It’s a solid product. Could definitely use a variety update, but it works perfectly as intended and is very visually appealing

For what it is, I would recommend this item. Everything is basic, but if you wanna run a game on a budget this is probably your better option. Only issues so far is that items are all tied to mouse click. So if you want to select something you are gonna move it as well. Only other thing is if you accidently make more maps, you can’t delete them. At least from what I have tried.

Table Top Turrets

Table Top Turrets

I downloaded ‘Table Top Turrets’ out of curiosity as, although I play a lot of tower defence games, most of them are quite boring and are very similar to each other. It was refreshing, therefore, to see such an eye-catching and colourful game appear on Steam. I thought I’d take a chance with it and I am delighted that I did.

The game is very fun to play. There are about 10 different levels, each with 3 different difficulties, all of which completely change the dynamic of the game. In essence, therefore, there are about 30 levels. The levels all have interesting track designs and the possibilities of placing down turrets are almost endless. Although the game is not what I would describe as a ‘sandbox’ mode, once you get some experience, it begins to feel this way. With a great selection of turrets to choose from, each one having a different effect on the enemies, it really does feel like you have unlimited ways of playing the level. Not only is this just fun from the get-go but it means that the game does not get boring.

It’s almost a good game!

When you find-out how to turn off the terrible music, play on ‘Hard’ level, and

! refrain from using any of the ‘Beamers’ , this game is….almost not boring!

Oh! And you need to be a HUGE fan of TD games too!

But outside of that: Go for it! You’ll have a formidable 20 minutes of enjoyment!! ;)

This game was incredibly brutal until I discovered the Council building and the Knowledge resource, and then it became an incredibly fair and deep city-building/roguelike/4x game.

The biggest problem with the game is there isn’t a good reference for how all the mechanics work. I think it will be better once an online wiki is available.

My tips for a winning initial game:

Opening:

1. Get 40 wood and build a sawmill. Assign one of your workers to be a gatherer and gather wood. Later, when you don’t need wood, switch this worker to be a food gatherer and build a fruit hut for 80 (you can do this earlier if you get a 4th worker). You should have enough rations for this, and the carpenter/fruit gatherer jobs share the first 3 levels.

I too believe that this is a nice game if you enjoy roguelike games.

When I first saw the list of buildable buildings I was worried the game wouldnt have much depth, as there are exactly 15 buildings which can be built.

So .. I was worried I will just figure out how things work and lose interest in the game after a few days, because I found some safe winning strategy.

Luckily it was different!

The overall difficulty is quite high. After the tutorial campaign you get to play 4 tribes with increasing difficulty (you have to start with the lowest difficulty tribe). However, even that tribe took me quite some effort to win with.

This tabletop will change the way you play your online sessions forever.

If you are a DM and felt at any point that your sessions were “flat”, that combat was lacking the 3d aspect, or that your maps were not detailed enough, you need to get this.

If you are a player and you appreciate when the DM had a table with an impressive set of walls, traps and miniatures waiting for the game session, you need to get this.

If you at any point looked at your game board, and said. I’d love for it to be as impressive as videogames, with animations and lights, you need to get this.

This program is amazing, and it has allowed many in our group to get into D&D that never would have before. We’ve been running a campaign for a few weeks now, and it has been a blast using this program. We all live far away from each other, so getting together was not an option, but the visual aspect of this game has helped some of our players enjoy D&D that never would have enjoyed sitting around a table and playing.

This game is also a huge money saver. For $25, you get to create all these maps and have access to so many minis, which would cost a fortune getting real ones from Dwarvenforge (for example, an unpainted cottage stone set on there is $40, that’s just the cottage).

Creeper Goo

Creeper Goo

A NEW TAKE ON THE RTS GENRE

The creeper is crawling through hills and canyons to your base while you try to stop it in its tracks by building a space station, constructing weapons and structures and ultimately encapsulating the sources of this insidious enemy. In this new take to the tower defense genre, you will have to defend your city against an adversary that comes at you from all directions. In order to defeat the imminent creeper tsunami, you will need to research better technologies, shoot down enemy creeper missiles and capture enough land for collecting energy efficiently. The goo is so strong and corrosive, that the slightest touch would mean the end of any building, even including your mighty city. In this crucial battle against this awful ocean of goo, can you lead your city and your people to the ultimate salvation?

UNIQUE STRATEGY GAME FEATURES

Play in a 3D environment where you send construction and ammunition packets to your buildings and fight against a fluid that has the sole aim of drowning your city. Build lightning towers and missile launchers to push back the enemy. Practice defending your zone by building flak towers on strategic points and fending off enemy aerial assaults. Build superweapons to quickly evaporate large chunks of creeper and assist your counteroffensive. Finally capture the emitters using capsules to win the game.

UNLIMITED GAMEPLAY

Generate your own maps using the built-in map generator or create new maps using the map editor. Play the creations of other players by downloading user generated maps and contribute to the growing creeper nation by having your say and rating these maps. Showcase your artistic ability by creating beautiful landscapes and let the world play your masterpiece and give it the rating it rightfully deserves.

Its lego, in VR, its automatically cool. I will admit theres a couple of oddities, I dont get why the steps are repeated and it would be nice to rotate them rather than just move them around, make it clearer where hidden parts are going but seiroulsy, despite its flaws it works so well.

I stumbled across this recently, and have been enjoying working through the campaign. I give this a thumbs up primarily because of the enthusiastic and helpful developer responses to questions I had, and I feel I got my moneys worth of entertainment value. These guys deserve some more attention for their efforts. It is a game that I “like” but don’t “love”.

Malmyr offers some quite different mechanics to what you would normally expect, though not all of those are necessarily positive things (it is very mouse clicky) and can take some getting used to. Kind of revealing is the lack of a lets play series out there - people tend to bounce off it after a few hours I think. Fundamentally the game is more of a puzzler than a true building game - space is limited and the randomly generated tiles can require some planning before you commit to building. I am hoping to finish the campaign, I am always a sucker for trying to “finish” a game. I haven’t tried the sandbox mode though I may give that a quick shot once I knock off the last two missions, we shall see. I just have too many other games that are begging for my time and this just doesn’t have that magic X factor or depth of strategy tp keep coming back to.

Malmyr is THE game you’ve been waiting for a long time! What a pleasant surprise!

Malmyr is the perfect mix of real-time strategy and puzzle game. Because in Malmyr building your city is not made as easy as in other building games. Instead, you have to ensure an always sufficient flow of raw materials through increasingly complex road systems. but malmyr always remains clear, fair and, above all, relaxing. Relaxation is the perfect word to describe malmyr. You have no time pressure, you can correct mistakes at any time without losing your progress.

Brass: Birmingham

Brass: Birmingham

I love Brass Birmingham (The Boardgame) and reviewing an Early Access game is somewhat unfair - I based my review on both that it is Early Access and the actual gameplay experience.

1. The AI gameplay is rubbish right now and is far from developed - far too easy (even on the expert level) and predictable - Maybe it is good for beginners to learn the mechanics of the game (I can’t really know since i’ve played 20 + times)

2. The Tutorial was good for an intermediate player that has’nt played for a while but for a total beginner I would draw the conclusion that it is far from enough to actually get to know the game.

Most reviews here seem to be written for single games.

Below are the questions my friend and I asked when we tried to play an online game last night, in chronological order.

Why do you have to sign up for an account for Brass when you already have a Steam account?

Why doesn’t the tab button on my keyboard work as usual when signing up?

Why is there no option to invite your friends, instead they would have to scroll through all available games, to find the name of your game? (good luck if you use the default name Brass)

Strong “Yes” recommendation. 1-4 players.

I’ve played a bunch of games solo and 2 online.

The game is great; levels of complexity in strategy without being difficult to play. Once of my favorite game categories is “deceptively simple”. :-)

I’ve never played the board game, but this port seems authentic and there haven’t been any glitches so far. I can’t comment on the AI since I’m new to the game, but I didn’t see anything dumb and it plays quickly and smoothly.

Seems like this is the kind of game that feels very different depending on the number of players.

This game feels ideal for just getting started with online play with few pieces to manipulate and lots of careful strategy to consider. The game is won and lost by very subtle nuances of balance between all leaders. If any faction gets too bloated or carried away with one influence the others suffer and the scoring mechanic is rare, much like Knizia’s earlier Samurai. I like how this game has been rendered, with the building and falling pagodas adding a sense of action to an otherwise pacific game. Also that scoring is so visible and tallied automatically makes gameplay faster than IRL. The mouseover of details of each card are appreciated, but I would also like some hint of the special abilities of farmers to tear pagodas down. This is a case of the online game encouraging cardboard sales because I would buy this box.
