Heat
I think finally I’ve played enough time to make a solid review of HEAT.
I’ll be changing/updating this review in the future if needed, since the game is still a work-in-progress.
Like to read???
Heat is a survival sandbox game settled in the American old West times. Imagine yourself exploring and trying to settle in these lands during the territorial evolution and American revolution, back in the days. Gunslingers! Bisons! Cowboys VS native Americans! Steam locomotives!!

On 4/26 I bought this game and it is now 4/30. I have 78 hours under my belt and these are my thoughts on this early access game.
I knew this was a beta and not a finished product so i didnt have dreams of it being a stellar AAA polished game. But what i have discovered is a real gem of a survival game.
*** I have played Rust, The Forest, and 7 days to die so naturally my experience with Heat will be affected by my experiences with other early access games of this genre.***
DISCLAMER: I have only played PVE servers so i can get a grip on the game before I jump into the fray on PVP–jess sayin'

Outlaws of the Old West
I am just going to break it down by section
Gameplay=Its Early Access so its going to need some work, so far, not too many complaints considering that. I feel there could be more interaction, such as bandits, or NPCs, something to do besides mining, harvesting, and building. I realize there is a PVP option, however, I do not like the idea of working to build a homestead, only to have it destroyed. However, it would be nice to have goals. Such as raising crops, animals, or other things to sell. Maybe a way to build our own stores instead of Prefab stores. A better way to interact with other players would be nice. Right now, you have to trade or use the mail system to interact. It would be nice to be able to set up waystations, build stores, etc. A train system that has a function. Right now its only good for transporting goods which I can do with my horse, seeing as I have to be there to remove them at the end anyways. Maybe a passenger car, as well as cargo cars. I am excited to see how it plays out.

I can only hope that someday, a DEV reads this … I go back to ARK :-(
Designating a game as early access means that it is constantly being improved. But before you improve on details, you should start with the most obvious flaws. This game is nicely set up, but there are still far too many vulnerabilities:
• There are many places on the map without grass or structure that look like an empty carpet, with a geometric shape.
• There are also places where trees hang in the air as if a mountain had been there before.

Bought it for $0.5 and it was an interesting experience. You move your pistols/hands with the left/right mouse triggers and shoot with q/e. You turn by pressing a/d. Aiming feels similar to surgeon simulator. I like the concept but I wish it was more of an “on-the-rails” style shooter with this aiming system; I don’t like the manual turning and getting shot from all angles at once.
It has some issues:
Most importantly, there are targets in spots that you have to hit while moving (pressing a or d) because you cant target them on the screen. You can’t move your guns far enough to the left or right to hit the target without shooting while in motion. I’m not sure if this is intentional but it’s very annoying. This also happens with some of the low targets. You can’t crouch and aim down low enough to hit some targets, especially on the last piggy bank shooting gallery.

New Frontier
Don’t listen to the negative reviews. The game is fine. Take notice that nearly all the negative reviews only have a 1 or 2 hours played. They didn’t give it a fair shake. Those complaining about how hard it is to kill zombies are trying the wrong way, at the wrong level, using the wrong tactics. I often round-up 100 zombies, kill them all and farm them for resources. Another complaint is that the “story mode” needs money to play. Not really. There is an in-game way to earn the gold certificates needed to open the story mode & other aspects of the game. About the only complaint that is real, is that the servers have low population, but who can blame the game with all these nonsense negative reviews. The PVP is different that most PVP. (So far, due to the low population servers. People don’t “always” shoot other people in this game. There are safe-zone where they can’t but even outside of the safe-zones it’s not like GTA5. People seem to respect others in the game a whole lot more. The world is the world, and as in real life, people don’t (or shouldn’t) just go around killing each other and that’s the way it is … so far … in this game. That’s not to say that it never happens. There are some events that throw people together and the PVP is pressed a bit more due to proximity and because resources are being offered, so PVP sometimes erupts in those cases. There is also a specific section of the game where the PVP is similar to CS:GO - team against team & fast-paced. This game certainly has potential - if only the population of the servers would increase. The only bad thing I can say about it right now, as I type, is that for the first time the servers have been down for 2-days without notification… I don’t know if they are updating it, or what as they don’t tell you. I hope the game is still alive … Hanging in there, etc. Because I think this game war ruined mostly by the negative comments from people who don’t have a little bit of attention and effort to try it out long enough. AGAIN: The negative reviews are nonsense. Decent game.

Im not going into depth here there is no point this re wrapped game full of bugs creatures with no sounds, hit boxes are way off and for a pvp game everyone just sits in the safe zones hoping someone will be stupid and 3 or 4 will rush them at once. The only thing that made the game fun was balloon drops you could buy for cheap that when used people would swarm to and pvp would actually take place. thing is they got greedy and upped the price and lowered how many you got and people started leaving out the door quick. So your response is going to be its a alpha game! No its been released before and was a shit game so they decide to re release it under a new name… Oh but the devolpers are working on what the community wants! No they stopped listing to what the community wants and only was updating stupid fixes that didnt improve gameplay and most important would not respond to good questions or have really dumb answers. Example when asked why up the price for balloon drops and lower the amount given? They responded that it was to easy to get rare guns and would increase the life of the game fro the player. When asked how so when the elite killers in the game already have the best guns and 200+ drops you are lucky to get one? They responded that a equalizer (the gun you start with and takes 5 or more shots when others can 1 shot you) is still useful in the game. When asked why would you not just tell us thew truth that you needed money for devolpment of game or just wanted more money but to respond to us like we are dumb asses that accepts every answer as truth is shameful. Even with several re posting in nice answer forms no response but when they have an answer they will respond… It is said to see a game that could be great but have the wrong people at the helm and look them up and listen to others before putting money into this game or what till it is re re released as old frontier cowboys versus clowns.

This Land Is My Land
Developers purposely created a game that cannot be won.
I wish they would have warned us that the game is unwinnable. Something like “enjoy the fishing, hunting, foraging, burning, looting and killing, But you can’t win.”
I actually wish they would tweak the game that you could win. Instead of just burning a settlement, you could have the option to take it over. Instead of killing a person, you could make them a slave to work in the mines and other areas. Instead of having just a trading post, you could have an alliance with a foreign power (first the French against the British and then the British against the United States) where you could trade the gold and other valuables for technology and troops.

Very enjoyable, actions in game affect many variables, play a tactical stealth approach with many craft able resources to aid you or play an attacking role with many craft able weapons each with their own advantages or disadvantages. Or combine stealth and attack to overcome every situation. Raid camps, forts, train stations for resources with a variety of attack options. Hold up trains, post wagons alone or with war parties. Expand and grow your warrior camps and micro manage their actions, gathering, hunting, attacking etc. Trade system in-game and online using a social network. Map is proc gen and each play through therefore is different allowing many hours of game play. Updates continue to add features and upcoming base building will add more control of your camp defence. Great game with lots of potential from a small dev team, who seem to react well to any bugs or issues.

Do It With Hay

Very cute, but content-lite. Realistically Do It With Hay has at most 15 minutes of content, thickened with the bale stacking and having to do some DIY platforming for one achievement. Nice visuals just don’t make up for the wonky physics though, stacking the bales goes fine right up until you try to jump or bunny hop onto them, then both they and you go flying and you must start over…provided the timer hasn’t run out, again. Pitchforks serve no purpose other than to poke the truck driver when he falls asleep, so trying to reach the stacking objectives while managing your stamina meter becomes ridiculously hectic.

Exoplanet: First Contact
UPDATE below the original review, 23+ hours in the game
I currently have close to 9.4 hours in the game, and I’m at the current ‘end.’ As such, I’ll provide my thoughts thus far:
1st question most ask, is it worth buying? In its current state, at 10 hours of gameplay, that’s a tough sell, but having a chance to perhaps have some input on how the final product turns out may be the tipping point for some.
I’ve had fun. I’ve thought about this game between sessions, which is usually a good indicator that it’s interesting enough, even in its current Alpha state, to keep me guessing. I really hope this winds up as a completed project (have seen a few Alphas sputter and die, let this not be one!)

What if Firefly and Mad Max had a Western themed love child…?
Add in a healthy dollop of Fallout and you’d be looking at Exoplanet: First Contact a real find for those of you lucky enough to stumble across it’s store page.
At the moment - Update 7, mid Jan 2018 - sadly almost nobody has heard of this early access gem. This game is a serious sleeper. It’s a clever, novel concept, the gameplay and the story suck you in from the beginning. I’ve seen criticism of the graphics in other reviews but I guess that was prior to the last update because the desert looks great to me.

Wild West Dynasty
Wild West Dynasty: Cowboys, Settlers & Gunslingers
America in the 1800’s - the trails to the West: Settlers are committed on advancing further and further towards the US Pacific; in search of a better life, for business or adventure. They founded farms, raised cattle, dug for gold, built settlements and towns.
A small find of gold is often enough to draw hundreds of daring adventurers while quickly a small settlement becomes a flourishing town with saloons, merchants, gambling, adventurers, and gunslingers…
Enter this breathtakingly exciting time and conquer the Wild West. Emerge from being a lonesome cowboy over founding a settlement to becoming the mayor of a gold-digger town: there are hardly any limits to your personal endeavors.
You start out as a lonesome cowboy who comes across an abandoned ranch and decides to stay. You start repairing and expanding. You gather food, hunt for animals and sell their meat and leather to settler trecks. Once you have established a decent ranch, other settlers may decide to stay and ask for permission to settle down. You start building a town with all its classic locations such as saloon, Sheriff office, stores and even hotels. Bandits will come your way, so you better learn shooting and defend yourself and the township properly.
