Chess Sudoku
Chess Sudoku is a simple and calm, but somewhat challenging puzzle game.
As you will expect from the name, it is based on the well-known games Chess and Sudoku. The main goal is to solve a Sudoku, but the only way to fill in the numbers is by moving a chess piece to the correct field. Every chess piece has a number and a color attached to it, and if it is moved to a spot with the correct matching number, the field gets filled with that number. By also matching the correct colors you get a bonus.

A half-baked implementation of a half-baked physical game. Basically it’s quarter-baked.

Mind Games
Mind Games is a puzzle game that states that it will exercise your mind, but to the point where you want to pull your hair out.
Graphics:
The graphics remind me of the nostalgia 90s pc games. Some are crisp and some are cheap. Not much detail going on.
Music:
This is a mixed subject, as some people have said that they ripped music from other pc games. Reviewing it standalone, it is basically Midi-style music. The problem is, when you minimize and maximize the game, the music changes and/or repeats itself, which is annoying.

Chess of Blades
I’ve loved Argent Games since requiescence, so I was estatic when Chess of Blades finally came out. Now, I’ve played every route, seen every ending, and got all the achievements pretty quickly. Most of my hours are from when my roommate also played the game.
Like with Requiescnece, Chess of Blades is completely voice acted. For better or worse. I say for worse simply because the voice acting gets a little funny in the R-rated scenes, which is to be expected if you think about it. The rest of the voice acting is pretty great and the voices fit each character extremely well.

You are searching for a good Boys Love visual novel? Definitely try this one out!
“Chess of Blades” is one of my favorites in this genre.
Positive:
-
the art is extremely beautiful and the unlockable pictures are stunning as well
-
the backgrounds look good too
-
every character has a lot of different faces for all possible situations
-
the whole game has English voice acting (even the side characters)
-
the music is nice and fits for every situation
-
the choices that you have to make while playing aren’t too obious

ChessVR
Very nice VR Chess game. In the newest update, they even added Difficulty levels.
+Looks good
+Has 10 challenges
+Different difficulties
+You can fly around on the field and view the board from different angles
-Speed while flying very slow
-Sometimes the Bot does not make the move in challenges
-only 10 challenges
-it doesn’t tell you what to do in the challenges (you allways need to achieve checkmate in 2 moves)
But still very fun and i can recommend it to any chess player that owns a VR Headset

I am recomending this game for those who love battle chess games. It’s an excellent example of what can be done with VR. Unfortunately, I can’t play it because I preprefer the standard chess pieces. I get too easily confused which piece is which. I wish it had the standard chess pieces and then lets you replay your game with the cool character they created.
This VR game is about as simple as it gets. There are almost no features to talk about, but its worth checking out and hope the developers beef it up a bit more.

Terra Mystica
First of all:
I own the boardgame version of this and also have the mobile app.
Sadly I can not recommend Terra Mystica on Steam right now for several reasons:
1. It is just a bad mobile app port. Let me explain:
Basically they did not adjust the controls and UI at all. It still feels and handles like an app. It is clunky and counterintuitive. Some buttons are just huuuge. Like my fist huge. Indicators on what to do are missing. as well as tooltips. No effort was put into the UI for the port - that is clear.

This is a review of the PC implementation of Terra Mystica (board game)
Software SCORE: 1/10
Original Board Game SCORE: 9/10
I’m writing this review 3 years after playing the game seriously, but apart from the “bugs” (which I didn’t check), everything else still applies to the current version of July of 2020.
Note: If you want to see who I am (professionally) read the end note please.
This game was the worst development of a game that I ever played. It has an awful User Interface (UI)!
Yes: the worst I have ever experienced on a PC. So bad I couldn’t believe it. There were bugs everywhere, even in the most basic of things, like screen resolution. I spent so many hours trying to figure out what was happening. I thought it was my PC or me doing something wrong, because I couldn’t believe someone would release a game with such bugs. But this company did…

TREBUCHET
Bought this game on android while ago after seeing the raving reviews, and signed up to Steam just so I could have it on my laptop and play with friends! Its so simple and easy to learn, yet so addictive! The graphics look amazing in full screen on a laptop and desktop and the sounds are really lifelike and immersive! So cool to see something new and different for a change, and with the addition of two player mode and all the enjoyment we’ve had its well worth the new price tag !! Thanks for making such an amazing new game! 5*

A really nice board game that is simple enough that anyone can get into it, but also complex enough that one have to put quite a lot of thinking into it in order win the game. Online Multiplayer is not supported yet as far as I know so its limited to LAN only.
The graphic and game-play is very good. No bugs or glitches.
I would recommend it but not worth the full price. Get it only on sale. (I got the game with 75% off sale)
8/10

Dark Chess
Disclaimer: The Game is currently in the Alpha Stage of development and many features are expected to be added before official release.
THE GAME
Dark Chess is a game of chess full of magic, traps and enemy army concealed by the Fog of War. Reworked and enhanced game rules will bring immense joy to die-hard chess-lovers and casual players alike. Fight your way to the top of the ladder among other players, compete with your friends or challenge the artificial intelligence. Take the crown and become the Champion.
IT’S FAST
As a Dark Chess warrior you will have to act fast, take chances and make split second decisions.
With limited time per move, each game is a dynamic, ‘bite size’ battle and your wins bring a lot of excitement.
IT’S DARK
‘The Fog of War’ conceals opposing armies. Enemy units become visible in proximity of one square around friendly units or within a striking move. Only the first unit under direct threat is shown. This adds a great amount of unpredictability and a scouting aspect to the game. Makes it exceptionally tactical.
IT’S SOCIAL
Invite your Friends to play with you. Share your glorious Victories and noble Defeats. Climb to the top together.
IT’S DIVERSE
Dark Chess features various game modes such as Player vs Player, Player vs Artificial Intelligence, Tournaments along with Rankings, Ratings and Scoreboards.
Challenges, Events and Character Customization will keep you engaged and satisfied with your achievements.
Funny Card
Funny Card is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, HotFoodGames. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio marketplace, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else’s work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception (just look at their other games on Steam). It’s nothing but a cash grab.
This time they’ve ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro pixel childrens “Memory” card matching game, a template that has been used dozens of times already by other asset flippers. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games.

Gigachess
Solid game. I wish that the menu music was an option out of the 3 during-game music options available, it’s the best of them all. Only con is the music, which can be turned off.
Fair warning to those excited to see a steam game related to chess: It’s more of a puzzle game than a chess game. Even still, fun game that can be picked up and played for 5 or 50 minutes at a time.

2nd review as of May 7th, 2017: More recommended
Props to Drixxel, the developer. I chose to come back and play this game a bit today, and there have been some significant amount of UI-friendly and (positive) gameplay changes. The game is more polished. Music/Audio options, more advanced rules (at least within endless mode). I’m surprised by how few people there are considering the fair amount of content and rewarded quality that was put into the game’s update.

Introduction
Gigachess was developed and published by Gigatross Games. The game itself is interesting because it takes the rules of chess and makes it into a game of it’s own, which it being both challenging and fun to play.
Gameplay
This game is rather clever, with the way that it takes the game of chess and twists it in a way that makes it both fun yet challenging to play. The basics of the game are that your chess pieces can be either a Bishop, Rook or a knight. Your enemies are a number of pawns which you must take out before they reach the end of the chess board and take a life from you. That’s basically the whole game.
