Survival In Africa

Survival In Africa

its awful

even though i really like bad games i couldn’t even post a joke good opinion

i even tried beating the game so ima say whats bad about this:

1.crafting recipes are expensive af. you have to kill 2 zebras for an arrow and im pretty goddamn sure its not worth it

2.combat and healing is also boring, you just have to click LMB

3.most enemies are not worth fighting even tho their drops are importand to “beat” the game

4.boring

First Light

First Light

First Light is a first-person survival psychological horror game tinted with body horror, set in a remote cabin in the dead of winter. Explore the cabin and its surroundings, examining items and collecting cassettes to piece together events of the story. Told from two perspectives of the past and the present, you need to know both to survive the powerful forces hunting you.

Play as the SAR officer, Eli, sent to rescue a distress call sent three days ago. Live the past events as Ben, while his fiancee Julia searches for her grandfather, whom she hasn’t heard from in weeks. Meanwhile, an ancient creature of famine and gluttony stalks silently in the wind and snow.

The fates of all involved unfold throughout the night, while Eli must prepare to escape at the first touch of dawn.

  • Explore the cabin and its surroundings for clues.

  • Collect cassettes to tell the story from another view.

  • Outwit and outrun the creature hunting you.

  • Survive until the first light of dawn.

First Light is heavily influenced by spooky greentext stories, innawoods happenings, and a lifetime of lore and love of creature features. A big special thanks to Chass and his curated content for the spark that led to the creation of the game. Please check him out if you like stories like this, or to get an idea of what First Light’s roots are.

I would recommend this game since it is a first time developer and the game looks great and I am interested in seeing what they make next. Overall this game was okay but had flaws. If you want to watch my play through check out the video below:

As a part of my bad games review series I take a look at a game this time that instead has *NO Reviews (ok, there was one, but basically zero). As a result, I definitely wasn’t guaranteed a bad experience but as a game that so clearly is heavily inspired by Five Nights at Freddy’s, FNAF, I figured it’d be a safe bet. I was wrong. This game for what it costs and delivers is actually not bad at all (Dare I say good?)! It scared the daylight out of me! If you like FNAF for the jump scares, you will like this game. Hoping to play more on stream soon.

The Shadows Lengthen

The Shadows Lengthen

‘The Shadows Lengthen is a procedural, open-world, horror game running on the Blender Game engine.

What would it really be like to encounter a monster in the woods?

The only objective is to survive the night, by any means necessary.

Confront monsters & Cryptids from Myth and Legend, one on one in the woods!

Intelligent enemy AI

Monsters are rendered & programmed faithfully to their lore.

This is a game made entirely in the UP Blender Game Engine. That means I am not a big studio, I am just an individual who has, with the help of many other artists, been able to create an open world game.

All the assets in this game are unique. From 3D models and animations, to vehicles and audio, there is no stock art included in this project.

Please join me in celebrating what Blender and the UP Blender Game Engine can do!

DOGMAN

DOGMAN

great price for what you get. its everything i ask for in a horror game, an interesting story, great map design, and a villain that is hard to get away from but that just adds to the reward off beating the game. the only downside is that the Dogman is a bit to big and not really the size it is in the original legend. in the legend he is 7 to 9 feetl. its not a big thing but the size of him is crucial to the original storys.

This game is an absolute steal for the price. It combines the right amount of mystery and horror, making something much more terrifying. Terror. It does what “Bigfoot” (another game on steam) failed to do. After a few hours bigfoot becomes predictable and loses its replay ability. In my opinion this game does the exact opposite. You never know how the dogman will act, or react. It comes with 3 levels (including the winter DLC). For anybody into cryptids, this game is must have. This game is terrifying however, beware.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt

World of Darkness - a setting I would’ve never expected to accommodate a genre like Battle Royale (BR). This weird, but bold move from the developer, piqued my interest, and in a way, earned them my respect. So, I’ve decided to give Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt (BH) a try, and I’m glad that I have.

TL;DR:

Pros:

  • Fluent, fast-paced, and very vertical movement.

  • All weapons are useful, depending on the situation.

  • Clans and classes have unique, fun, and gameplay-defining abilities and traits.

It’s good. Probably the only battle royale i’ve ever actually liked, and I have tried fortnite, PUBG, mc hunger games and what not.

Pros:

1. I love the atmosphere. Vampires are fucking cool. I love how different types of vampires actually look distinct.

2. The feeding is such a nice concept, and some of the powers are really epic. I like the parkour, and way things are handled.

3. The humans in the city and enemy guards give the city a bit more life. Rather than having only players.

4. Pretty good graphics.

Witch Hunt

Witch Hunt

I want to start this review by saying I really admire a lot of the design choices made in this game. A lot of care has been put into the atmosphere, sound and exploration. That being said, the last boss really soured the entire experience for me for a number of reasons.

Before I talk about the last boss, I’ll start with everything I love about this game.

I love how to the point this game is. It gives you a few lines of exposition, then you are in. You are doing your own thing, there is basically no interuptions. It does not hold your hand, it lets you experience every surprise and you learn how to deal with them on your own. The world map is not too big, and has enough strange things in it to discover to keep you entertained while hunting down the beasts. I really love that the creatures you are hunting down are roaming the world and can be anywhere. The game also keeps account of their location each time you save, or fast travel. So finding each beast for the first time is an amazing experience.

This game is incredibly atmospheric and just fun to play and explore. The quality of this game is very high, and you can tell that a lot of care is going into developing it.

There are a few things I’d like to criticize

  • The enemies sound much closer than they actually are. The sounds enemies make are very loud compared to their actual location relative to the player. If that could be changed, it would make things more tense and balanced, as it is too easy to locate enemies based on their sounds from far distances.

Hanefield Asylum

Hanefield Asylum

For a solo developed game, this played pretty well. The jump scares weren’t obvious like in a lot of games, and offered a good sense of fear throughout the game. The additional content after you complete the game was great. A lot of action in a small amount of time, and added more depth to the story of Hanesfield Asylum. Definitely a great buy for less than $10.

I actually had some fun playing this - I thought it was a great premise and the spooks did work really well. However the lack of a save game is a major thumbs down. I can cope with the excessive shots enemies need to bring them down and some glitches here and there - but I’m doing a series on this game on my YouTube channel and haven’t finished the game in one go so I’ve had to go back to the start every time I want to play the next section.

Enjoyed the horror theme though, the devs nailed it.
