navigate to pick them up. Strangely enough I enjoy the challenges of placing pieces. However, the update in the spring kind of broke the enjoyment because the graphics look like you are putting together a quilt instead of a puzzle. The borders are too distracting so it is difficult to know which piece goes where. If development can provide the option so the graphics clearly transition to the next piece as before I would make this my favorite puzzle game. Right now it is borderline to recommend the game because of the quilt appearance, but do like the developers ingenuity.

When I was a child I liked to solve puzzles, the game helped me to recall memories. Great implementation! Can’t remember such thing made in 3d setup.

Dungeoneers
Very very fun. Counting the web version, I’ve put hundreds if not thousands of hours in to this game. Strategy is very important. Like backgammon, it’s still skill even with RNG. My review is mostly using the version from about a week ago. I’ll update it when I’ve spent some more time with the new version.
Pros:
Strategy is easy to learn but hard to master
Art is pretty cool
Very few bugs
It manages good variety without excessive complexity
I can’t say exactly what it is, but I really like the gameplay

A great casual hex based strategic beat em up rpg, like a classic D and D one shot campaign. Weigh the options of attacking vs. sneaking and grabbing swords, bows and shields vs. counting your potions and scrolls for the dragons. No story lines to remember, just dragons to beat up, and mummies, and trolls, and those pesky firebugs.
Run in the daily hunt against all other players, how many skeleton elbows can you collect in one run? 100? Inconceivable!
A lot of strategy in each room, should I sneak by the orcs and just grab the loot, hoping to not be spotted? Can I take out the casters and snipers before I get clobbered? Can I handle the rain of fireballs? (p.s. if you get stuck in a rain of fireballs, you are doing it wrong).

Evil Cult
Evil Cult gives the player control over a Cult which tries to take over key figures in society to spread its influence and complete the Final Ritual, before any of the competing cults.
Generators generate resources, making them an obvious prime target for expansion, yet the easier (cheaper) to influence Adepts increase the probability of gathering Virgins, which serve as resource wildcards and are of course necessary for rituals as a sacrifice.
Sects within the cult allow for some optional micro-management. However, the player’s attention is mainly directed at the expansion on the map, resource balance, and awareness of the Investigator.

This game represents a very niche and rare computer game genre: the cult simulator. There are only two games I know of in this genre: 1. Evil Cult, and 2. Cults and Daggers, which is also available on Steam. This game has great potential, and is being improved with expansion sets. I highly recommend this game, which also has an excellent soundtrack.
