Needs more development time and testing alot of stuff only half works and the inventory system needs alot of work. They need to change the inventory system as well as change the way your character gets energy replenished, it is currently too tedious to eat/drink. Cannot recommend this game, especially at that price. I see what they were going for and it is a cool concept, but for the price there is much better games for the same if not cheaper. I would like to recommend this game and give a good review, but in its current state I cannot. Hopefully it will get better and I think they should take ideas from games like Space Engineers on how to execute this games functions much better. For now this review will remain negative until much needed improvements are made.

SPACE ROGUE REVIEW:

..with a message to the

DEVELOPERS

at the bottom.

UPDATE: A developer replied to little ol me noting that they had addressed these bugs and an update rolled out inline with those comments. The Dev has also asked us(the community) to report bugs to them in the format they mention below in the comments. A big thanks to them for addressing this issue for me, I hope it helps others out there too!

I want to start by saying this game is great fun, only sullied by many bugs everywhere. Looking around the a large proportion of these negative reviews, I’d suggest many feel the same about turning their reviews positive(including mine) if the bugs get sorted.

Two things I would like to point out before I get into the “meat and potatoes.” The first is, I hate writing reviews this early into playing a game (13 hours.) Second, I really want to give a positive review and hope with some further developer involvement this game will get there.

So I can not, in this game’s current form, give this game a positive review. The forums are riddled with bugs, some of which I have experienced first hand. The bugs ruin what could have been a quality FTL:Faster than Light clone.

Initially this game seems awesome. Comedic Subnautica in space is an easy sell for a lot of people, myself included. Unfortunately, the second half of this game is a huge departure from the first- so much so that the game becomes a chore to play. The humor is fine for a while, but the constant barrage of slapstick/fart joke/sO rAnDoM jokes becomes down right irritating well before the game nears it’s conclusion. The survival/base building mechanics never reach a point where they feel fully explored or utilized, and are completely abandoned in favor of really sub par narrative driven walking simulator gameplay after the first couple acts. The result feels like a bait and switch, one that you don’t catch on to until you’ve invested ~8 hours.

if I could give it a “meh” rating I would. I think it gets a lot of things right, but the second half of the game really drags the whole thing down. The fact that you reach a point where it just throws your old progress out the window is frustrating.

I was absolutely all-in on the first part. It felt like Subnautica in space. But basically everything you build for part 1 has no purpose in part 2. It’s a beautiful game and fun at first. My advice? Play it and don’t ever get into the Normandy. It goes downhill from there.

I had some fun dissecting the game and there are some good parts in it, but overall can’t recommend it for the actual gameplay.

The short version is that the entire game revolves around one ressource, Energy Gel, and running out of that ressource is the only thing that kills you. Here’s some math to illustrate why that doesn’t work out very well:

1 bee requires 18 Gel per turn to live.

1 bee gathers 100 minerals per turn.

2 bees are needed to turn those 100 minerals into 50 gel.

So 3 bees, who need 54 gel per turn to live, produce 50 gel.

8/10 - my expectations were low, but i was pleasantly surprised by the game.

So the game is like xcom’s base management, but with a “Missile Command” mini game instead of crew combat part and heavy resource management. Also, each “room” has it’s own cute bee-girl. And the story line starts slow, but goes very intense towards the ending of the game.

The game is mostly bug-free (except for the characters who are bugs themselves, lol), but i’ve encountered a couple of small issues and reported them to the devs.

SpaceBlocc

SpaceBlocc

SpaceBlocc is a colorful minimalistic spaceship building game. A mysterious world you have to escape before it destroys you.

BUILD YOUR SHIP

Choose among 7 different parts to build your ship. By correctly managing your weight, thrust, and energy available you will be able to travel a different speeds. Slow and fast both have their advantages and disadvantages. Too slow and you will get destroyed by asteroid rains. Too fast and you won’t have time to destroy obstacles before colliding with them.

UNLOCK NEW PARTS

You start with only the minimum. Unlock new parts as you progress through the game. These parts are required to advance to next levels, and obviously will make your ship stronger.

RESCUE LOST ASTRONAUTS

Rescue astronauts that were a bit too bold. Some are just out there ready to be picked up. Some decided it would be fun to have to be rescued in more dangerous areas.

A Forever Solitude

A Forever Solitude

An emotional and psychological story of survival, fear, solitude, love, life and purpose. Solve puzzles, unlock mysteries, and determine your fate. Played in the Third Person in a Zero-G environment. With a cinematic score. High quality voice acting. A story over 10 years in the making. From solo developer, David Fazzio.

This game builds upon the success of David’s debut game, The Companion . This game has a strong focus on Story and Narrative and is accompanied with striking visuals and artistic style. This follow-up game will layer in more gameplay components such as puzzles, mystery and survival. Play in a brutal, yet beautiful, sci-fi environment.

  • A game of survival, and the will to survive.

  • A branching storyline that can change based on previous decisions.

  • Solve puzzles and unravel mysteries.

  • A Punishing environment with numerous death scenarios.

  • Featuring a beautiful soundtrack and high quality voice acting

  • Zero-G movement.

In search for the next hospitable planet, a group of humans embark on a 200 year voyage to another galaxy. Their bodies rest in stasis as the AI controlled vessel makes its long journey. During the voyage the vessel is struck by debris.

There is catastrophic damage to the vessel. The areas hit are sealed off and the vessel continues onward. However, the full effects of the devastation have not yet been fully realized.

Years later your cryo-chamber succumbs and you are jolted awake from your stasis. You are injured, cold, and alone. You have been awakened… A lifetime too soon.

Can you survive? Will you?

The content and trailer currently displayed have been through 5 months of solo development. This story was conjured up over 10 years ago as a potential short film project. Transitioning this story into a game only made sense and will allow for much more freedom. I am excited to explore Zero-G movement, the sci-fi genre, and space environments.

With the recent advances in technology, now independent and solo developers have so much more resources and power at their disposal. I feel confident I can output a very high quality product to accompany this story. In the past year we’ve been introduced to Unreal Engine 5 and Metahumans, both technologies I intend to take full advantage of.

My first game, The Companion, took 10 months of development. I intend for this project to take a bit longer to develop. This project has many more demands that will elongate development. I will strive to release development updates throughout the duration of this project. Stay updated by joining my Discord and following my other social media channels.

Shortest Trip to Earth

Shortest Trip to Earth

My experience: I have beaten the game with every ship and on the hardest mode. Please note that my playtime doesn’t really reflect how much I played this game. I tend to leave whatever game I’m playing running when I’m AFK doing other things. That said, it probably would’ve taken at least 100 hours to accomplish what I have if Steam only counted when I was actually playing.

I’ve played some games which shared some attributes of this one but, really, not even FTL is all that close. You can move around much more than FTL. You’re not always running away - in fact, you’re running to the fight. The boarding mechanics are simpler here than FTL. The ship to ship combat and crew management is much more fleshed out here. I can’t think of any other games like this but, if you can, feel free to leave me a comment!

Real player with 256.8 hrs in game

I bought this game on sale. The game has interesting story elements that gets you eager to get to the next sector. At first I was enjoying the game and would recommend the game to any “FTL” lower. But after last 2 runs I would definetly woudn’t recoomended the game. I don’t know if this is because of patching or this is the game design to make you reply game more, the more you play and get better the enemies get more stronger. When I say “enemies are getting stronger” I don’t mean like smarter AI or new tactis, they are basically cheating with some creazy strong weapons while at same time ship repaiers are getting more expencive for you.
